Mission: The albany park community center (apcc) is a not-for-profit community based organization located on chicago's north side. Apcc was incorporated in 1975, and is the largest social service agency in the area. Apcc conducts programs to support employment, citizenship, and literacy for veterans, adults, and children. Apcc has grown to a multi-service organization with over 20 program departments serving nearly 9,000 clients annually. All programs reflect current community needs. It's our mission to educate and support members of the community as they determine their own path of growth and development by providing a diverse array of services to a broad range of individuals, families, groups, and businesses.
Programs: Youth programs, counseling, and social development - includes head start full and half day programs, pre-school for all, school age, teen reach, and school based programs. Over 400 families served between 245 and 270 days a year.
neighborhood development - includes neighborhood recovery initiative which focuses on rebuilding vulnerable neighborhoods and protecting young people. Apcc is the lead coordinating agency in the albany park community and has coordinated direct services with several partner agencies.
adult education - includes esl and abe/ged adult education classes, family literacy and volunteer adult literacy services, citizenship preparation classes, computer training program, and career readiness assistance. More than 2,600 individuals served over 48 weeks a year.
