Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Animal Protection & Welfare, Animal Services, Animals

Mission: ARFhouse Chicago is contributing to lowering the euthanasia rate in Chicago and surrounding areas by rescuing animals from kill facilities and also strays. Additionally, we promote spaying, neutering and micro-chipping to the community as another way to lower the unnecessary euthanasia of healthy, adoptable animals. ARFhouse Chicago promotes cruelty free (not tested on animals and contains no animal by-products) living by educating the public on the ease of buying cruelty free products and by also only serving vegetarian cuisine at all our events. Lastly, we recognize the increase in gangs using dogs for dog fighting and as a means of intimidation among their peers. We are working with local organizations to help educate the community on the negative impact these individuals have on their surroundings and are working to develop programs to combat this problem.
