This is an excellent organization well worth your donations. I have know them since 1996 and have been a volunteer, board member and donor for many years. They provide for our Central Texas needs in the areas of water, land, agricultural sustainability as they also help rural senior citizens, youth and our rural emergency first responders (VFD, CERT, EMS). I feel that they have helped to sustain our rural values and economy so well since they were created as a 505(c)(3) nonprofit in 1993. Please give to their mission at www.alamorcd.org.

ARCD helped me get a program started for at risk children in San Antonio. I was a teacher then and could see that at-risk kids needed help in SAISD so I went to Alamo RCD for help. They provided grant writing workshops and trained me on how to ask for grants for my project and it worked! I was able to support my "Every Drop Counts" program for nine years with the constant help, encouragement, and advice from Alamo RCD. I remain today a member and a thankful client of this organization because they helped over 200 kids a year for almost 10 years, learn how to conserve water as they also enhanced their academic capacity and self worth...Alamo RCD is awesome!
I am a CERT volunteer. My Mom and I both have been CERT trained. We helped in the Boerne Trailer Camp and Brush Fires in 2011. We struggled to find the proper equipment, to get food for the effected citizens and for the volunteer fire departments that came to help. The fire took three days to completely control and we were there all those days and then followed up with the families effected after the event to get them food, clothing and medical supplies. We are SO HAPPY that we are now being assisted by Alamo RC&D within their CERT program. With their help we will be ready for any emergency that comes up and we will be able to train more volunteers. The rural community we cover is very open with only two small towns in Kendall County and we need all the local help that we can get. In short...Alamo RC&D Rocks!!

I have been a volunteer with Alamo RC&D for many years. They are a very dedicated group that helps to our rural communities in many ways. I have seen wonderful watershed protection programs, youth programs called Growing Rural and now they are also supporting the local CERT programs . They are very good at mustering up volunteers and taking care of project s that need to be done due to a local need. In other words...they help on home ground where it is needed most!
