While I am also an active volunteer with GALT, the most important role they have played in my life is introducing me to my last three greyhounds, Rex, Philip, and Jed. They take the placement of the hounds in their care very seriously, and are always available if questions arise. The board of directors continues to help GALT remain a resource for hounds and humans alike.

NBGR is the best rescue I’ve had the pleasure to foster for and adopt from. They genuinely have true compassion for the Brussel Griffons they rescue, whether pure bred or mix. The associates work very hard and long hours to provide the best care and futures for these dogs! I just recently fostered a smooth coat named Molly, and yes I had to adopt her. She integrated pretty immediate with my pack and loved every moment. She is packed with sweetness, playfulness and loyalty all in a compact 11 year old body. She is my third BG I adopted through NBGR, all fantastic furbabies! My BG obsession started when I found a rough coat at a shelter in Florida. That was CeCe and the obsession and love took off from there! If you are looking for the best breed and the best trusted rescue, then look no further then NBGR. I had the pleasure of meeting Lisa and Scott in 8/2025 when I volunteered to transport a cute little dog from Mesquite to Plano. Their love for the animals and their passion for rescue shines from them. 🫡

We took in a litter of 4 chihuahua mixes from a country property. The mother is a black chihuahua. We don’t know what dad is. <br>They were at the sanctuary in quarantine less than 48 hours and went to a foster home. <br><br>When people adopt from us they sign an agreement that if anything is wrong with the name pup they contact us so we can offer vet service thru our vets who give us discounts and we pay for that. If they go to their own vet we are not responsible for the bill. <br>If something is wrong we also offer to take the pup back and refund the adoption fee. <br>2 of the pups broke with distemper after adoption; 2 were fine. <br>We refunded the adoption fee for the pups which broke after adoption. <br>Distemper is a disaster this year; last time we saw distemper was in 2019 and that was brought on by a bad vaccine. <br>The SPCA and multiple shelters have had to shut down because of distemper. Rural<br>Vets are admonishing people<br>In the country to get their pets vaccinated because the wildlife is spreading it and distemper is airborne. <br>The pups that come to us are quarantined in an enclosed climate controlled puppy room, away from any other dogs. Everything constantly gets cleaned and disinfected. We wear clean clothes when we enter the pup room.<br>When pups are a-symptomatic and outwardly perfectly healthy there is no testing for parvo or distemper. If tested it will come back negative. One pup was taken to a vet immediately after adoption and received a clean bill of health. Yet it broke with distemper about 10 days later. <br><br>We offer vet services thru our vets on our account <br>We offer to take the pup back and refund the adoption fee<br>We clean and disinfect and separate and segregate the dogs and pups<br>We vaccinate when the pups are old and big enough <br>But just like so many shelters and organizations this year we had pups break with distemper after adoption. <br>

Texas Pawprints is outstanding. They look not just to place cats, but to find the best fit for both cats and families. They work with potential adopters to find the best fit before placing any pets. In the rare cases it doesn't work out, they aren't a bit judgmental. The volunteers work tirelessly, giving so much of their time and treasure. It is absolutely a labor of love.

I cannot recommend the Warrior Dog Foundation highly enough! This organization truly does incredible work for the Military Working Dogs and special operations K9s who have given everything to protect us. Steve

Stephanie Hanson should not be in rescue. If you look up others experiences with her in rescue on Facebook you will see proof why. She keeps dogs crated 24/7 in their own feces and pee. She dumps them in boarding when she is unable to pay rent at all the properties she burns bridges with. She is neglecting dogs with medical needs because she can not afford to pay the bills and animals are suffering because of her. She was already removed from the Dallas Animal Advisory Commission. She has a sick individual into pup play fetish taking care of the rescue dogs and she will gaslight you if you speak up.

Horses are well taken care of and this is a beautiful legit organization

American Dog Rescue is a great organization, especially when the founder, Arthur Benjamin, goes above and beyond. Arthur is a man who loves animals and who, through his individual efforts and through those of American Dog Rescue, has set out to make a difference in this world for others.

I’ve been volunteering with DPA since 2022, and it’s been such a rewarding experience! Dallas Pets Alive really lives out its mission of saving animals, educating the community, and offering support to anyone whenever it’s needed. They genuinely care about both animals and people. I can’t recommend them enough and always suggest them to anyone looking for help with animals.

More than 10 years ago we began adopting from Dachshund Lovers of Texas Rescue. Then one day we decided we just needed to start fostering and now more than 6 ½ years later we have fostered more than 60 dogs in our home. Why? Because of the heart of this Rescue. We may not be able to save every dachshund who is in need out there, but for the ones we do save, we change their world, give them another chance and sometime love they never knew before. Regardless of a dogs medical conditions, every time they are willing to go to great lengths to do whatever is necessary to restore health, stop pain and bring quality of life back to a dog regardless of age. Making sure a new home is the perfect fit and truly being an advocate for every dog. I am blessed and honored to be a part of a little rescue with a huge heart!

Similar experience as others who've contacted them - I contacted them multiple times asking for help when a mom abandoned her month old kittens. They kept me hanging for WEEKS saying one of their volunteers would contact me. Again, WEEKS went by and nothing!!! When I complained all they could say is 'we're volunteers' and then proceeded to tell me they 'could only lend traps and teach others how to help'. Really?! After weeks of the back and forth that is the response?! PLEASE don't waste your time with them.<br>I wasted valuable time, waited weeks while the kittens grew and now their chances of being adopted are slim.

Unfortunately, a disgruntled ex-volunteer has been on an unhinged obsessive mission for over 2 years to discredit this organization's reputation, so take the reviews here with a grain of salt. There is indisputable proof that the founder of this organization never raised a dime for her accessory business from any database from this non-profit. I know because I am the Co-founder and CFO of the accessory brand mentioned in one of these reviews and I am willing to share the proof with any interested party. for over 12 yrs I have supported Kittico /always a nice Christmas present for years when I was still working/later as much as possible/I had always had dogs as my pets/I began to see baby kittens around with out a mom or any care/or a mom cat with a kitten in her mouth moving/I had other neighbors help me find kitten and a few adults/I did not want them to die or go to the pound for the gas chamber/with the help of my good neighbors and Kittico/over 10yrs we have had not one baby kitty in oor area/yes some adults cats have appeared/kittico helped with these/all the cats we provide shelter and food and medical care if needed/with the help of Kittico we have or had over 40 or 50 cats find help/Thank You KITTICO/helen blackwell

If I could leave zero stars, I would. We adopted a dog from Hearts & Bones in December and it has been a horrible expiernece, from start to present. Their fosters are wildly irresposibile and not held accountable for misrepresenting the dogs' behaviors. We were told repeatedly that the dog we adopted was a "sweet little snuggle bug", and that he ended up in the shelter because of a one-time bite, under stress, in a medical facility with his dying owner. They even went so far as to tell us the dog was an emotional support animal, which led us to believe he was well-mannered and adaptable in a variety of environments. The dog showed aggressive behaviors, directly in front of the foster, in our home on day 1, and she acted like it was a fluke. We reluctantly agreed to keep the dog only after the foster repeatedly promised to take the dog back if it doesn't work out. Fast forward the 3 months the rescue recommended to fully acclimate the dog to our home, and his aggressive behaviors still persist. This entire ordeal has been nothing short of traumatizing for our entire family, especially our 4-year old son. We reached out to Hearts & Bones for help, stating the issues and asking for them to take the dog back, as they initially promised. Their response was in direct contradiction of their mission statement, because their only soluation was for us, the adopters, to euthanize the dog...or bring the dog 300 miles to them so they can put him down. Hearts & Bones only cares about emptying their kennels and making a profit - I wish we had never gotten involved with these terrible people disguised as a rescue!

Wonderful Greyhound adoption group! In the past nearly 20 years, I've adopted & fostered a number of dogs from GU. I have also spent a number of years volunteering at different events. Knowledgeable board members and volunteers. The greyhounds are well taken care of . GU not only takes in retired racing greyhounds, they also take in greyhound mixes and other sighthound breads and finds the appropriate homes for all dogs in their care.

Message to Paws as I can't mention any names. Do your research before you tell anyone that contacts you I have never fostered for Paws. Here are a few of my fosters: Buttons, Enzo, Gretchen and Buddy. I stopped fostering because my oldest schnauzer was having a lot of health issues and her daughter passed away suddenly in Jan of 2014. The same month I fostered Gretchen who was also a white schnauzer. I promote Paws and give kudos all the time. Shame on you for making me look like a liar to a friend I referred to Oaws. I've donated money and I've volunteered my time for events. I still get e mails from Paws. A very disheartening thing to do! <br><br>I ask that you please clear the air with Ashley that called you about a lost yorkie. I did not want the dog. I gave her your information because I was sure y'all would help her.

Dogs Matter is an Amazing Organization to Help Pet Owners during their time in a Treatment Facility for their Addiction. I fostered a little Yorkie while her Owner got help. I took very good care of Sophie. I sent pictures and videos to her Owner. I even took Sophie to see her Owner which was great for Both. My dog had TPLO surgery at Chew because that's where the mobile orthopedic vet I wanted to do the surgery does his surgeries... When I made the appointment they seemed very friendly and helpful. However things changed once the surgery was over. I never got a call from Chew after surgery making sure my dog was okay. After surgery he bled a lot. He bled from his incision for 3 days. When I called Chew and asked if that was normal I was told YES. He then started having major fluid build up and was leaking from his incision a lot so I called them worried something was terribly wrong and again I was told it was normal. I ended up calling my regular vet and sending them photos and I was prescribed a strong antibiotic for Apache which helped (I should have gotten it sooner). I never could talk to the surgeon... I always had to go through Leigh. She had to control everything. She was abrasive and unprofessional when she spoke to me. I do not know if my messages for the surgeon got to him in whole/correctly or if his responses were relayed to me in whole/correctly and I was unable to ask him any questions as everything went through Leigh. My dog had so many complications that I was bringing him to Chew almost weekly for 2 months after surgery. He began defecating on himself every single time he had to go to Chew which is something he had never done before. I asked Leigh on the phone about it and asked if any staff slammed kennel doors around him or anything that would make him so nervous that he would do that and she took my question wrong and extremely personally. She would actually bring it up every chance she got. I tried to be so gracious even though I was treated so horribly and I even brought the clinic a handwritten thank you card and chocolates - not one person mentioned them to me and Leigh was still so mean and unprofessional towards me that I would leave the clinic crying most visits. My dog ended up having an open wound at his incision site for almost 4 whole months. Halfway through those 4 months he had to have a second surgery to remove the TPLO hardware. The entire experience was so stressful and upsetting for me and my dog that I started to have severe anxiety attacks and was prescribed anxiety medication by my doctor. I never saw Leigh speak to clients the way she spoke to me. Finally things got so bad that I was able to speak to the surgeon one day and he gave me his email address to email him directly and not have to deal with Leigh any longer. This made things a lot better and everything calmed down - even when I would see her at the clinic. My experience with the surgeon (who has done TPLO before on a rescue dog for me) was always good.... It was my experience with Leigh at Chew that was so unprofessional and so awful. My plan was always to write this review as everything was happening with her, but after it was all done I just was happy it was over. However, my dog just tore his other ACL so of course I called Chew to get him in while the same surgeon was there for an X-ray and once again, in her unprofessional and petty manner, Leigh has refused to allow my dog to have surgery at Chew. The orthopedic surgeon is now having to find a facility where he can perform the TPLO on my dog and it is delaying his surgery leaving him to suffer with his injury. Mind you he is a 105 lb dog so this is very serious for him. This is extremely unethical of Leigh. She is making my dog suffer because she has a personal issue with me. I know people write great reviews about Chew but I haven't had the same experience others write about. I feel there is a personal issue that she has with me and she took it out on my dog and she was extremely hateful and unprofessional towards me.

They have the Best Veterinary and Staff that provide Top Notch Healthcare for the Bulldogs. They place these dogs with Approved Loving Fur ever Homes. They have about a 100 Volunteers that take Sweet Bulldogs and love them, nurture the dogs, get them ready to be Adopted. People come far away to Adopt a Bulldog from this Amazing Rescue. LSBCR are the #1 Dog Rescue in Texas

Great Greyhound Adoption group. Prior to Adoption the greyhounds are fostered and well cared & loved. The adoption process is easy, the volunteers are helpful. I'm grateful I was able to adopt my greyhound from TAGS.
