This company used to be great until they got a new secretary a few years ago. We were late on a payment and she got full on racist. We're definitely looking into a lawsuit.

CASA of Lane County is one of the most well run, strategic non-profits I have had the pleasure of being associated with. In the last seven years, I have served on various committees, the board of directors and I am a donor. My husband went through the training and served as a CASA on two cases prior to my involvement with the organization. <br> <br>In my 15+ years of working for and volunteering with non-profits, I have seen few that match CASA in their strategic focus and emphasis on mission. The staff are professional and mission driven. <br> <br>The biggest challenge for this organization is for the general public to know and understand their vital roll in ensuring the safety and security of our community's most vulnerable children. But, that is changing with the organizations consistent effort to raise awareness and tell their story. My life is richer for having served this organziation.

Let me start out by saying it is hard to remain professional when speaking of this company but I will try my best to do so while getting my point across. <br><br>The #1 problem here is the Executive Director. He puts on a "front" to the Board of Directors, during All-Staff Meetings and during the Company parties such as summer picnics and Christmas parties. But on a day-to-day basis he is a bully! He curses at staff and during meetings, raises his voice to an inappropriate level, demonstrates very poor communication including selective listening, interrupts you when you're talking, breaches confidentiality, gossips, doesn't seek information for a full picture when incidents/events occur and gives off a very intimidating form of body language. This man is detrimental to this organization. <br><br>Because of the way the Executive Director treats people, the administration turn over is excruciatingly high! Just in the last 12 months, that I can recall, they have lost: Finance Director (who wasn't replaced for months), the Payroll Specialist, at least 5 Program Managers (many who haven't been replaced), the Operations Manager, 2 Program Coordinators (who have not been replaced), 2 HR Manager/Generalists, the Recruiter, and countless DSP's. <br><br>Much of the staff that work there are amazing people! My immediate co-workers were incredible! Their dedication to the Individuals is outstanding, however, that dedication results in them working countless hours of overtime. This organization contributes to the poor health and crumbling of families due to the pressure the Executive Director puts on them. They are hard workers despite the constant beat-down from the Executive Director and his select few "puppets" (who will likely see the light one day). <br><br>My heart hurts for the Individuals that are supported by this agency because they are ultimately the ones that will hurt when this ship sinks...and it will sink one day. The company is structurally and financially unstable. <br><br>I ignored reviews when I started there and I wished I hadn't. If you read this and still decide to take a job with them, please PLEASE be sure you document situations. I guarantee you they will happen and you will be glad you documented things when it crumbles! I know I am! <br><br>

In 2011, I finally realized I was in an abusive relationship. My husband constantly told me that I was worthless, cursed at me, forbid me from spending time with my family, refused to care for our then three year old son, and repeatedly threatened me with physical violence. I made the decision to file for divorce because I did not want my son, Elijah, to grow up thinking that it was okay to be verbally and emotionally abusive to anyone, let alone someone you were supposed to love. <br><br>I informed my husband of my intention to leave him. He immediately emptied our join bank account and moved out. Just a short while later, I lost my job. I went from living in a two-income household to living with no income. In no time at all, shut off notices started arriving and we were quickly running out of food and other necessities. I did not have a strong support system since I was not allowed to develop any friendships while I was married. It got to the point that I was grocery shopping out of my mom's pantry in order to feed my toddler.<br><br>With the thought of becoming homeless in the middle of winter in Oregon looming in my mind, I made, what turned out to be, a life changing phone call. I called 211info, a information and referral program funded by the United Way of Lane County, and explained my situation. I was expecting the operator to refuse to help me because I was on the verge of homelessness due to filing for divorce; my soon-to-be ex-husband was quick to point out how horrible of a mother I was for putting our son in this predicament (though he refused to pay child support). Much to my surprise, the operator was very kind and understanding. She put me in contact with an agency that was able to provide Elijah and I with a food box and some household items; Elijah also received a toy from this agency and he has it on his bed to this day (he is now 7). I was also given the contact information for an agency that paid my utility bill and yet another agency who provided counseling to Elijah and I, free of charge.<br><br>I found out later that all of these agencies, as well as 211info, received funding from the United Way of Lane County. Since acquiring a new job, I have made it my personal mission to give back to the United Way in any way I can. Without the support from United Way's partner agencies, my toddler and I would likely have been hungry and homeless in the middle of an Oregon winter. <br><br>Over the last four years, I have donated my time to the United Way by speaking about my experience with the United Way and its partner agencies every chance I get. I also participate on the steering committee for the United Way of Lane County's Emerging Leader program, a group of professionals under the age of 40 who are focused on bettering the community through volunteering and advocating. In 2014, I remarried and we asked our wedding guests to support the United Way instead of buying us another toaster. My new husband and I also donate to the United Way at the Leadership Giving level ($1,000 or more in a calendar year). <br><br>I cannot think of a more deserving nonprofit. Thousands of people in my situation, or worse off, are helped each year by the United Way of Lane County and their partner agencies. <br><br>http://www.unitedwaylane.org/ <br><br>

Our nonprofit received a generous grant from Hearts for Hospice to help create Veterans Quilts for The Pete Moore Hospice House here in Lane County. I am also a frequent shopper of their cute shop on Main Street in Springfield! The dedicated volunteers at Hearts for Hospice run this amazing resale shop and work tirelessly to have high quality items for sale, as well as at their warehouse which has furniture and other items for sale, as well as on Ebay. These volunteers are dedicated, kind and always have a smiling face when you enter the shop. They also have an amazing medical supply selection to help assist those going through difficult medical times. All monies raised through their various resale activities are then put back into the community through their grants. These grants go to local nonprofits who serve Hospice patients in varying capacities in Lane County. At Crafting Change we look forward to providing Veterans quilts to Pete Moore Hospice House thanks to their generosity. <br> <br>They maintain an excellent resale shop in Springfield with high quality merchandise and they take that money and put it right back into Lane County! It's a win win. If you haven't checked out the shop, you should. And if you aren't a thrift shopper, they are well worth your financial support.

I am very devastated and broken hearted to have to do this bury need Roy find who the pastors of this church answer to. defamation of character, gossip, bullying, harassment and lies is what my friends have endured from the female pastor of this church.

VITALS is such an asset for our community! Before VITALS opened in Springfield, Oregon in 2016, low income community members in need of low cost immigration legal services often had to travel over two hours to Portland in order to receive appropriate and affordable legal counsel. The legal team is led by a dynamic supervising attorney who has years of experience and a strong passion for justice. Keep up the amazing work, VITALS!

Questionable behavior exhibited by board members while representing The A Team has lead me to question the integrity of the organization as a non profit. The A Team has done great things in the past but these new developments have the future of the non profit looking very bleak.

A Eugene-based credit union that was formed 68 years ago as a cooperative of educators has taken the unusual step of notifying members that its top executive was paid $1.5 million last year. <br> <br>Ava Milosevich, chief executive officer at SELCO Community Credit Union, received a salary and bonus that totaled $463,068 in 2003. That puts Oregon's fifth-largest credit union third in line among such institutions for executive pay. <br> <br>Then there is the contribution of $1.15 million into Milosevich's retirement fund - which stands alone among even the largest of the state's credit unions and prompted the letter of explanation to members.

I worked for Volunteers in Medicine Clinic as an intern while working towards my graduate certificate degree in Nonprofit Management. I also was a volunteer for the clinic in the eligibility department over a course of several months. I can not say enough how wonderful and compassionate the workers are at the clinic, as well as the numerous health care professional volunteers who dedicate their time. The organization is truly effective at providing extensive health coverage to unisured patients living in Lane County.
