Causes: Centers to Support the Independence of Specific Populations, Human Services
Mission: Provide comprehensive recovery and advocacy education and training for persons with or who are in recovery from mental health or co-occurring disorders, including recovery university, advocacy education, and young adult programs.
Programs: On a day-to day basis, aggressively promoted and educated individuals with mental health or co-occurring disorders on human rights and advocate for system change. These efforts were also accomplished by providing, 5 sixteen-week courses to 84 individuals to educate them to advocate for their own and other peoples human rights provided 5 recovery university sixty-hour certification courses for 126 individuals with lived experiences to enable them to obtain employment in the behavioral health field provided 4 twelve-week courses to 58 young adults who are called super advocates to become advocates that will pass on the message of hope and offered on-line courses that include training on self-advocacy and system change.
