I was able to Tutor at Rocketship Los Sueños and it was amazing. The staff to help make this possible were great and made it very easy to start helping and allowing to kids to learn. There pace and program was great for the kids and allowed lot of them to learn plenty

I am a CASA volunteer with Child Advocates of Silicon Valley, and it’s been one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. The staff is incredibly supportive and truly cares about both the children and the volunteers. One thing I think is especially amazing is how Child Advocates takes the time to match each CASA with a child based on the child’s specific needs. That was the case for me and the youth I advocate for, and it has made a huge difference in building trust and creating a positive relationship. Through this role, I’ve been able to support a child during really difficult times, making sure they have someone in their corner who listens and speaks up for them. It’s been powerful to see how having a consistent, caring adult can bring hope and stability to a child’s life. I’m so grateful to be part of an organization that changes lives in such a meaningful way. If you’re looking for a way to make a real impact, I highly recommend getting involved!

As a board member of Raising Readers Massachusetts, I am continually impressed by the organization's dedication to fostering early childhood literacy. The team works tirelessly to provide families with the tools and resources needed to support reading at home, laying a strong foundation for lifelong learning. The impact they make in communities across the state is truly inspiring, and I am proud to be a part of this vital mission.

Triple Threat Theatre Foundation has been supporting the performing arts in Milpitas, CA. <br>Programs through City of Milpitas and Milpitas Unified School District and Center Stage Performing Arts have benefited from the hard work of the volunteers of Triple Threat Theatre Foundation <br>With the Help of Milpitas Charity Bingo we fundraise to financially support performers to go on annual tour to showcase their talents. Our last Fundraiser benefited Center Stage Performing Arts to help fund their tour program ' A NIGHT WITH THE STARS DINNER SHOW' brought our city leaders together to support our mission.

STLF allowed us to send our son to Open Sky Wilderness Therapy after he attempted suicide. The journey was miraculous and STLF walked beside us all along the way. From initial answers, quick responses when we were in crisis, a significant financial grant, to the resources and connection to other parents, to the weekly coaching post wilderness, to the financial help with therapies post wilderness, STLF never faltered or failed to show up for us. <br> <br>We are beyond grateful and want to support the ongoing work of STLF to impact the lives of young people like our son who embody such promise but struggle to operate in this complex world. <br> <br>Our son’s life and our lives as parents are forever changed in a profoundly positive way by this past year and we hope that STLF will be able to continue to aid families like ours in what was our moment of greatest need.

Silicon Andhra had always been supportive of the social causes I’m involved with. Greatly impressed by the enthusiasm, selflessness and compassion of the Silicon Andhra team. The Leaders and team never hesitated to conceive, execute and complete any projects that involved helping the global good, be it hospital, schools, University. I feel so privileged to be part of the Organization.

I have had many great opportunities to empower youth and women as a volunteer at Pacific Links Foundation. The way they help youth and women to gain more knowledge and skills for their better lives is amazing. During the Covid-19 pandemic, PALs organized a successful Virtual Summer Camp, has been running the Cook2Give challenge to raise funds for disadvantaged people and many other activities effectively. I feel so wonderful to join with dedicated staff, volunteers and help many girls and women in Vietnam. Thank you, PALS, for all that you do!

Hello, my name is Alfred Shinard I'm sharing my story with hopes that someone would listen and some how assist me.. I'm seeking relief from prison where I have currently been in the state of Md. For 25 years I was sent to Me. As a minor under the Dc youth act, where I had already served 6 years as a youth. This is my first adult charge in the state of Md. Whereby any total been incarcerated for 31 of my 48 years of living. I was convicted in PG county for armed carjacking where I received 40 years, I've been here since 1996 and I'm ready to show the world I'm a changed man. The courts haven't been to much help I had a scheduled hearing in Feb on the 19th for timed served but have not heard anything from the judge. My attorney hasn't really been much help I've exaulted all my money to him so now I need someone in my corner. I have a son whom I haven't seen nor spent time with. He tells me he needs me and hope the judge makes a decision soon. This has been a long waiting process. Sankara Eye Foundation has been doing phenomenal work to strive towards eradicating curable blindness in all of India. It has been an honor to support an organization that is totally committed to providing the best eye care to the most needy.

What makes ILP stand out in achieving its objective is the holistic and realistic approach they have adopted in making quality education a reality in Government schools. Their attempt to bridging the gap in literacy standard in rural India is laudable as it takes enormous efforts to build the understanding of rural community towards quality education. Their intent and vision is foresighted, their method is effective and peer reviewed and their education model is unlike any other. I wish and hope that their efforts and ambitions reach greater heights and they are able to achieve 100% literacy level in Government schools.

This was the least stressful home improvement project in which I have ever been involved. I was also my own volunteer! The class was informative and a confidence builder. The lead installer was organized and good humored.

CASSY is truly an amazing organization that helps destigmatize mental health and provide an opportunity for children of all school ages to live up to their maximum potential by enhancing their growth and emotional well-being.

My husband and I met at 15 years old and started working at 15 years old. A few years back my husband lost his job as an engineer and at the same time we started to raise our three grandchildren, with our oldest son. Christmas was approaching and I was so sad because I wasn't going to be able to do what we did for all 3 of our children throughout the years. Then the Milpitas food pantry told us about the firefighter toy giveaway. We were made to feel so welcomed and the firefighters were so caring. Our grandchildren had the best Christmas ever with the wonderful gifts that were given to us we could never thank them enough for their love and generosity. It's not easy being humble and telling people that you're broke. I was embarrassed at first but the Firefighters and Milpitas Food Pantry has been there for us the past couple years and we are eternally grateful. Thank you for providing a wonderful Christmas for us. I look forward to the toy drive this year and hope that next year my husband has a job and we will no longer need to use the services. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, your love will never be forgotten. We have the best firefighters in all of California! Much love to you and Merry Christmas! <br>

I had been looking for volunteer opportunities in the area, and living in Alviso, I was slightly familiar with the Boys & Girls Clubs since one is located nearby. I decided to browse their website and eventually applied to volunteer. I had applied during a weekend, and received a response that Monday. <br> <br>If you're 18+, the process to volunteer with this non-profit is a rather lengthy one. You start with the in-person interview. This allows the interviewer to help better 'fit' you within the organization. I started out applying as a volunteer at the Alviso club-house location, but eventually decided to go with their on-going in-office volunteer opportunity because my skill-set and schedule was better suited for that. <br> <br>After you've decided on what your role as a volunteer will be, you also need to have proof of a negative TB test on document. Then you get to go through with fingerprinting as part of the company's background check. After the background check process is complete, you have your orientation. This is where you learn about the company's goals and mission, as well as policies. <br> <br>The whole process can take a week or two, so this isn't really a walk-through the door type of volunteer opportunity. It's much more of a commitment. <br> <br>However, if you're willing to go through with this commitment, you'll really be helping out on a great cause. BGCSV is focused on providing resources to kids who need them the most, and you can also be a part of this process -- in whatever capacity you can. <br> <br>For me, I served in the administrative office for a few months. I helped on any projects I could assist on, ranging from research to data-entry to paperwork. Although it wasn't direct work with kids, someone is always responsible for helping the organization run -- and I was happy to help where I could and where my skill set would provide the biggest assistance. <br> <br>The staff here are amazing, and they made the experience wonderful. If I ever find myself with a great deal of free time again, I would certainly try to get on board with volunteering here again.

HSSV makes such an incredible difference in the lives of our special animals in need of security, love and a forever home. The Animal Community Center is amazing in its environmental design (earned the LEED's designation), attractiveness and comfort. The "guests" live in glassed and airy condos while they are with us. The organization and staff of HSSV are so incredibly professional and compassionate. The huge family of volunteers and foster care homes are so significant to the heart of the HSSV Mission. HSSV has incredible community outreach/educational programs including Camps that always have a wait list for the young people. HSSV is instrumental in helping and working with other shelters in the area to save lives and increase adoptions with great success. The medical facility and vets and staff are state of the art and so integral in saving so many precious lives. The Kitty Nursery is special and allows the needed extra care, love and attention that these babies at risk require. I am so very proud of the HSSV community and the many lives that are saved and enhanced--both human and animal--because of the incredible work of HSSV. I am honored to be on the Board of this outstanding organization.

My wife and I have donated and volunteered for this organization for the last 10 months. They are very pleasant to work with and I enjoyed meeting other volunteers and the dedicated staff. They give local kids a safe place to go after school and we feel good about helping an organization that helps kids.

After attending the dedication of two Habitat homes in Campbell, CA in early 2000, I was overwhelmed by the outpouring of support for these new Habitat families and the emotion of getting the keys to their own home. I was convinced that this affiliate would be my charity of choice. <br> <br> I volunteered on the Site Selection Committee for two years and than accepted a position on the Board of Directors. I will be finishing my third three-year term in June of 2012. I am 73 years old and I can honestly say that the years of volunteering for Habitat for Humanity, Silicon Valley have been the most fulfilling in my life. <br> <br>If you want the great feeling of serving an organization that changes families lives for generations to come, then Habitat for Humanity is that organization.
