Programs: Artists' retreat. As part of its charitable purpose, acequia madre house (amh) uses a residence as a short-term retreat for well-established musicians and other performing artists, and for their promising young counterparts. The residence is a unique creative space in a beautiful and tranquil setting away from the demands and commitments of the artists' normal schedules, providing the artists with an opportunity to focus their efforts on new works and on collaborative efforts with other retreat participants and with members of the santa fe performing arts community. During their stay, the visiting artists will be encouraged to interact with the local community through concerts, lectures and other performances as a means of promoting music and art appreciation in santa fe. The artists may remain in residence for a period of up to one month, with the number of participating artists at any given time generally expected to range from one to no more than ten artists.
