Mission: The afme foundation is a non-profit organization that brings filmmakers, musicians, artist and visionaries together to celebrate the art of storytelling and collaborate into the future. Our purpose is to provide opportunities for future generations through the power of film, music and the arts while increasing exposure and economic impact for the city of albuquerque, the state of new mexico and you, our partner.
Programs: Afme foundation will: (1)encourage and inspire independent film and media makers; (2)introduce audiences to the work of independent film and media makers; (3) shift global consciousness through film and media while providing educational and career opportunities in those fields and the arts for future generations; (4)set standards for excellence in the use of film and media by independent artists; (5)hold periodic educational conventions of independent film and media makers and others at which seminars, roundtable discussions, workshops, artistic demonstrations and media exhibitions can, or may be presented; and (6)take any and all other actions consistent with the promotion, recognition, and appreciation of independent film and media makers, as specified in afme foundation's articles of incorporation. The annual film festival is the organization's primary program.
