Mission: To improve the understanding, prevention, and treatment of sports related injuries through research and education.
Programs: Develop and sponsor educational programs, scientific research, high school physicals, and other charitable activities. In july, 2016, 11 orthopaedic surgeons and primary care sports medicine physicians graduated from asmi's sports medicine fellowships bringing our total number of graduates to 409. Asmi continues to be the largest trainer of sports medicine physicians in the us. In january 2017, asmi conducted our 35th annual injuries in baseball course. This course is the longest running course of its kind. Between july 2016 - june 2017, asmi continued to develop and sponsor other educational programs, conduct scientific research and continue other charitable activities. 18 research studies were published in the professional literature during this time period. More than 1600 pre-participation sports physicals were conducted for middle and high school students in the community.
