I've been volunteering with Brother Wolf Animal Rescue for several years, mostly taking animals out for the day and helping with cleaning. From the start, I was impressed by the thoroughness of their training. The organization really invests in helping volunteers learn and grow to maximize their impact. Beyond their effective and tireless work saving lives, what keeps me coming back is the people. The volunteer management team and staff working with the animals are deeply caring and dedicated. They do a tremendous job creating impactful and rewarding volunteer opportunities, and are wonderful and building community among volunteers. There is a genuine sense of belonging. If you're thinking about volunteering, I'd definitely recommend it. They clearly care about both the animals and the people helping out.

This organization is beautiful, I love the connection we have with the Sun and The Earth, and Archangels, Christ, I experienced love directly from the sun and his energy thanks to my Mentor friend Mama Nuiyuan. personally I can say his love is pure for each of us. I connected to the ocean, I saw the Mother in him directly. When budha and his students were accused for some incoherent accusations, Budha said don't be upset or angry, and the Truth will be revealed alone. Anyways we know who we are and we don't operate in ego. We love, and students that are accusing him are not in the heart, we always see our reflection 🪞. I personally know by Yogananda's book and what Mama Nuiyuan has taught me the power of Love, and love would never never hurt or harm in anyway others. I learned how to love thanks to Mama's example. In Yogananda's book says if a student goes back to the world will never return. And the Sad Part is that some who received his care, are hurting him. I bless the truth.

The World Bridge Foundation is a nonprofit organization in the United States and a public charity in Uganda that works to improve the lives of people in both countries. In February of 2026, I was a participant in a group from the United States that spend two weeks with them in Uganda. I found it to be very meaningful to thus experience the daily life and culture of Uganda directly. This journey allowed me to view some of the remarkable beauty of their natural areas, to appreciate the majesty of their culture, especially their music, to see some of the challenges they face, and to gain a fresh perspective on challenges the United States now faces. During our time in Uganda, we visited several youth support institutions that they support, and interacted with staff and young clients. I found these institutions to be lively and joyful, and the young clients to be appreciative of the opportunity that was thus provided for them. I’m proud to support W Bridge including the donation of money.

We love Growing Wild! My daughter has transformed into a more confident, imaginative and social version of herself, all while fostering her love of being outdoors. We love hearing the songs she learns from school, seeing all the creative nature themed crafts, and hearing about her day playing with her buddies in the forest. The teachers here are so caring, passionate and enthusiastic, and are so incredibly kind and knowledgeable. You can tell they love what they do and care deeply to nurture and bond with the kids. I love that my daughter is blooming and getting this wonderful exposure to nature so early in life, learning first hand about weather, seasons, animals, gardening, camping, hiking, native plants and so much more. Coming from a traditional preschool, Growing Wild is a breath of fresh air - literally!

I work closely with NAMI, as a mental health provider and peer support. They go above and beyond to provide support and resources through a variety of groups, community events, activities, and a safe place for people to gather. I often refer people there.

As a native of Asheville, I was there at Pisgah Legal's inception, as the creators were friends with my family in this small community. Pisgah Legal has helped me personally and countless others who I connected with or referred to them, because I work in mental health/substance use/IDD and persons who experience homelessness. It is an invaluable resource for our community!

I have been going to Monford Park Players since I was a child, 45 years ago, and started taking my own child when she was 2. This is enjoyable for any age. The set is fantastic. I love sitting outdoors, bringing a picnic, going with family and friends. I have donated costumes in the past. It's located behind Montford Community Center, in historic Monford neighborhood, with its beautiful homes, great restaurants (Nine Mile is a must!) and marker that describe its rich African-American history. And it's by donation!

I am both a volunteer and a donor to Helpmate and I believe they are one of the best non-profits I've had the pleasure of working with! Their attention to and concern for their clients is evident in every aspect of their work. Their treatment of their employees, whose work is inherently taxing and stressful, is fair and compassionate. They are very present in the larger community and do a great job of outreach to survivors of domestic violence. Their services cover the gamut of what any survivor would need in the process of coping and moving ahead with their lives.

The Irene Wortham Center has a five-star reputation with regard to its credentials and the services it provides for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities; more importantly, it has a true place in the heart of the consumers and families with whom it has engaged since 1961. A jewel in the community!

Thank you for allowing First of WNC to be the leaders they are as Community Navigators. They set the bar. Thank you for listening to Janet’s feedback, she speaks for many of us who want to see the world look, feel, and respond differently to our differently abled beloved children, wives, husbands, sisters, brothers, cousins, aunts, uncles, friends etc... We need them in our communities. They LIGHT them up. <br> <br>Thank you to First of WNC for hiring humans like Pam. She leads by example. Someone I know can see, hear and feel our experience because she is using hers to change the world. She is a gem regardless of her day job, however we deeply value both her ability to relate AND her knowledge of the waiver.

This place is misappropriating funds. They underserve communities of color while always presenting an image that African-Americans are a focus. The internal aspect of the organization moves more like a gang of friends than professionals who want to actually make a change. They should and will be reported for their activities and the salaries of the individuals involved and receipts for expenses should be audited by the IRS and appropriate news organizations.

My experience with SeekHealing is through the people in my life who have benefited from their direct connections. My partner is heavily involved in the organization. Focusing on creating authentic connections greatly influences the person he is in a positive way. His involvement gives him a sense of purpose and adds meaning to his life. I have other friends who have been involved with the organization and used the resources provided. The way they speak about the organization and its impact on their lives brings a sense of hope for the disconnected world we live in. I have recommended SeekHealing to many people who are starting their path to recover from trauma and substance abuse. I feel that the approach is an excellent supplement to traditional forms of recovery services.

Shelter dog transport alliance saves thousands of shelter dogs and cats every year. I enjoy walking dogs before their transports. Everyone is helpful & welcoming. As an all volunteer run nonprofit they work really hard to save animals. Thank you SDTA!

Amazing heartfelt productions. Everyone in the org is very friendly and a pleasure to work with.

Fun science and children's museum in downtown Asheville. Perfect place to spend and hour or two. Looks to have a ton of STEAM programing from Saturday science activities, field trips, and after schools.

Apparently, for being informed on the group and what they offer to people coming to meet and maybe practice with them, there's a lot of insistence and donations. That was the big thing that kept me from an in-depth dialogue with whoever could've really communicated to me what the coven is about. I'm sure they have valid reasons for protecting their group and faith, but I tried to be forthcoming and ask questions upfront, and I'm still lost.

Before you all get defensive please let me tell you what the Asheville Humane Society did to me after all I did for them as a devoted volunteer. The PAID STAFF are simply the coldest rudest Humans I have ever worked with. They treat volunteers horribly. Rude and heartless. I fostered my kitty Debra and then adopted her. Not one of them ever mentioned or asked about her. I sent a few photo to them and was told never do that again. That the message thread was strictly for business only. What planet are they on? I Knitted many ADOPTION blankets that went home with the babies and really helped them feel loved and cared for. The staff made very little of it and hardly thanked me although I do it for the precious animals and not for humans. I never said no to anything asked of me and always showed up for my volunteer work never did I miss. Even did my Birthday fundraiser on Facebook and made money for them. I was treated so poorly that I cried many times by myself while driving home. I now volunteer for another wonderful rescue and shelter in the area and it's like a breath of fresh air. Although the Asheville Humane Society has and does help many precious bundles of joy I will say that they do it and get highly paid for that. You can go online and see their salaries. Volunteers??????‍♂️ ??????‍♀️ to them are invaluable and they don't care anything about us. It's all about the money ??????. I refuse to put up with human bull crap including so called animal rescues. I will be the change this world ?????? wishes to see even if it means telling the truth and being an outcast. The universe is what serve and not silly egotistical humans. Ali Volunteer Manager, Kat relocation manager with the ludicrous PINK HAIR, Erin and Evie Foster Manager who check you out while filling out the paperwork in the street and not inside the facility even if u work there and Tina the adoption manager who told me in her own words "she had no idea what she was doing" after not even knowing that my kitty I was adopting had already been spayed while checking us out are just a few of the staff who have no class and obviously were not raised well and had a poor upbringing. No one should ever have to go through the sadness I experienced trying to help precious animals. Animals have always been and always be my passion and priority until my last breath. Little did they know I had already found a truly wonderful shelter who do what they do with all their heart and without a salary it's all volunteer. Amen ????????????

Everyone who is adopting a cat should visit Binx's Home for Black Cats. They put the care and future of their cats first. Their cats have all of the tests and vaccines, are microchipped, cleared of illness, and sprayed or neutered. Binx knows their cats and carefully vets perspective adopters to ensure an excellent match. I recently adopted a new friend from Binx and the relations is off to a great start with a very bright future.

An amazing ministry that helps single mothers that are leaving abusive partners in order to protect the children. They have helped my self and friends that are in similar situations. They have made such an impact on my life and my kids lives through their emotional and financial support!

Had a severe infection and was misdiagnosed. My nurse insisted it was poison ivy and even noted I had said I had been exposed in my clinical notes, although I never said so. My concerns about having a severe weeping infection were mansplained away. I was told to come back if it ‘got worse’. When my condition did get worse (thanks to the steroids they prescribed) I was unable to use telemedicine (at south location) bc I was on a trip out of state, but they said my provider would call me back about antibiotics. No call. I drove 6 hours to return for care. At 630 they refused to see me, bc they were closing soon (1.5 hrs) and the line was too long. I explained the entire situation and pleaded to be helped, just to receive antibiotics as I had asked for on my first visit. Was given an attitude and told they ‘couldn’t help with an infection anyways, I needed to got to the Er for that’<br>Go somewhere else for care and competence, you will NOT find it here.

Our child was here for over 30 days. Within the first week we begin to question what was really going on at this facility. Staff would make late night calls to us about incidents that happened during that day and and another staff member would call us again 5 minutes later with completely different information then the one before. After questioning our case qork about staff not being on the se page before phone calls being made home we were given am apology to this happening. Our daughter was also admitted to the ER at least 12 times during her stay at Elaida and many times we weren't notified she had been transported by ambulance to the hospital until the hospital its self called us to let us know our child was there. This issue was brought to the case workers attention and all we got out of it was being told "there was just a lot going on at that time". This happened many times after! After complaining to the peer specialist about staff not supervising our child causing her to be sent to the ER over and over again, I was contacted by our case manager and told not to contact him anymore about complaints. To call me to her for handling of issues. Once our child was transferred to leave Eliada home they did not send her Christmas gifts home with her belongings or all the clothing items that had been sent during her stay back. We got sent other kids clothing! My child was so happy with a gift she received here at Christmas (ipod) and they failed to give it to us once she was released. She didn't have a Christmas at home so little things mean a lot. Further we were lied to on placements available. When the case worker was not sending the facility we chose the proper paper work for our child to receive a bed. They were wanting to release her home if we didn't sign papers for the place that available then! After following up weeks later to find out the never heard back from Eliada. And never got back with them we were crushed to learn the case manager lied to us point blank.<br> She just wasn't sending info because she was frustrated with us calling this pace out on there wrong doings and wanted rid of our child and the concerned parents that we're catching on to the misleadings they were doing. We emailed our concerns of wrong doings to the top staff at elaida- clinical director, residential director, family peer specialist. And not any of them responded back to us during our childs stay. I'm so glad they have been shut down. It's very heart breaking that so many issues with this facility went on for so long. And these children were not given the care they properly deserved. Very disgusted!

Home Advocates and Limitless Outreach were fantastic to work with in every way. They were responsive, informative and incredibly sensitive to my family’s needs. I've been involved with Read to Succeed Asheville/Buncombe since 2012, first as a reading tutor and then as a member of the Board of Directors. R2S recognizes the crucial role filled by volunteers, and provides more support than I've experienced with other volunteer organizations. The training is comprehensive; staff are skilled and supportive, the program is solidly based on proven multi-sensory, phonics-based teaching methods. Many of our volunteers (myself included) report a high level of fulfillment in teaching elementary school children to read. R2S volunteers work within the public school system as respected intervention resources. This is critical work in the City of Asheville as our literacy achievement rates are sharply divided along racial lines. Personal note: The little girl I started tutoring in 1st grade is now in high school and our relationship continues through mentoring and a deepening friendship.

I'm endlessly amazed at the high quality of events and exhibitions this museum manages to pull off with a tiny staff. They are incredibly dedicated and knowledgeable, and many museums or arts centers much larger could learn a lot from their work.
