Mission: American pakistan foundation (apf) is dedicated to providing a platform for organizing and galvanizing the efforts of the pakistani american diaspora to enable them to participate in every facet of american society to their fullest potential, to enable the diaspora to serve those in need in pakistan by assisting in socio-economic development at scale in pakistan, thereby building bridges of understanding and lasting ties between the people of the u. Programs: United we vote - apf's #unitedwevote voter registration and awareness campaign encouraged community members to register to vote and to go out on election day to cast their ballots. Our online campaign reached over 65,000 people, and we conducted community outreach at george mason university, new york university, the university of michigan, columbia university, the pakistan day parade in manhattan, pakistan day festivities in long island and virginia, the appna chicago annual meeting, the houston international fashion festival, pakathon boston, and the apk k2 film and discussion event in washington, d. C. Apf@un enables pakistani organizations to share their best practices at the united nations to contribute to the sustainable development framework based on their direct experience serving some of the neediest in pakistan. A joint collaboration with fesf, which runs deafreach schools in pakistan, the initiative is the first of its kind to bridge this gap. Apf highlights the contributions and achievements of pakistani americans while celebrating and providing connectivity for u. S. Community and pakistani development organizations. As of the end of 2016, apf's reach spans 19,000 via email, 33,000 twitter followers, 5,600 facebook followers (with a single post reach of up to 30k), and apf's newest social media presence on instagram has 2,300 followers. Apf hosted a variety of community events with a focus on development, youth, and culture.
