supported retirement - supported retirement program is an arc of wake county program of inclusive recreation and leisure designed for older adults with developmental disabilities and other adults with multiple disabilities. Plss staff provide individual therapeutic recreation assessments and help participants access generic community resources for leisure and recreation activities of their choosing. Funding for the rlss program is through a contract with wake county human services, and access is through referrals from wake county human services single portal or the supported living team. Project vigor (vital individual growing older & more resilient) - the primary goal of this project is to enhance the quality of life of older adults with intellectual disabilities by facilitating greater individual choice and participation in decisions that impact the individual's life, social relationships and community involvement. Project activities will indentification of models of day and socialization services and support; compilation and dissemination of "best practices" guidelines; and development and provision of technical support materials and training for staff, family caregivers, faith communities, and disability and aging services.
