PVA-WI makes a meaningful difference in the lives of veterans with SCI/D, MS, and ALS, as well as their families and caregivers. One of the most inspiring parts of PVA-WI's mission is adaptive sports. I've seen veterans gain confidence, improve their physical and mental well-being, discover new passions, and build lasting friendships through these programs. The sense of community, support, and encouragement is truly incredible. PVA-WI's commitment to helping veterans live fuller, more independent lives is evident in everything they do.

I’ve been volunteering at almost home for 8 months now and it has become one of the most important parts of my life! The way everyone cares so much for these cats and there is such a community at this small rescue is truly amazing. I have the opportunity to be on the medical team here while I’m in school for pre-veterinary medicine and am already learning so much from the amazing people here. I love all the cats at the rescue like they’re my own and plan on being a part of almost home as long as I live in Milwaukee.

Over 12 yrs ago I saw a plea on FB about a special needs kitten named Gemma looking for a foster home. I took that kitten into my home and fell in love. I knew nothing about MPA but met the director Lisa, who helped facilitate their care. Her love for the animals in her organization is clear to see, constantly striving for what is best for their care, diet, and well-being. Sadly, baby Gemma succumbed to an illness that crushed my heart so deep that I didn't think I would overcome. The director Lisa sat with me and we cried together and all the endless calls to check on me. It took a couple months before I was ready to foster again. Meet Tucker and Tiffany. Throughout the years, Lisa has provided the support and constant knowledge about keeping my babies healthy and thriving. 12 year old cats with the blood work of a 2 year old cats. This organization cares about what is best for the animals in its organization. I'm happy to be apart of MPA, it changed my life! Thank you Lisa

After Eastside Social Services helped me while I was still working I promised that when I retired I would help them. Over the years I have driven many people who needed rides to doctor's appointments and various hospital sessions. I always felt that I was genuinely helping in an important way. The gratitude of the riders was really humbling and heart-warming. Eastside Senior Services (ESS) is an amazing organization. I really encourage anyone who is looking for a way to really help Seniors to join with ESS in their wonderful mission. Retired Elementary teacher

My first ALS  symptom occurred in 2016, but was diagnosed in 2018. I had severe symptoms ranging from shortness of breath, balance problems, couldn't walk without a walker or a power chair, i had difficulty swallowing and fatiue. I was given medications which helped but only for a short burst of time, then I decided to try alternative measures and began on ALS Formula treatment from Aknni herbs centre, It has made a tremendous difference for me (Visit ww w. aknniherbscentre.c om). I had improved walking balance, increased appetite, muscle strength, improved eyesight and others.

This organization saves the lives of Veterans and makes the lives of others better - I am tremendously blessed to be a part of it. Not only does Saber Six bring its members and their families together and provide them with purpose, belonging, and motivation, but it also teaches other organizations how to do the same thing (to replicate the same excellence).

This non-profit has been closed. Healing Warrior Hearts and the Starfish Foundation continue the work. <br>Patricia Clason was one of the original authors of the program Vets Journey Home, known first as The Bamboo Bridge. Patricia Clason authored Healing Warrior Hearts and continues helping veterans do their emotional healing work.

I donated blood twice with them because they're such a wonderful charity that helps people in need.

Fisher House Wisconsin is a "home away from home" for families of veterans and active-military receiving care at a Wisconsin VA. I've been on the Board since 2016, and I feel humbled every day by the stories of veterans and their families, and the ability to be together free of cost while receiving treatment. The donor base and volunteers are enthusiastic and energized by the cause. And I am honored to be a part of Fisher House Wisconsin!

We are blessed to be part of the Above The Cloud family. We love the staff. Our girls love interacting with the staff and other families there. The teachers are amazing. Above all, we love that it is based on the Christian faith. <br>Thank you for all you do for our kids and us all.

GH is one of those places that wdon't people away and treats everyone the same way. They are great with supplying people with food, clothing and shelter when available. One of the things I appreciate is the "Low Barrier" policy in place. Meaning there's no judgment, just help. GH helps a bunch of people daily and with the help from the community and communities around, even more can be done. I love how the GH women would cook and serve good old home cooked meals for the guys.<br><br>Dee

The first time I heard their founder Brad speak I realized immediately that there was a whole world of need that I was completely missing because it wasn't visible to me in my own life. Once you really start thinking about this with the perspective that these are children & the impact on their health and mental wellness it hits even harder. The work that Courage does is admirable and I've continued to support them since I heard that talk on day one. Their aspirations to continue to support our LGBTQ+ community in a bigger way is very worthwhile.

This non profit got in touch with me right back quick and was able to help when I was in need of dog and cat food I didn’t have a way there and a nice volunteer delivered to me they go above and beyond to help are 4 legged fur babies and very understanding and not judgementL

As an artist working on the same floor in the Marshall Building as ArtWorks I see and hear a lot about ArtWorks. I am so impressed with the leadership and educational format of the sessions and how the students rise with this. I see the students emerging at the beginning of their experience with uncertainty and watch their growth toward maturity in understanding of art concepts, teamwork, kindness, communication and leadership flourish. It's an amazing program. Adding here, that I'm an art educator of over 30 years and this organization makes my heart sing.

My daughter was diagnosed with Endometriosis at the age of 12, and the Endometriosis Association has been a very helpful resource. She now volunteers there.

This is an awesome charity. This organization relies solely on the people to donate, it does not take anything from the government. I have been involved with this charity for the last 15 years, it gives food on the holidays, summer outings and also outings at the individual senior complexes. They are always looking for people to help deliver meals or help make them for Christmas Thanksgiving or Easter. I also personally donate my time every Tuesday during the summer for the retreat that they take the seniors on at the Blue Lotus Retreat.

As a longtime Wisconsin resident, I had been aware of the Wisconsin Humane Society's work and positive reputation for years. My direct interactions with the organization, however, began in 2020 and confirmed the many wonderful things I previously had heard about the nonprofit. <br>In early 2020, our cat Cinza passed away. We were aware that the WHS Milwaukee campus (and several of their other campuses) offer grief counseling in the form of a Pet Loss Seminar, so we attended that seminar after Cinza's passing. The seminar played a vital role in enabling us to process our grief -- I am grateful for the compassion, support, and knowledge the WHS staff and volunteers provided us at that time. <br>Then in October 2020, our family decided to adopt a new companion and we visited the cats available for adoption at the WHS Milwaukee campus. We met and adopted our current companion Winnie during that visit. Despite the fact that it was during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Milwaukee campus personnel made us feel very safe, wore masks, maintained social distancing, etc. In addition, Winnie was an adult cat in the Wisconsin Humane Society's Name Your Fee/No Fee program. That program makes it very affordable to adopt regardless of the economic situation. (In our case, we provided a donation to at least help cover the spay surgery, microchip, behavior and medical assessments, and other services that Wisconsin Humane Society provides for ALL of the cats and dogs in their adoption program.) <br>Ultimately my experiences with the Wisconsin Humane Society have been extremely positive and I highly recommend them to anyone looking to adopt or foster an animal.

Over 54 years of training some of Wisconsins most talented youth. KIDS has evolved and now offers year round programming that brings music to some of the most underserved youth!

I will never step foot in a Childrens Hospital again… My beautiful niece of 19 has been going there her entire life… Children’s did not listen to the Mother that knows her child the best best… and she died on their clock… I will never forgive them.. My heart is so empty and broken due to them playing God!!’

For my time volunteering at Re-Imagine education I worked as a marketing and communications volunteer. I focused mainly on the social media aspect of marketing as well as creating marketable canvases for the big events. Not only was the non-profit extremely professional, it also helped me gain tools and knowledge for my degree that will immensely help me in the real world. I am extremely grateful for my time with Re-Imagine as well as the mentorship from Isiah King.
