I am very disheartened that I finally found a dog that "spoke" to me and felt a connection with ready to provide a good, loving home but was turned away. Turned away because, as my dog is deceased, I can't show proof of some medical information. I now cannot adopt a dog. Even though the last year, my dog was ill and the vet has numerous bills, treatments and testing I paid for showing I take care of my animals. I have always bought from rescue facilities and never had the scrutiny as this one gives. No one checked my references or anything. I guess if your dog is deceased, it's best not to mention you had a dog because I'm not sure how you can provide them with the information they need.

Our dog, Teddy, went missing from our pet sitter while we were out of town. We were absolutely distraught to hear that, so we rushed home and immediately began posting on multiple Facebook groups. One group was Missouri Lost and Found Paws. The volunteers who run things were absolutely amazing. Within days, the group helped us network to others who could help search the areas with us, provided tips for lost pets, and had valuable other insight. The page was also instrumental in helping share possible sightings, share updates, etc. We were finally reunited after 4 1/2 months of searching of Mo Lost and Found Paws and their volunteers made all the difference. In additional to the work they do on the page, they also host clinics to check microchips, fundraiser to purchase microchip scanners and go out searching for lost pets in their free time. They are truly an amazing organization.

The founder is hypocritical and gives her daughter and favorite special treatment. They don’t seem to genuinely care about the dogs. If you say something or act they don’t like, they spread lies and rumors to damage your reputation and try to get you blacklisted from rescues.

People don't realize what it takes, emotionally & financially to rescue and rehome animals. If your application hasn't been responded to perhaps your application isn't up to snuff. My experience with this organization is very positive. I drove to a foster home in Moberly to see a dog and realized it was not suited to my family. Gina, was the lady I talked with. She was polite, courteous and understanding. I will see her again if another dog becomes available.

They lie about known issues with their animals. Part of the adoption process, is to know what you're getting--pluses and minuses. When I asked why my newly adopted animal was showing concerning behaviors, they were very rude and acted like it was my fault. I was not impressed by them.

I just made another donation to this marvelous nonprofit organization. Project Precious Paws does so much for this community - it's human and nonhuman residents!

This is a great organization! There is no overhead so all the donations go directly to help the animals. It is 100% run by volunteers. Their dedication to helping their dogs and cats and finding them furever homes is amazing. They are a very compassionate organization and go out of their way to take care of as many animals as they can. I cannot recommend them enough!

My son with high-functioning ASD, anxiety, depression and bipolar disorder has gotten a service dog from Paws4Autism. It has changed his life, he went from missing large portions of the school day (in office or sensory room) and almost being dismissed from school, not because he was bad or fighting but because they couldn't provide him the resources he needed. Once Jason (his service dog) started school he dropped from 1-1 para to a half-time para and days without leaving the class once. We got to stop his medicine to help him sleep at night, Jason sleeps with him and he can go to sleep without the meds. When he does get overwhelmed, he and Jason can regroup and go back to participating, before Jason that would be us leaving or giving up for the rest of the day to recover.<br><br>Paws4Autism was an amazing organization to work with. Prior to working with them to get Jason, neither my husband or I had ever had a dog, so we didn't know basic information about dog training/caring for a dog, let alone what you need to do to work with a trained service dog. They worked with us on every step (making sure dog sits before meal, never thought of that) to how to work with Jason and my son when there is a melt-down. They provided us all the resources we need to maintain the training. When it was time to start school, they met with the school, gave the teachers training and resources, answered any and all questions and spent 3-full days on-site to help teachers/staff/administration adjust to their first service dog. The process was seamless due to the extra effort of this organization.<br><br>Paws4Autism was one of the lowest cost service dogs we found, but they also had several activities throughout the year, they set up and hosted where you could help or bring family/friends to help fundraise for your child directly. When we did have our own fundraiser they attend and gave their presence and support.
