Mission: The air program believes in the promotion and success of american indians within education. Via a mentoring and tutoring component, the air program offers american indians the opportunity to experience the higher educaitonal arean via educational workshops, library research projects, interaction with current college students, networking among college professors and community leaders, in addition to motivation and support to succeed in their post-secondary school pursuits.
Programs: Semester based/weekly mentoring and tutoring for middle and high school students from the urban and reservation indian community in san diego county. Specfiically, educational workshops and field trips, research projects, educational counseling, and cultural based workshops. Air programs directly served appproximatley 200 persons over the year. This includes the student and mentors and volunteers that participated in the air program services. Air programs indirectly benefits the local american indian community by contributing to the betterment of the native community youth via educational motivation and cultural preservation.
