Ann Martin Center

Programs: Clinic outpatient program:psychotherapy helps youth (and their families) and individual adults who are experiencing upsetting thoughts, emotions or behavior. The approach relies on establishing safe, trusting relationships where communication is a basic tool for clarifying and understanding personal experiences, hopes, needs, wishes, and worries. Ann martin center also provides comprehensive psychological assessment services for children and adolescents.

school based services:ann martin center provides on-site psychotherapy to students at nine oakland schools including eight ousd (oakland unified school district) public elementary schools and one k-12 charter school. We offer individual, group, and parent/family consultation and therapy, as well as classroom interventions. Services include behavior management consultation to teachers, participation in cost and iep meetings, consultation to parents/caregivers, in-service training for teachers and school staff, partnering with school administrators and staff, and fostering school climates that are safe and supportive in collaboration with parents, teachers and staff.

learning program:ann martin center provides educational therapy for youth and adults with learning disabilities and other non-traditional learning styles. We develop customized treatment plans designed to build upon each individual's abilities. Ann martin center offers educational diagnostic testing to evaluate a student's level of academic achievement, learning style and potential. This assessment can be an important step toward helping clients achieve their academic or career goals.

community education:ann martin center sponsors ongoing free lectures and workshops as part of a commitment to community education. We offer presentations for parents and caregivers as well as for educators and child mental health professionals. Suggestions for topics or speakers are welcome.
