Causes: Group Homes, Human Services
Mission: Add's purpose is to provide the optimum level of quality rehabilitation services to all individuals livining within our residential program. We provide a healthy, safe and homelike environment, in which individuals may achieve the greatest level of independence possible. Add strives to surpass all requirements of omh, opwdd, federal, state and local authorities. Guided by core values of respect, choice trust, empathy and dignity, we believe that every individual has value and potential to learn and achieve goals. We do everything to inspire self-esteem, and encourage individuals to help each other and work together whenever possible. We aim to achieve fulfillment for every individual and employee by providing innovative and progressive programming and training. We are consistent in providing competent and compassionate staff who are role models for the people they serve.
Programs: Icf program - intermediate care facilities - there are 44 clients served in 5 homes. This is an office for people with developmental disabilities (opwdd) program. It is expected that the participants in this program will require intensive care and habilitational intervention in those areas lacking basic self help abilities. The goals for the program are to encourage growth toward living more independent lives and continue to nurture each individual's physical, psychological and emotional growth. The icf program provides a range of services to each client as specified to an individual program plan with long and short range goals being established.
ira program-individualized residential alternatives - there are 39 clients served in 8 homes and 2 three-bed supportive apartments. This is an opwdd program. The hallmark of this program is a person centered approach, where the person with the disability is the primary decision maker utilizing the guidance given by advocates who can include their service coordinator, family members, neighbors, community members and professionals. The program's mission is to create an environment where the individual's choices, hopes, ambitions and strengths provide basis for all the services and allow the individual to become more empowered and fully engaged in community life.
omh program-mental health residential services - this is an office of mental health program. There are 82 clients served. 49 clients are in community residences, 12 are in apartment treatment (supportive) and 21 are in supported apartment. The community residences require 24 hours a day staffing. Support, training and assistance in activities of daily living are provided by trained staff. In the apartment treatment program individuals are independent in many areas of daily living but may continue to require minimal support and supervision. The supported housing sites are not licensed with omh. There are 3 individuals that live together and are self-sufficient for the most part but may receive guidance and assistance to access necessary services.
add maintains a sensory garden on the underutilized 2. 5 acres of the northville icf. The gardens is partially staffed by individuals who reside in add houses. Individuals from each program work at the farm. Their duties include caring for the animals and maintenance of the gardens and ponds. This employment allows these individuals to gain greater self-esteem, be productive, meet their goals of being self sufficient, and feel part of a team.
