My son had a bad reaction to his chemotherapy drugs in November of last year November 12th he was admitted to UVA hospital and on the 19th we were he was intubated and we rent ICU and we were there for 3 months finally came home February 20th meaning we were there through Thanksgiving Christmas his birthday my birthday there's Valentine's. Hog farmers reached out and checked on my son that's how he was doing didn't have to but they did and then around the holidays the goodness of the heart they sent me a $1,900 which was a godsend paid the bills that were falling behind gave my son of Christmas help me get to and from feed me I don't want to think about where I'd be if I didn't have that and I didn't ask for it they could just tell that I needed it I will always praise this charity and I'll always share it and I will always donate once I have the funds God bless the hog Farmers charity.

The Mosby Foundation was there for me when I needed help with my dog’s knee surgery. Between my grandmother’s income and my teacher income, there would have been no way for us to get her the surgery that she desperately needed. It was because of their generosity that we were able to have our little Ruby for 7 more years with us, giving her a total of 14 years as our beloved family pet. <br>The people at The Mosby Foundation didn’t just help financially. They also called to check in on how she was doing after her surgery and demonstrated an actual interest in following her progress and even checking in on my elderly grandmother, who had worried so much about her beloved Ruby. <br>We will forever be thankful to this wonderful organization and recommend them often to friends who might need help with their own beloved pets. They truly care and do all they can to help so many animals and families. <br>

I've had the opportunity to build a friendship with Greg and Charisa (Founders) over the past 5 or so years and their heart for the vulnerable in Ethiopia stirs my heart every time I am with them. From my experience (supporting/board member), I have seen Hawassa Hope walking in humility, integrity, and grace in everything they do. They do exceptionally well in equipping the team in Ethiopia to do powerful, impactful work. They don't just seek dollars, but cultivate a community of supporters that desire to love on the people of Ethiopia, not just toss money at a problem. Hawassa Hope has and always will hold a special place in my heart as it has helped me grow into the person I am today.<br>

I think the valley Mission is a very good organization. All the staff are very nice. The bad thing is a lot of FAVORITISM GOES ON IN THE PLACE. THERE WAS A FEMALE RESIDENT AND A MALE WORKING THAT TALKED ABOUT ANOTHER FEMALE RESIDENT LIKE SHE WAS SO TERRIBLE WHEN THEY HAD NO IDEA WHAT ALL THE OTHER FEMALE RESIDENT ACTUALLY DID. SOME STUFF KNEW WHAT SHE DID CAUSE SHE Was tore the hell up one night and the staff that was working that night just kept telling her she needed to go to sleep. It wasn't right. If it would have been any.other resident they would have drug tested them searched there belongings and make them leave. No one resident should have been treated any different from one another.IT SHOULD BE THE SAME RULE FOR ALL

I was appalled when I heard a tape of one of their casa agents being on drugs with his wife and that she had even confronted them about it only to be dismissed and swept under the rug. Drugs and children should be taken seriously. Me and my husband are simple disgusted by such a clear oversight for some unknown reasons.

PROSAMI is an acronym derived from the French PROmotion de la Sante Maternelle et Infantile, which stands for Promotion of Maternal and Infant Health. It is an initiative that started in order to reduce maternal and infant mortality in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The idea was inspired by a tragic life-changing event in the life of PROSAMI founder, Agnes Kanyanya. Her mother died at the age of 44 while giving birth to her baby sister, who spent her first few years in an orphanage together with several other babies who shared the same plight, having also lost their mothers to childbirth complications. Ms. Agnes later removed her little sister from the orphanage and raised her as her own child. Profoundly affected by that event and realizing the extent of the issue, she was determined to find a solution to reduce the alarmingly high rates of maternal and infant mortality in the DR Congo in order to spare other families from such devastating event. Later on, others joined PROSAMI's cause as the videos below will further explain.

I came to ComfortCare in Staunton two years ago. I was immediately taken in. From the moment that I walked through the doors at their facility, you immediately feel at home and welcomed. The beauty of ComfortCare is that they don't pass judgement are advisors not just on a doctoral level, but a personal level. They offer a variety of services for pregnancy and information pertaining to aide free of charge. I feel so blessed to have met the staff here and am a full supporter of their ease of counseling and genuine support for the women who enter their doors. They aren't pushy and try to influence you with anything and are simply there as a listening ear, medical support, and feel as though they are family.

When I was a young mother with three small children my husband and I , both working, struggled to buy our first home. After our purchase, it was difficult to even afford the very basic of needs for our family. Our mortgage took most of our income. When I found out about the Habitat for Humanity program I thought it was only for the very poor. But then I found out that the program was able to help families just like mine was. Once I started volunteering , I was able to meet the family working side by side with our volunteer team in building their home. This was a difference I could see locally. not thousands of miles away. I could actually meet the people I was helping and I knew I was making a difference for not only the family, but my community as well. The people who work and volunteer at Habitat are very dedicated people that truly care about the families and the community they live in. I was hooked the very first time I volunteered!

Meals on Wheels of Staunton, Inc. provides a well-run local alternative to the federally funded program. It has a local Board providing oversight and direction, an excellent staff leader, a cadre of committed local volunteers. <br> <br> Key Mission and Activities: Our volunteers deliver meals to persons who reside in Staunton, VA and its environs regardless of sex, age, infirmity, race, religion, creed or economic status. In addition volunteers will check on our clients and possibly provide the only contact for the day. The Board of Directors/or the Coordinator shall determine the eligibility of persons served by this program. The meals shall be furnished at cost unless the Board of Directors/Coordinator determines that the meal be furnished at less than cost or without charge. <br>These meals, ranging in need for our clients, will be delivered from one to five days a week, 52 weeks a year, including holidays. <br> The number of clients served ranges from approximately 15-20 per day or approximately 260 meals a week or 5400 meals a year. <br>

I was a volunteer at this shelter. This organization refuses to work with the local pound and travels out of the area to get dogs from other shelters instead of our pound! <br>They do not welcome volunteers or make them feel valued.

This is a non-profit supports the work of Kosi world-wide. Her satsangs in Switzerland were amazing. I highly recommend Kosi as a teacher. She is extremely ethical and her non-profit not only supports her work, but endorses several other charities.

I have been to well over 30 performances by the American Shakespeare Center. I have witnessed the transformational quality of their work in the schools and on the stage of the Blackfriars. At a time when theaters and arts organizations are dying all over the United States, the ASC is still doing its thing, supporting itself predominately through earned income and ticket sales and there aren't many theaters that can say the same. The company is scrappy and the work is hard on stage and off. Personally, I admire the organization. <br> <br>Ten years ago this organization was exclusively a touring company taking their vibrant high energy shows to colleges, performing arts centers and high schools all over the country and occasionally abroad. Now they're in a multi-million dollar recreation of Shakespeare's indoor playhouse. That's an enormous change for any business, to go from grass roots to establishment in a decade. I've been impressed by how well the company has weathered the transformation. <br> <br>And when you talk transformation, you really have to look at how the ASC's resident city, Staunton has blossomed since the Blackfriars opened its doors. The city has always been beautiful but the tourism inspired by the American Shakespeare Center's Blackfriars Playhouse has breathed new life into it. Downtown, new restaurants, a beautiful conference center, high end boutiques, coffee shops, antique dealerships and all sorts of other businesses have sprouted since and profited from the ASC's success. In fact, Smithsonian Magazine listed Staunton 10th in "The 20 Best Small Towns in America" and Travel and Leisure named Staunton one of America's Greatest Main Streets. None of that could have happened without the ASC. The Blackfriars has given a serious boost to the local economy. <br> <br>I read the revue before mine and was a little shocked by the short sighted and ill informed criticism. I guess it's pretty easy to throw anonymous jabs when you aren't looking at the big picture. The organization is small. The hours that actors, staff, and directors put in are grueling. Anybody who has worked for or owns a small or growing business can relate. It wears folks out; that's one reason so many new businesses fail. If you compare apples to apples, I think the American Shakespeare Center's track record would strike you as impressive. What they create and give back to their audiences is powerful. Anyone who loves Shakespeare and believes in the ability of the arts to transform a person or an entire community should definitely consider writing a check. The ASC will stretch the dollars as far as they can. Of that I'm certain.

I was at Heifetz Institute in 2008. Mostly every summer I attend to some summer academies and Heifetz Institute was the best one for me. I learned lots of things and met with great artists. Its so unique and incredible. Every young musician should be there at least once in their lifes :)
