MENAC is truly amazing! I started volunteering a few months ago and have helped with things such as mentoring kids and assisting wherever I can for the organization, and am blown away with all of the opportunities they’re able to provide for not only the children, but everyone involved! It’s truly a blessing to see what all came come from a strong network of people who are passionate and like-minded when it comes to better serving their community and the kids!

Absolutely amazing animal rescue that is very active! There are tons of adoption events and such a supporting team! They do so much good for the dogs and cats here and I’m excited to see them expand! I got my furbaby Lili from them, have fostered several dogs and volunteer from time to time. It’s amazing to volunteer for an organization that gives you all of the tools and support to foster animals. They provide everything from food to collars to bowls, you just provide a safe loving home and help train/get the animals used to a home environment.

Can't answer the phone. Don't check emails. Continuously dead named me when I was going there for gender affirming therapy. Was never allowed to speak with the doctors directly. Went there to sign paper work and the door was locked even when the hours on the door said they were open. Grace is probably the only competent employee here. Don't even bother with this crap hole. I'm going to UNC for my treatment. Thanks for wasting my time.

As a victim of military domestic violence I had a less than favorable experience with HH6. In order to access their resources a spouse must provide a Veteran’s Disability Benefits rating documents or proof of VA Caregiver program credentials/income. Or affiliation with National organizations I wasn’t aware of nor do I qualify for without my Veteran’s permission; like WWP <br>1. My husband’s DOD financial records are his intellectual property and not mine to access, that’s illegal 2. Not all Caregivers qualify for the VA’s Caregiver program, I didn’t even know it was in existence. 3. My husband took away my WWP benefits when I fled for my safety. <br>So now HH6 is denying me resources because A. I won’t or can’t provide them my husband’s DOD records/financial documents <br>B. I don’t fit VA criteria for financial compensation from the VA based on my Veteran’s disability rating <br>C. I was blocked by my Veteran from organizations that are Veteran-centric like Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) as a manipulative tool to continue to control me. <br><br>So, as it stands since I do not have financial documents that lead to financial reimbursement to HH6, I am denied the privilege needed to utilize HH6 resources. My bad... in a crisis, I didn’t have time to gather my husband’s financial records while fleeing for my safety, nor did I plan ahead and enroll in the prerequisite programs ahead of my assault. <br>Shame on me for not knowing any better.

This wonderful nonprofit 501 C 3 helped me locate my son who was taken by his father (non custodial parent). My son was taken by his father from his school in Montana. No one would help me run a story or even file a missing person report because my ex husband had limited visitation rights. National Center for Missing And Endangered not only posted an alert about my 10 year old son who was missing, they got a tip almost 4 weeks later which helped me and the police locate my son. They were with me through each step and supported me along the way. I was lost and devastated. They offered me the continued HOPE and reassurance that my son would be found. He was and I am forever grateful to Debbie and her team at NCME.

HAH is a wonderful organization that is working extremely hard doing TNR in the area. They trapped a feral mama and kittens for me that probably never would have survived the cold nights. They are now thriving 12 week old kittens and there mama is doing great as well. Have a Heart needs and deserves the support of the community to continue the work they do.<br>

Have been affiliated with this organization for over two years now. We've come a long way from when we first launched. This next year (2020) will see many advances, and expansions of the services offered by the org's programs & services. We are proud to help bring trans, gender-expansive, and non-binary folks out of a place of crisis and into a place of empowerment.

Seniors in need of incontinence supplies or nutritional supplements are able to receive help. Also if a Senior is needing a one time help financially to avoid a cutoff of a utility Friends is often able to offer assistance.

I would like to know who can give me info on this cancer. I was just diagnosed with it and I can’t fond much info on it as it is rare. Please help:) <br>Also I’m in Nashville TN, not sure why it says NC

My family moved from the busy state of Virginia Beach , Virginia, in 2016 ! It was not an easy transition for us , and the methods here to get established with doctors, shelter, food, etc, took some time, months even ! This mission was introduced to us by a friend and they have fed my family many times , and i could not be , or feel more blessed than i do to know they are here when we run out of anything or need help in any way . Yes we have donated to it as well , and it's also the reason i was motivated further, to start our Warm the homeless ! Coats, gloves, and hats drive ! All the proceeds will go to agencies like this one in our community at christmas time ! My children's book was also an inspiration from my famly to want to help and give back to lour new community , our new home !

This charity is new but 100% of every dollar goes to mission of helping others. All admin costs are paid by the charity directors. The mission is to bring advanced medical care to orphans and recently adopted children.

RAL YLI is the 501(c)3 organization of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc Chapter (Rho Alpha Lambda) located in Jacksonville NC. It was created to effectively carry out the youth mentorship and other community service programs in the Onslow County and surrounding areas. The youth program is dubbed, Leaders of Tomorrow.

I respect "MSgtMT's" opinion, but would have to stay that the post was not based on his assumption, nor is it just one current member or past member that has seen the issues within the association. This is NOT to take away from the current membership or the GREAT members who established it and made it grow. I do however feel something needs to be noted as it helps shape what the current concerns are. MSgtMT stated, "Establish through HQMC a role between the Organization and Training Command an opportunity for the association to speak with each graduating class and inform the Marines that the association exists and the opportunities that are provided to its members and their children." For as far back as I can remember, this was always in "place" and "welcomed" at LOS (MTMIC), Camp Johnson. However, they showed up a few times and then we never seen them again. Its hard to set up a schedule for briefing time for them if they never show up. As far as I know, that door is "still open to them". The other point that was a concern was the part about, "....opportunities that are provided to its members and their children", please explain what opportunities are available to YOUNG Marines and their children? Like what is it active duty members get from the USMC MTA and how many Active Duty Marines children received anything from the USMC MTA [please support the answer with data/actual numbers]. This is a KEY concern, value has to be perceived by all members and the data would or should support that value to support such statements. Also please note, my concerns have ALWAYS been about the Motor T Community, the Young Marines and the balance between both those who came before us and after us. [*Note: I will try to POST this WITHOUT using the RATING stars, because I wanted to reply to MSgtMT's post. If it does not allow me to do this, I will have to select the same one star that I did in my first post, because as far as I know, nothing has changed--nor has the USMC MTA Board reached out in an attempt to see if a possible balance or compromise could be reached.]

I have been a volunteer with this organization for 2 years. I have seen the joy and comfort of the girls when they are in the meetings. The leaders seem to relate well with the girls. The open forum of discussions and the information that are given is truly beyond the obvious. From the tours to universities , etiquette classes to trash pick up, keep us all aware that everyone has to help keep our community clean . This organization continues to been a rewarding and treaching experience for the girls . I look foward to the Scholorship Banquet in may 2013. <br> <br>Rafaela Thomas

This is a wonderful bunch of people serving the community and the environment here in Jacksonville! They have taken on the ominous task of cleaning up the New River after the city had dumped their sewage in it for decades, and have done so spectacularly. They get out environmental information every chance they get: I have seen them at farmers market, every festival they have here on the coast, and even at schools. They are always very interested in talking to citizens about local environmental issues and what they can do personally to help, and have farm raised flounder to observe to grab kids attention and get them interested in talking as well. My son is participating in a youth program or theirs called 'Street Science'. It is an amazing program that is offered free to families that focuses on a different aspect of science each month. The children are given exposure and experience through hands on learning of many different avenues of the scientific world, enhancing the curiosity of the students. This gives these children exposure to fantastic teaching in venues they might not otherwise be exposed to. I know that Sturgeon City at Jacksonville is very interested in bringing the educational experience to schools, and I will be very excited when that comes to fruition. <br>All in all, this is an amazing program, a wonderful and hard working group of individuals, and Jacksonville, NC is very lucky to have them. Any recognition they can get is well deserved.
