Causes: Children & Youth, Youth Development - Religious Leadership
Mission: TYM''s mission is serving the needs of high risk, battered and abused children by providing free, high impact experiences and year round follow up with positive adult mentors.
Programs: Summer Camp: TYM offers six 5-day summer sessions for troubled children 8 - 12 years old at our camp near Pescadero, CA. Over 90% of the children come from the foster care system and are from several nationalities and races. Few of them would be able to attend summer camp if an organization such as ours did not provide this service. Backpacking Trips: TYM offers one 5-day backpacking trip for teen boys and another for teen girls each summer. These trips take place in the Sierra Nevada Mountains in California. As with the summer camps, these trips are for troubled and abused children. Follow-Up Program - This is the over-arching program that TYM has during the 9 months of the year during which there are no summer activities. We take troubled children to professional football and baseball games, provide snow trips (skiing, snowboarding, sledding), and provide cultural activities (attending plays, concerts, etc.). This also includes our new mentoring program.
