Unfortunately I did not have a good experience at all through Animal Network. I want to be honest in my review that way others are informed when making a decision on what network to adopt a dog from. While I am so grateful and blessed to have adopted Kylo my alaskan malamute, everything else was a hassle and struggle. After adoption I never received my adoption paperwork. Even to this day its been over a month I have yet to receive the official paperwork. Chris the trainer was really good with Kylo and pretty good with communication. Annie the owner was horrible about getting any documents to me. I had to ask for his vaccine records multiple times before ever receiving them. Once I had adopted him I boarded him with "Animal Network" I thought he was staying at the boarding place they are associated with "PawZazz sitters". I did not know he was still with the other rescue dogs, which I will get to that later. I paid them for boarding and this point I am the official owner of Kylo. I entrusted them to ensure Kylo's safety while I waited to move into my apartment, since Kylo could not be around other dogs. I went to pick up Kylo on my pick up date and it did not go how I envisioned at all. I was so excited to get him and bring him to his forever new home... Yet, that did not happen. As soon as he came out he had a cone on his head, had blood dripping from his nose as it was incredibly swollen and raw. See pictures for reference. He was always a happy dog bouncing around every time I came to see him. When he walked out his head was down, his tail was down and you could tell he was in so much pain. I did receive an e-mail the day before from Chris stating: "We did have to bathe him the other day because his kennel neighbor bit his nose. It didn't look too bad after we cleaned him up but I just wanted to let you know. If I can't get there in time to meet you please let me know how he is doing."
He absolutely down played it saying it didn't look too bad after we cleaned it up. I had to immediately take him to the vet and he had to spend the night there. I ended up texting Chris letting him know I was extremely disappointed in how he downplayed the whole thing and they didn't even tell me the day it happened. At this point I WAS HIS OWNER. Instead they left him like that for 2 more days until I picked him up. LACK OF COMMUNICATION. I demanded my money back from boarding since they failed to ensure his safety. Annie the owner ended up calling me and not once did she apologize, she had an attitude on the phone the entire time, refused to give me back my money and at the end said if I give back Kylo they would give me my $300 dollars back. I said absolutely not. Then refused to pay for any vet bills and of course said if I took him to their vet they would have covered it... I am sorry you had 2 days to take him to the vet, and never even mentioned anything even when I picked him up. If you can't properly care for the dogs then don't have a non profit organization because you are still instilling trauma by your lack of safety. Then she goes on how they saved him from death row, yet on their description they said he was surrendered and even the trainer Chris told us the story of his surrender... Then she attempts to say Chris doesn't know everything. They shaved his double coat which is an absolute NO for anyone who has any sort of knowledge about dogs to claim to find out if he had a skin condition which he doesn't... Was it because of a skin condition or were they too lazy to work through his matted hair therefore damaging his hair follicles and they may never grow back.
I am incredibly disappointed in this organization and I really hope there is someone out there who does inspections on shelters because this organization does not ensure the safety of their dogs and while they claim to care for the dogs, their actions speak otherwise. Once again Chris was always good with Kylo when I saw him with him so I am not including him, but more so the owner Annie.
