Causes: Alumni Associations, Education
Mission: Educating, guiding, and awarding scholarships to young men and women in the community who seek a greater understanding of the u. S. Naval academy and u. S. Navy; and promoting within the alamo chapter area a greater awareness of the naval and maritime interests of our country, and the armed forces of the united states.
Programs: Membership meetings, website, and memorials. The alamo chapter members usually meet once a month for an hour long meeting with a guest speaker. Approximately 30 people attend the monthly meetings. The alamo chapter made three memorial donations during this tax year.
the naval academy alamo chapter hosted a dinner in san antonio for the superintendent who made a presentation to prospective candidates, parents, and other attendees on the academy mission and successful academy candidate requirements. Approximaterly 60 people attended the dinner and presentation.
the naval academy alamo chapter hosted a candidate recruiting event in november at the san antonio cafe college. The chapter supported the san antonio parent's club annual picnic. The chapter also paid for one attendee's tuition and travel costs to the naval academy summer seminar.
