We have been involved with GALT for nearly 15 years as volunteers and our most rewarding role as a foster family. We thoroughly enjoy the community created by this organization. The group rallies whenever there's a need! We ensure every greyhound, or sighthound, that comes into our fold gets the attention they require. Nothing gives us more satisfaction than to foster a greyhound to get them ready for their forever home and then use our revolving door of love to help another.

Greyhound Adoption League of Texas continues to create success stories with their combination of passion and excellent operations. This group is open and welcoming as they support the families of the adopted hounds for the lifetime of the hound.

In 2018 we had the good fortune to add Vivie to our pack. Vivie joined GALT in DFW, fostered in Santa Fe and came back to DFW for our family to gather her up and bring her to Spring, Texas. A very happy ending for a hound dumped in Mansfield, Texas and found by the side of a busy road. The coordinated group of volunteers and fosters were instrumental in changing the fate of many many dogs and families and also one little Vivie.

We have been involved with GALT since 2001 with the adoption of our first Greyhound, Bob then through the additions of Moose, Cookie and our current one, Marge. There are not enough words to describe the fantastic support, dedication, kindness and love this group provides to all its members and of course the hounds. They make them selves available day and night and live by their mission of "No Grey Turned Away". This is a fantastic group of people doing fantastic work!

We have been volunteering for this group for over 10 years now, and they always keep the best interests of each dog in mind. We look for the right family fit for each hound, and make sure they have all the medical attention they need to be as healthy as possible. We have adopted several dogs, and look forward to adopting more from this group.

GALT takes care of the dogs in exemplary fashion, and all the volunteers work hard to ensure happy adopted outcomes. I'm proud to foster for them, helping as many greyhounds as I can. I know my fosters always get the best medical care possible. The adoption coordinators vet applicants and make sure that the right dog is matched up to the adopter.

We've had Zamboni for a couple of years now and GALT made the adoption process easy to understand, efficient, and personalized. He loves walks and laying around and he's able to meet our needs as well of having a semi-active hound. He's in great condition and loves his life! We had a great experience using GALT!

I started volunteering for GALT in 2016. This well-organized adoption group provides excellent medical care for the hounds. They work hard to make sure that the dog will fit in well at its forever adopted home; dogs that will live with cats go to kitty boot camp to live with cats before adoption and dogs that will be only dogs try living alone before they are adopted.
As a volunteer, who didn't have greyhound experience prior to volunteering, the GALT community was incredibly helpful when I had questions.

GALTx is an amazingly complete and thorough non-profit organization that benefits any greyhound, greyhound mix, racer or stray! Because of them, Trixie chose me for her mom many years ago. GALTx arranges for their dogs to be fostered or boarded as necessary. Because greyhounds are the universal blood donors, they are used as such. When the blood donor facilities were shut down, GALTx stepped up to take on these sweet pups. My Trixie had raced over 160 races before retiring from racing and finding me. She was given the opportunity to live in a home with other greyts so that she would be comfortable living in a forever home. GALTx verified our living arrangements and introduced her to my small poodle - making such Trixie didn't this the poodle was a rabbit! After answering lots of questions and confirming my dedication to her, Trixie came to live with us for almost 10 years. When Trix left to run to the rainbow bridge, GALTx was right there with us for comfort and support. They continue to receive small donations from me even though Trix has been gone for years because they use the money wisely and only for the greyts. I cannot imagine a better organization that supports such amazing animals!

GALT is a wonderful organization that puts the greyts first and foremost in anything they do. The dogs' welfare is of upmost importance and the adoption coordinators are very well trained to ascertain whether a greyhound is the best pet for your family. My family went to several meet and greets to find our sweet Trixie. During that time, we were treated professionally, with courtesy and care. Finding the right combination of pet and family is the most important thing for these folks. They tirelessly devote themselves to raising money and taking care of these sweet dogs and generally educating the public on how wonderful greyhounds truly are.

GALT continues their great work! When a Texas greyhound blood bank closed last year, they stepped up to take the majority of the dogs and work to find them homes. They are already working to rehome dogs being displaced due to law changes in Florida and will continue to do so. And of course, no grey is ever turned away. The medical care is head and shoulders above many other adoption groups and the volunteers are energized and excited to help the hounds. We are GALT members for life!

I am so very happy to continue to support GALT. The work that they do on behalf of the hounds and families is inspiring. In 2017, they showed their amazing dedication to the hounds by once again stepping up to help in a large emergency situation, the sudden closure of a pet blood bank. Without hesitation, GALT took scores of hounds in to help them find homes. I highly recommend this organization to adopters, donors and volunteers.

This is a rescue group that takes in all greyhounds, retired racers, coyote hunters, strays, breeding females, injured greyhounds, greyhounds that have lost their homes, mixed breed greyhounds, and sadly, abuse cases. GALT provides the best medical care and then volunteers foster the dogs, teaching them the joys of life in a home until the day they find their forever homes. Before they are adopted GALT absorbs the cost of neutering as well as any medical care a greyhound may need including surgeries. There are no employees, everyone involved is a volunteer and the rescue is well organized, efficient, and exceptionally devoted to the care of these beautiful creatures.

These are the finest, most dedicated people you will ever meet. I had the honor of adopting my beautiful Rebekah from GALT and then fostering 2 sweet boys. GALT is one of the things I miss the most since I moved to Florida.

GALT is a wonderful group, for the dogs homed by them and for the adopters. They are a community with a wealth of knowledge, experience, and care. I have volunteered with this group in different capacities over the years, and enjoy many of the events and try to attend them all when I can. Whenever I have questions (and, after over a decade of owning Greyhounds, I still sometimes have questions), someone knowledgeable is there with an answer or a suggestion I hadn't thought of. When it was time for my greys to cross the bridge, my GALT family was there for me. Everyone here cares about the dogs and the people owned by the dogs.

I came to GALT after moving halfway across the country, where I volunteered and sat on the board of another Greyhound nonprofit organization. I was pleasantly surprised to find how open and welcoming GALT members are, and how much they have to offer. There is always an event, activity or fundraiser in the making. Some are big, some are small, but in the end, when you think about it, that's a LOT of work put into this organization to make it what it is, and the amazing dogs get to reap the benefits. Most organizations either do not have the time or do not have the manpower to always have something in the works. The fact that they can keep it going successfully is a testament to their dedication to saving greyhounds.

I love GALT ! The team does so much for greyhounds from the racing industry and strays alike. They give 5 star treatments to all the dogs in their care, the dogs are in foster homes or the kennels, where the TLC team steps in to give them their daily walks and cuddles. I am amazed at the sheer volume of greyhounds GALT has helped over the years.
GALT ROCKS !!!

I've been following GALT for 6 years on FB and what a great rescue they are ! 5 years ago I took the next step and went to visit them, all the way from Belgium and met them in person. I was taken in, into their family and met even more of the volunteers. They all became my extended family and I love them dearly! I run a small rescue in Belgium and would like to be as good as them when we grow up ! GALT will move heaven and earth to help greyhounds in need, No Grey Turned Away are not just words to them it is their goal to help them all.
I have the deepest respect for all the volunteers and the work they do, day in and day out!

I stalked GALT on social media since social media started, so when I found myself returning to the US in 2013 after 10 years in Australia, GALT swooped in and made sure to make me and my Australian greyhounds feel welcome. I have been involved with them in some way ever since. As a volunteer, they are easy to work with. They're organized and helpful. Their fundraisers are entertaining, memorable, and fun, but it is clear that they are raising much-needed funds to support their motto: No Grey Turned Away. That is a huge task, and GALT rises to that challenge daily.
I also became an adopter. Or a foster-failure. One thing that I love about GALT is that even though The George is now mine, GALT shows interest in how he is doing. They still care about him even though they are not directly caring for him.
I see myself being involved with GALT until I shuffle off this mortal leash.

We adopted Zamboni through GALT. My wife had adopted Jettie through them years ago and after her passing, we were ready for a new Grey. GALT was thorough and timely in their home inspection and we hit it off with the veterinarian who was the inspector right away. Zamboni's foster graciously welcomed us into her home and we also bonded with her as he got along with our dogs, who we brought along. The paperwork was processed timely and Zamboni is a beautiful dog who was well-cared for during his fostering and has become part of our family very fast. We would recommend GALT with our highest regards.

GALT is a group of passionate like minded volunteers who give generously of their time , resources and knowledge to benefit greyhounds in need. This non profit has worked tirelessly with great integrity and consistency over many years. Their mission of no hound left behind continues to be successfully met due to the high caliber of the founders, foster families and volunteers. I highly recommend GALT as a fantastic adoption league.

I’ve always loved animals and knew early on they would be an important part of my life. Greyhounds were not familiar to me - and my childhood home was always a cat home (

I’m an adopter and now volunteer with the Greyhound Adoption League of Tx, for the newly formed New Mexico Chapter. We adopted 3 hounds from them last year and we had a really great experience with them. When they decided to expand into NM, I really wanted to see them succeed. The volunteers are extremely committed and the all resources GALT gets goes into helping the hounds who need medical care. They take in stray sighthounds, as well as retired racers, really living up to the phrase “No Grey turned away.”

The pics I posted are two hounds we just got from another rescue who was having a hard time placing them and didn’t have foster homes for them. GALT now has them and they are well on their way to finding forever homes.
