Of downtown dallas foundation is:-- to make and award, without limitation as to amount to any one recipient or to all recipients, donations, gifts, contributions, scholarships, grants, fellowships, and/or loans from the income, assets, and property of the corporation;-- to engage in research;-- to conduct seminars and workshops;-- to publish materials;-- to make grants in furtherance of projects of altrusa international, inc. , and/or altrusa international inc. Of downtown dallas, inc. ;-- to engage in fund raising programs in furtherance of the purposes of the entity;-- to dispose of any and all of the corporation's assets and property to or for the benefit of any corporation, organization, fund, or foundation operated exclusively for charitable, educational, literary, or scientific purposes
Programs: Foundation for the education of young women - this organization supports single gender education for economically disadvantaged girls through partnership with targeted public schools located primarily in large texas metropolitan areas. Funds were used for college scholarships for graduating seniors at irma rangel young women's leadership academy in dallas. Revenue was raised primarily from one donor who requested that scholarships be funded over a 7-10 year period out of the gift.
community partners of dallas - the mission of this organization is to ensure safety, restore dignity, and inspire hope for the abused and neglected children served by dallas county child protective services. The organization served more than 20,000 children in 2016 through its programs. The grant was provided to fully restore the operation of storyline, one of the five unique programs of the organization. Storyline is a phone line that children can call 24 hours a day to hear a recorded children's story read over the phone.
kids-u, formerly dallas community lighthouse - the mission of this organization is assisting at-risk youths in discovering pathways to success by concentrating on their social, educational, personal and environmental issues. Altrusa sponsored a mother's day party for children who met educational goals to shop for their mothers for mother's day.
