The Jamestown 4-H Center provides affordable educational summer camping opportunities for youth and adults. We also provide VA''s school age youth with environmental education experiences. The Jamestown 4-H Center is dedicated to the individual development of youth and adult through experiential learning, to promote their advancement of life skills, knowledge, and attitudes that will enable them to become self-directing and contributing members of society, socially and environmentally. Our vision is "To provide the best educational experiences for youth and adults, which foster their growth and development in a quality year-round facility".


The Jamestown 4-H Center, an accredited camp with the American Camping Association, serves youth and adults from 22 counties/cities in Northeast VA providing affordable educational summer camping opportunities for all youth. The 4-H Center also serves as a training location for leadership development for teen and adult volunteers along with Extension personnel. Annually 2,000 youth and adults participate in the 4-H camping and wilderness adventure programs. Youth from across the state receive environmental education instruction through day and overnight trips to the 4-H Center during the school year. The 4-H Center classes provide ancillary support to VA's teachers in meeting the current curriculum requirements for the SOL through hands-on learning experiences. Additionally, individuals use the services of the 4-H Center for their training, retreats, family camps, company picnics, or meeting site.
