Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Arts & Culture, Arts, Culture & Humanities, Arts Services, Cultural & Ethnic Awareness

Mission: Founded in 1987, AMERINDA began as a group of artists' direct response to the missing or negative images in all areas of the arts. With few initial financial resources AMERINDA organized itself into a non-profit organization, raised funds and began providing services to Native American artists and producing and presenting arts projects. AMERINDA now has extensive experience providing services to Native American artists who are attempting to live simultaneously in traditional and dominant cultural worlds, including the 1989-90 public service announcement, YOU'RE LOOKING AT THE FIRST DRAFT OF THE CONSTITUTION which was broadcast to over 150,000,000 people on network television and recognized with awards.

I am a professional Artist and have been for more than 25 years, and am very proud to be affiliated with Amerinda . I have had several very successful gallery shows, made connections with Art collectors throughout the country. This organization has an amazing support system and the most extensive list of avenues for Artists in all genre's. The Staff is professional, knowledgeable and assists in every aspect. The director is sharp, well connected and quite clearly the force that makes this organization one of the finest for Native Artists.

As a woman and Native American, I would not have a place to exhibit without the support of Amerinda, I would not have a place to publish and I would not have a internet site.
