This is a great program to connect a client with companies ready to hire it's graduates from construction math to hands on carpentry this is a great program where I gained great friends.

I love this organization! As a former participant (2010-2012) and a current employee I have witnessed its humble transparency to serve families better and to serve more families. We don't nail it 100% of the time, but wow, do we put in the effort to get there. I have the privilege to work directly with families and on the organization and the overwhelming vibe is committed hard work from the staff, but especially the families as they navigate their own financial journey. I'm incredibly grateful to work with the staff and families who cultivate an environment of hard work, service and delight in the pursuit of living a values driven life.

She instead decided to Kick the Can down the road rather than standing up and embracing her role as the CEO of reach Community Development! So to any prospective tenants please do yourself a favor and avoid renting a unit from a reach Community Development property in Portland Oregon and Southwest Washington State

I've been so pleased to be a part of the Portland chapter of NCL! Such a friendly, warm and welcoming group. It's been a wonderful way to spend time with my daughter, while giving back to our community. <br><br>There are a variety of speakers and programming from Executive functioning & how to talk with your daughter about the ups and downs of friendship, to fashion and hands on philanthropy. My daughter's meetings have had content on how to conduct a meeting, self defense, yoga, self care, leadership, and hands on philanthropy. <br><br>There are many opportunities for philanthropy for you and your daughter. I 've been on the board for two years, and found the women to be supportive and collaborative. I appreciate that our girls to get see us in leadership roles, and they also get a chance to lead too. Overall, it's a beneficial program and I highly recommend it.

With a small staff and dedicated volunteers, Solar Oregon has for over 40 years provided educational events to promote solar energy in our rainy northwest. As a volunteer, board member, and retired architect, I have enjoyed the events and the opportunity to educate Oregonians: Go Zero home tours, Solar Winery Tours, Community Solar education, and our Green Energy Series.

I have been supporting Mercy Corps for a couple of years to the tune of several hundred a year ($700 last year). Their work got good reviews, and their fund-raising was not aggressive. The latter behavior has changed. Starting about 3 months ago I have been getting solicitations by mail almost weekly. And this past week they even phoned me. So forget them. There are other charities that are at least as effective delivering aid to the poor and do not harass you.<br><br>Mercy Corps: I hope you are reading your reviews. Annoying your donors is not going to help your cause. Why are you doing it??<br><br>Jeff M

This organization is amazing!! I am so honored to be on their Board. Everyone who is involved with them are so passionate about it and only wants to help make it stronger and better. We constantly keep growing and adding new programs. We want to help as many as moms and dads and families as we can!! We not only help families but train providers! This is the organization to turn to if you are struggling with any Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorder

My brother, Richard, lived at Appaloosa house in Salem for at least 15 years. Some of the staff has changed over the years but we and he were blessed to have many long term people there. He passed on April 9th and it is still sad. I cannot express my and my family’s appreciation enough for the care he received. We, as a family have always been very involved as much as we could. We appreciate the many adventures provided by the staff and organization. We did have a celebration of life for his Albertina family the roommates too. They suffered his loss as much as we have. It's now 2019 and things have changed. Bigly! The Oregon Bluegrass Association is committed to supporting everyone in the bluegrass community. Inclusivity is paramount. Bluegrass music is uniquely American, and America is comprised of people from all backgrounds, ethnicities and genders. The evolution of the music is enriched by embracing all who wish to participate. I am proud to be involved with this evolving organization.

Just had a great exchange with C.M. who was representing the United States Mission. I almost turned this guy away, but I decided to give him a listen. He showed me all the city and state permits to go door-to-door collecting donations and I was shocked. I can't tell you the last time I gave someone money that came to my door. Everything is such a racket nowadays. THIS IS TOTALLY LEGIT. He even provided me with a donation receipt. If you encounter people from this organization, PLEASE DON'T TURN THEM AWAY BEFORE YOU HEAR WHAT THEY HAVE TO SAY. Better yet, donate if you can.

RMHC is family! They will always hold a special place in mine and my family's heart! They have always gone over the top to help us, comfort us, and always lend an ear for difficult times. More people really need to know how great this place is as well as the staff! Thank you RMCH from the bottom of our hearts!!!

Habitat is a amazing organization that help many people of every race find affordable housing in a city with sky rocketing housing cost. I can personally testify that this organization and its staff truly do make a difference in not only our communities but changes life's of the families it helps. They truly do believe in what they do and it shows. <br>And God bless them for helping build a safe area/play structure for children to play community where there was none. John w/ Helensview Heights Homeowners Assoc. should be ashamed of your self for condoning them for that. Obviously there was a need or Kaboom! and Carmax & Habitat would of partnered together to build it.<br><br>

This organization works with CPS and is not non bias if there is a case anything that you say or done in their View will be used against you as they smile in your face a lot of them have just graduated and or devoid of enough Life Experiences to be a valuable resource in the field of psychology.

I met Dr. Kinari Webb in 2005 when Health In Harmony (HIH) was yet a dream of possibility and have been a financial supporter since HIH’s inception. I have seen consistently excellent stewardship of the resources given to this organization – not just “treasures” received but time and talent donated as well. Additionally, the partnership between HIH and their Indonesian partner, ASRI, is a model of mutually supportive interdependence, international partnership at its best. The “radical listening” that has been done in the communities they serve has resulted in meaningful and sustainable change that benefits not just those whose needs are directly met but all of us who live on this planet as well. I have personally spent time there in 2014 and 2016 so am also speaking from in-person, on-site experience. If you are looking to contribute to accountable, meaningful work then I encourage you to support Health In Harmony.

A few years ago I began hearing from retired educators about a program called Child Aid and the projects that they were helping with in Guatemala. As a retired teacher/Title I coordinator and reading consultant for the state of Oregon, I was well aware of the importance of a thorough training program for teachers in reading instruction for children. <br>This last year I was able to be a part of the team that went down to help one of the schools that Child Aid is supporting with training for teachers and books for children! <br>As part of a team that painted a village school, I was able to see, firsthand, the minimal supplies that teachers in the Guatemalan schools have. I was reminded of a school in Tanzania, Africa where I spent a month supporting and training teachers, only the teachers in this Guatemalan school had even fewer materials to use! For that reason, it was pure joy to visit the headquarters of the organization and see the cases of books that were to soon to be available to these teachers and students! <br>It was, however, even more thrilling to have the chance to meet with the training team and see the well organized objectives and lessons and the passion of these trainers! <br>I have had the opportunity to teach many reading classes to teachers throughout the USA, and the thoroughness of the training plans and the ongoing support to the teachers and schools that I saw on this visit convinced me that this is a program that I must continue to support! I might add that the group that I was with was made up of mostly former educators, too. It was their encouragement and enthusiasm for this program that caused me to take an interest in Child Aid! <br>I am most grateful for having had the chance to see the quality of training that is provided to the teachers of Guatemala through Child Aid and look forward to further involvement with them. <br>Sincerely, <br>Bobbi Donnell<br><br>

I support Death with Dignity. <br>My very dear grandparents both died from cancer. <br><br>Really, they died from voluntary refusal of food and fluids, pumped with morphine (that barely managed their pain) as a result of the cancer that was killing them. <br><br>It made me rage - it made my heart break - that these two wonderful, giving, caring people had to have their family watch them suffer and die this terrible way. Worse - that of all the wonderful memories...this is my last memory of them. <br><br>And so, for those that are dying from an illness that is killing you (and for 'us', the people that that love them). L'Arche is an International Federation dedicated to the creation and growth of homes, programs, and support networks with people who have intellectual disabilities. It was founded in 1964 when Jean Vanier, the son of Canadian Governor General Georges Vanier and Pauline Vanier, welcomed two men with disabilities into his home in the town of Trosly-Breuil, France. Today, it is an international organization operating 146 communities in 35 countries around the world. <br>

While volunteer opportunities with De Paul can be limited at times, their work is top notch. As a community volunteer and friend of parents with a teenager with addiction issues, I know that they were very satisfied with the treatment and care their child received. They have a wonderful family program. Regardless of the client's age, including family or caring friends in the recovery process has proven to produce good results for clients and their families. Volunteers are always needed to serve on committees to organize events, help raise funds, work on projects, etc. They are respected by their peers and the community alike.

Hands On is a national organization but Hand On Portland is especially effective in its role. <br> <br>I have volunteered with this organization for over 7 years. Thaey act as a great liason between non-profits that need help and the large volunteer base in the Portland metropolitan area. They also have an amazing Teamworks program that builds community through small groups volunteering at a number of different non-profits that share a theme. <br> <br>Everyone has a pet non-profit. But HoP works to connect each of these organizations with volunteers in a clear and effective manner.

At a time in our country where corporations have unprecedented influence on public policy, OSPIRG is a champion of the public interest. I have been an OSPIRG member and donor for years, and have been very impressed with some of their accomplishments, both at the local scale, here in Oregon, and nationally as part of USPIRG. They have been known in the past for their environmental work, but recently have been focused on consumer issues. Such as stopping tax-payer subsidies for big agra businesses like Mosanto, and keeping health insurance rates down in Oregon. Every year, a canvasser comes to my door to renew my membership. I don't normally give to organizations at my doorstep, but the canvassers from OSPIRG are extremely professional and well informed about the issues, and I feel comfortable supporting them this way.

I have been working with the National Crittenton Foundation for five years. I have partnered with many national non profit organizations over the years and I can truly say this is one of the most thoughtful, impactful, and genuine voices for children and youth that I've ever had the honor of knowing. The most impressive thing about Crittenton is how they listen to the voices of girls and young women to inform their advocacy. They truly have the needs, experiences, challenges, and successes of the individual girls front and center in their work. <br> <br>The collective voice of the local Crittenton agencies is making a difference in ensuring that girls and young women who are victims of abuse, neglect and sexual violence get the right help at the right place at the right time. They have changed the way I look at the world for the better and given me new hope about the incredible strength and resilience of survivors.

I am currently serving as a den leader in a Cub Scout pack. I really love the camp properties available to scouts in Oregon. My son and I are making many beautiful memories together. I am considering making a contribution to Friends of Scouting, and I was disappointed to see the donor advisory. Child abuse is a serious crime, and I don't think anyone should donate to charities where children are being harmed, but the incident cited happened 30-40 years ago. The BSA has made significant changes since then to protect children from dangerous volunteers. The BSA is now the model that other youth organizations follow. How long will that advisory remain?
