Mission: Accessmatters advances sexual and reproductive health outcomes to promote health equity for all individuals, families and communities.
Programs: Adult sexual and reproductive health: accessmatters hosts a number of different programs providing individuals with accessible, confidential sexual and reproductive health services. These life-saving and life-changing services include: affordable fda-approved birth control, pregnancy planning, breast and cervical cancer screening, testing and treatment for sexually transmitted diseases (stds), hiv testing, and referrals for other services like prenatal care and primary care. Accessmatters network of 22 family planning providers in over 60 locations serves over 100,000 individuals with sexual and reproductive health services. The cdc and state-funded healthywoman program administered by accessmatters in southeastern pennsylvania provides over 3,900 women 21 years old and older with breast and cervical cancer screening and prevention services.
teen sexual and reproductive health: accessmatters oversees a number of teen health programs that provide youth the tools they need to stay healthy, stay in school, and live up to their full potential. Over 22,000 teens, ages 19 and younger, receive sexual and reproductive health services through accessmatters network. These services are provided at youth-friendly family planning clinics and at 20 school- or community-based health resource centers throughout the commonwealth of pennsylvania.
community-based services: accessmatters community-based programs reach over 1,200 individuals and families affected by and infected with hiv through community-based testing and counseling and comprehensive, family-centered hiv care through its network of ryan white funded providers. Community-based services also works to enhance the health of lgbt communities in southeastern pennsylvania through outreach, education, advocacy, and partnerships at both the community and organizational levels. Accessmatters also hosts community outreach and information services through its hotlines that provide counseling and referrals for sexual and reproductive health care services through more than 2,000 calls annually.
other: in addition to transforming access to sexual and reproductive health services, accessmatters supports long-standing, nationally-recognized research and training programs. Accessmatters conducts community informed research, program evaluation, and needs assessment, frequently partnering with leading academic institutions. Accessmatters provides distance learning and in-person training opportunities to hundreds of health care and social service providers locally, regionally, and nationally.
