Mission: The mission of the alliance of concerned men is to change the attitude and value systems of children, youth, and adults who are at risk and/or in crisis by promoting and teaching independence, positive life skills, and beneficial survival techniques to help them rejoin the mainstream of american life.
Programs: The alliance of concerned men (acm) operates several drug and violence prevention and intervention programs which provide individuals with positive alternatives to drugs, crime, and violence through outreach efforts targeted to ar-risk populations consisting of male and female youth and young adults between the ages of fourteen and twenty-five. These programs provide gang intervention and mediation, mentoring, intensive third party monitoring, job readiness, and training to community services to the targeted groups. This program is in collaboration with dc youth links through the district of columbia department of youth rehabilitation services (drys) adjudicated youth.
the in-school youth program, funded by the district of columbia department of employment services (does), was developed as a contectual approach to building a strong linkage between academic and occupational learning.
