I became a grandmother to the most beautiful grandbaby girl when Amanda Jane Gooden was born Jan, 4, 1996. My first grandchild, a boy, was about 2 yr's of age at that time. When Amanda was 31/2 mts. of age, I had both grandbabies for a few hour's, all to myself for the first time. Just about 2 mts. later, I received the most awful phone call of my life; Amanda was found not breathing by Mom earlier the morning of May 7, 1996.
A way of healing for me was to learn what SIDS is & I began sharing whatever info I received, with my Son (Amanda's daddy) & other's. I gained so much by attending SIDS conferences in & out of state, also, the country. I became of member of AGAST & benefited greatly by this organization. I'll never forget how greatly they helped me in the griving process.
