The executive director Jordan is sketchy.<br><br>It's concerning that he is the executive director of The Arc of California and he is so unknowledgeable about special education. In a recent Arc video, he said that "private charter schools" are not required to adhere to special education laws. Well, the FACT is that every single charter school in America is a public school and is fully legally required to adhere to all federal special education laws, including the primary law IDEA.<br><br>It's difficult to trust the information this organization puts out with Jordan at the helm. He doesn't seem competent enough to run the organization.<br><br>However, if one knows a bit about Jordan's history, particularly about a few things that happened around the time he first became the executive director of California Arc, like his odd employment situation with another organization, then perhaps one wouldn't be surprised by his false comments.<br><br>I think this organization went down hill when Tony left as executive director and Jordan came in.

My son Michael died because of wellspace failing to provide the level of health care he so desperately needed..

We've been a partner with RTS going on 10 years. I can't say enough about the professionalism, knowledge, and effectiveness of this group. The most impressive thing is their unwavering drive to help our community in such an impactful way. Our partnership has become a cornerstone of the benefits we offer within our organization. We are proud to support RTS and will continue to do so.

Along with the Institute for Justice, these guys are doing what I would do myself if I was rich and had the time. I've watched over the years as they ran interference for ALL OF US as they battle outrageous property rights violations and regulatory overstepping. I make it a point to donate at least yearly

We need more people fighting toward our civil rights! Currently my family and myself are facing a lot of legal challenges and are in the process a lot of mistakes and coverups by law-enforcement or made and to look around for somebody to help you and to find that there’s nobody available because nobody wants to face law-enforcement it’s heart wrenching because right now There is a child incarcerated and being used as a cover-up for a law enforcement error during a criminal investigation I wish you guys luck and I hope everyone can donate whatever you can to help this nonprofit organization for the sake of all of us because you never know what life challenges you’ll be facing tomorrow .

Having been with scouting for twenty years I have seen the wonderful adventures and opportunities and growth provided to our leaders of tomorrow .

My daughter has been receiving "child care services" since I returned to work almost a year ago and the experience has been awful. Timesheets aren't processed timely, staff has admitted to taking timesheets home with them then said they couldn't find it in the office, I have called to ask for a status on payment processing of timesheets with no returned call or update on status. Have had to pay for child care costs out of pocket awaiting for contract approval, it's been a night mare. I have no idea how an organization can function when the service they provide is so poor and they clearly can not administer the grants they receive accordingly. I'm completely underserved by this organization and feel like I have no other option or recourse. It's a let down and frustrating experience to say the least.

As a board member for over four years I am proud of the service we give to our California communities!

This wonderful nonprofit has been helping those in Haiti avoid disease and grow food by providing composting toilets. These toilets not only protect precious water resources, they provide rich organic matter to grow healthy crops. Definitely a win-win!

I'm one of those telemarketers you guys are talking about. We're instructed to say /a MINIMUM/ of 15% of donations go to the organization, but the truth is the real amount actually depends on how much of a contribution we can get in a day from those we call. I make minimum wage per hour, and get "swept" if I'm not bringing in $40 an hour (sent home for the rest of the shift, because probability states people just aren't feeling like donating that day) . If /I/ make the minimum, that's already 25% of one generous person's donation going to my "extravagant salary". Other people spend the whole time being unable to bring in anything, another 25% goes to cover their wage, too. Then we have others dealing with paperwork and dealing with the envelopes, calling people who have pledged but never returned their donation, the printing of the envelope and cost of postage... can you see how all of this adds up? The more successful we are at getting hourly donations, the more that actually goes to the charity, but we can't guarantee we're always going to do well. <br> <br>In a perfect world people would all have enough money and free time to collect donations for free, but the organization would be getting way less if my paper hat wearing *** wasn't getting their ears yelled at for a few measly dollars an hour in order to make you aware they even exist.

The PCTA does a fantastic job with limited personnel and budget. By leveraging the staffs skills and a huge volunteer group they not only maintain a 2,658 mile trail corridor, they work to protect it from numerous encroaching threats and see and find funding to purchase key tracks of land.

I have been involved with the Mandarins for the past 35 years - first as a member, then as an instructor, then as a parent of a member and now on the administrative staff. The Mandarins has had a hand in shaping me as an individual. I learned to come out of my shell by meeting amazing people in the corps. We created life-long friendships that last today. <br> <br>The corps has instilled values in its members that is unlike any other organization that I am aware of. Members come in as good musicians and leave as great young adults. They learn values such as hard work, teamwork, perseverance, respect all while travelling the country and meeting life-long friends. <br> <br>

I am a volunteer and board member for Junior Achievement. I believe that there is no organization better positioned to provide the K-12 youth in our community with the skills they need to succeed in work and life. Our world and the workplace have changed dramatically and our kids need to understand the new economy and have the tools they need to drive their own success. When I work with kids in the classroom, see their enthusiasm, and watch the light bulbs go off, I know that what JA is doing is working!

I am very impressed with this Rescue group and the overall health and happiness of their foster pets. They take extremely great care of the animals and are very committed to fostering, adoptions, educating and supporting their community.

This program has truly changed my life! Youth and Government not only allows kids an outlet for their political insights, but also presents a once in a lifetime opportunity for our youth to connect with other incredible people across the entire state. This program has helped me to develop in to a more self-aware and confident young adult and has enabled me to forge lasting friendships with people all across California, and for that I am forever indebted to Y and G.

Sutter Health operates a nonprofit which pays its CEO well over $5,000,000 and nearly 30 other excutives over $1,000,000. In the mid 2000s defending themselves in a court litigation, they claimed not to own any hospitals. This year in more court procedings, they claim they do own, at least one hospital. In the last year when figures are available, they claimed a profit of nearly 3/4 of a BILLION dollars! <br> <br>They refuse to release financial information for at least one of their satellite hospitals. At a 49 bed hospital in northern California they hold closed board meetings, refuse to release meeting minutes, force dissenting board members to leave the room while they discuss a contentious subject. They maintain at least three of the nine board appointments who receive their salary and benefits from a Sutter Health owned organization. The three Sutter Health employees on the board have never have never declared a conflict of interests before a vote of the Board. This is probably illeagal though I do not profess to give legal advice. <br> <br>In the mid-2000s they pro0mised Lakeside Hospital that their downsizing the hospital from some 59 beds to 24 beds would not mean any service or jobs lost: some 600 jobs dropped to about 270 at Lakeside and two clinics in the area no longer exist. <br> <br>Presently, they have wrested local control and ownership from Sutter Coast Hospital in Crescent City and are planning to downsize from 49 to 24 beds, convert the entire hospital to a Critical Access Facility solely to profit from the government program which directs the operation of such facilities, thus forcing hundreds to thousands of ER patients to transport by air at their own expense, at least some 80 miles taking hours of critical time, and forcing family members to travel at least that far to be with their loved one, and forcing patients to pay their own transportation expenses to get home. <br> <br>They are secretive, devious, untruthful, and care very little about the population they serve; rather, they care only about having enough money to pay obscene salaries to their officers and administraters. <br> <br>Before you donate any gift to this organization, please require they allow you to see their financial reports for the last five years and check the salaries and benefits of their officers and administrators. <br> <br>(All of the above allegations are documented and backed by emails, letters, and other oral and written statements made by Sutter Health and/or Sutter Coast employees and by court and public meeting records as well as newspaper articles published in the service area of Sutter Coast. <br>

I would like to start by saying that the Mission Statement is in line with the Product, my company Hawfco Engineering has, The Water Master, a product that helps most homes save 50% or more of their water use. Well, I heard about this non-profit form my bank. I had to keep calling and calling to get an appointment and when I finally did I met with this very large lady who was very mean and nasty...she said she was sick, but she was just strange..they really did not help me much, they wanted me to take a class where I had to pay $65.00 and I was not too sure about this...I was told by the large, messy lady that that it was required for me to by a house...the whole place seemed very shady. I ended up going back to my bank and I found a better lender who was able to work with me...I do no think NeighborWorks is the best place for people, it can be hard to get an appointment and then they give you the wrong information. I would just stay with your bank and find your own lender.

People of Progress is my favorite direct support agency for the underserved and homeless in Shasta County. They provide food, and emergency stipends for rent to families in need, without discrimination. They also have one of the best thrift stores in Redding!

So many under privileged children are helped through the birthday magic program. We go out and put on birthday for children in homeless shelters. It such a touching idea and people who can't volunteer can sponsor a child in need as well! I hope we don't loose this great center that helps so many throughout the Sacramento area.
