Causes: Animal-Related, Animals
Mission: The purpose of animal adoption associates, inc. Is to board and provide foster care for stray animals, to place stray animals for adoption, to educate the public on benefits of spaying/neutering, to discourage animal experimentaton and encourage responsible pet ownership.
Programs: To serve as an adoptive placement agency and to provide adoptive home counseling and referrals:homes were found for 8 dogs and 7 cats. An electronic identity chip was placed on each one; adoptive owners were intensively screened. Some pets were re-united with their original owners. Not all prospective owners received an adopted pet. Area veterinarian used animal adoption for help with referrals for new homes.
to serve as a transitional home and boarding facility for stray animals: 6 dogs and 2 cats were sheltered during 2012. 2 dogs and 2 cats were permanently boarded. Each animal was given regular medical care, bathed and fed. Injured animals were treated by veterinarians and by animal adoption volunteers.
