Being in Kiwanis and Roswell Woman's Club, I became involved with volunteer charity work with CDA. <br>After several years, I am now an ambassador for CDA and cannot praise them enough for all the good they do for children in our community. I'm currently live I roswell ga been apart of the community for 5 years now I'm single parent from ohio. I'm a nurse/med-surg technician an recently became lay off my job at northside hospital cumming ga I was on job for 3 years..I'm facing eviction can some one please help my family

I love this organization and am so glad my son is apart of this network of professionals. The mentors are great to volunteer their time to spend with our sons in supporting them into adulthood.

Being connected to Habitat For Humanity-North Central Georgia has been an amazing experience. I am so fortunate to work alongside such a phenomenal group of people. The work that HFH-NCG does is a labor of love and I am grateful to have been introduced to the organization and even more excited to help carry out the meaningful work they do.

I was diagnosed with cancer at 25 and I hadn’t considered making the decision in 7 days if I wanted to risk my fertility. Team Maggie helped reduce my stress tremendously financially and opened the door to belong to a new community. With Team Maggie I was given the opportunity to freeze my eggs and have the chance to have biological children. I’m so thankful for Team Maggie to be apart of my cancer journey and for it to be a good experience when cancer is a negative for so many.

I am a member of the Rotary Club of St. Charles Parish Louisiana. Our club has sponsored a school served by Lunches for Learning for over ten years. There is no safety net in Honduras and the children who are the beneficiaries of the meals the program provides are victims of stunning poverty. The strategy is simple. Feed them at school and they will go to school. I have always been impressed by the tight ship the directors of the program run.<br><br>My wife and I have visited the school which our club sponsors on six different occasions. Our streak was only interrupted by the pandemic. <br>

My daughter began playing tennis with Special Pops when it first opened it's doors. I also began volunteering at that time. My experience as parent, partner, umpire, coach, site coordinator and SPUD captain has be extremely rewarding. The wonderful people running this program work tirelessly to make a life-changing environment for our athletes. My daughter's experiences have been unparalleled. The opportunities she has gotten to make friends and travel and participate with a variety of people have enriched her life. Congratulations, Special Pops, on being such a top-rate organization. And thank you so much for all your hard work!

I'm a single mom to a boy with special needs who needs around the clock care, having a set of extra hands helping me care for him is a must, thanks to Special Needs Respite Inc I'm able to get help with my son and all of his needs. This is a wonderful organization and I'm so grateful for the scholarship that we received, I know without their help this would have been impossible for me, having help around has made my son's quality of life ten times better. THANK YOU!!!!

My family and I have been volunteers with FCSF for over a decade. We have heard first-hand from families served while we volunteer of how much the services help the foster and relative children in their care. There have been several times we have seen caregivers moved to tears with gratitude after receiving basic care items for their displaced children. We have volunteered with multiple programs within the organization including the Grands Raising Grands Holiday Wish program and the Distribution program. The Holiday Wish is during the end of the year and has become a family tradition with our children to shop for children who otherwise would go without Christmas presents. The distribution facility is very fulfilling to visit and volunteer at, and daily tasks are varied and depend on what specific things the organization needs to accomplish in a given day. Some of these tasks we have helped with in the past have been sorting incoming donations, cleaning bicycles and outdoor toys, restocking shelves, helping caregivers find items for the children, and filling mail orders that ship to kids too far away to come in-person. They truly do care about the people they serve and it is undeniable that the funds raised goes directly to support for the displaced children. It is important to note that the organization serves children that are the least supported in Georgia (displaced kids who's caregivers are receiving nothing to base per-diem). The only caregivers that do not qualify are those that get a considerable amount of money for the displaced kids in their home. Of thousands of hours we have volunteered here, we have only seen a small handful of people who showed up unqualified demanding to be served anyway. Other than that entitled few, the remaining 99.9% of everyone we have interacted here and all of the staff we have come across has been amazing and we will continue to volunteer and support them for years into the future.

I don't know much about this program. It has good reviews. I like the title. I do this in honor of Cindy Herman, a young lady from my hometown that passed from this life on Mother's Day 2021 in car accident. She was only 54. In my small hometown, I basically watched her grow up. I remember her mostly as a kindhearted young girl that filled my life with love and joy many years ago. She touched so many peoples lives with her gentle kindness. I will always love her and always remember how full of life she was. I always felt protective of her when she was young and prayed for her when she was growing up. When I see young girls abused, I think of how it would be if it were little Cindy. So again, I do this in Cindy's honor.

I cannot speak highly enough about this organization. HERO is different from other volunteer programs in that you are not just a cog in the wheel that can be replaced by another. With HERO, the difference you make is at a deeper level with higher meaning. The mentor-mentee relationship is built around trust, and commitment to one another is essential. Over time, the mentorship can positively influence a child's behavior, attitude, confidence, grades, and family life. Volunteering at HERO, you are helping a child meet his or her full potential, which is truly life-changing. A surprise from mentoring has been the amount I've grown alongside my mentee; I did not expect the program to influence my behavior as much as it has. Thank You! <br> <br> <br> <br>

Mourning Dove Ministries was such an incredible blessing to our marriage. We received counseling during a very difficult time in our marriage and Mourning Dove Ministries not only provided wisdom and guidance, but we had hope for the first time in many years. After finishing counseling, our marriage was stronger and more "real" and not only that, but God began opening amazing doors in our lives and we've been truly blessed. Thank you Gary and Elvira!

Amazing organization that focuses on giving back to those less fortunate.

GivingPoint has truly changed my life! I am so thankful to have gotten involved with this phenomenal organization that is truly devoted to helping out the future of America. As a student myself, I was deeply touched by all the support that they continue to show to all children, young adults, and adults in our community. I have witnessed first hand the impact GivingPoint has had on over thousands of teens and organizations. There is no other organization like GivingPoint and I hope to continue to support them, for they have been supporting me and my passion for years now. Thank you, GivingPoint!

Second Wind Dreams has helped fulfill thousands of dreams for those living in elder care communities. This organization provides tremendous support and recognition to their members, volunteers, and donors. In addition to their Virtual Dementia Tour, created by P.K. Beville, and dreams program, their annual Gifts of Light 2014 provided Holiday gifts and visits to 1000+ nursing home elders. From my first hand experience, these elders were overwhelmed with surprise and joy. I continually heard, "Thank you so much!" and "How was I chosen?" These elders who normally receive no visits, felt truly blessed, loved, and remembered.

AccessH2O was a tremendous help for Yuma, AZ residents who were still recovering from the hardships brought on by the global pandemic, COVID-19. For those that qualified, AccessH2O was able to provide the assistance needed to keep their water on. Many were still unemployed and waiting for government assistance when disconnections resumed.<br>It has been a pleasure to partner with AccessH2O and I'm thankful I was able to offer their services to my community.

When we first signed up Great Pyrenees of Atlanta it was awesome! We told them we were looking to adopt an adult dog since we had a small child already and did not want a puppy. The process is to wait until dogs come in and then see if your a good fit. Our representative decided that she was going to pressure us into getting a puppy instead of an adult. Every time they got puppies in she would send us pictures and ask over and over if we wanted one. It was our fault that we said yes. We eventually caved to the pressure and cute puppy pictures. We convinced ourselves that we had the time to devote to it.<br><br>We paid the $600 "donation" for the puppy. We spent a total of almost 1K getting everything we needed including the fee for the dog. We were excited and we did enjoy the puppy's company. We just did not have enough time to devote to house training and activities a puppy needs so with a heavy heart we said we wanted to give him back. We did have some issues with him growling and biting at my 14 month old daughter and that was part of the reason we gave him back as well. One of the big things they harp on at this rescue is how its ok to give a dog back. In this case it was not. We gave him back on a Monday and he was adopted out that following Thursday. It was a quick turnaround and we saw pictures on Facebook of him with his new family and it is great.<br><br>Here is where things really start going south. Onee of the people in charge was going to take over our case. We got on the phone with her and all she did was talk down to us. She acted like we did not know how to raise or handle dogs and acted like we did not care. I was raised on a farm with animals and I have had dogs in my life for the last 36 years. I know how to raise a dog. She said she had the dog for a week and that he had no resource protection issues. She only had him for a couple of days and he may not have acted out with her but we are not liars either. He snapped at my daughter more than once and growled at me more than once. Lourdes then started talking about how it may take a long time for them to find the right dog for us. At the time of the conversation there were a lot of dogs available and more coming in every day. In other words we were going to be put on the back burner. We just got their newsletter the other day and they've rescued 118 dogs this year alone and don't have enough foster homes to currently take care of them, yet it would be "a very long time before they had any available for us to consider." Who knows if we would ever get a dog. We decided to ask for our money back even though it was a "donation". <br><br>The reason we asked for our money back is because we were pressured into getting a puppy when we did not want one. They kept saying stuff like if it is not a good fit let them know and they would gladly help us find one who is. They did not tell us the part where we were going to get black listed. We started checking with other rescues pyre rescues and they are much easier to work with. I would not reccomend working with these people. They are great as long as you have no problems and don't give your dog back, but if you do your will end up with an empty wallet and no dog.

I’ve been a volunteer with Skye Precious Kids for more than a year now, and I wanted to hop on here to say that working with them, and Ms. Jones in particular, has been a great experience! Right when you meet her, you can tell she truly puts families and the children first. As a volunteer, I’ve seen firsthand how much patience and commitment goes into everything we do. In my time here, I can confidently recommend the non-profit to parents, donors, and anyone looking to support a trustworthy, dedicated organization that truly cares about kids. Thank you!

I have been consistently impressed with the diversity and inclusiveness of RCM. It truly feels like a community center where people from all backgrounds come together, embracing the many aspects of our faith. One of the standout features of RCM is how women and sisters are actively involved in every part of the community, ensuring that their voices and contributions are valued. The sense of belonging is tangible, and it's amazing to see how excited the children are to come here. RCM does a fantastic job of making learning, faith, and community a joyful experience for everyone who walks through its doors.

Drake House is a wonderful "time-out" place for single mothers. Drake house offers these mothers and their children a safe place to live, mentors to advise them, a life skills team that offers parenting skills, financial planning, and career coaching. There is hope when they transition out of Drake House for a more financially secure future. Drake House makes our community a better place for everyone.

Personally I have had multiple horrible experiences with them and have heard from no less than five members and ex members alike that there are issues of discrimination (from coaches and skaters, I have personally experienced both) against lower level skaters or those that have started at a late age (15+). I would urge others to not waste their time or money unless they are a very young child, then you shouldn’t have any issues with support or fitting in.

I have watched this nonprofit develop and increase the number of individuals served to great numbers! They are an up and coming incredible organization!

Effective in delivery of balanced approach to criminal justice.

Most High Ministries, Inc is awesome! Their mission is to educate, inform and help end the stigma of addiction and mental health. They promote awareness through podcasts at The Most High Show, they educate through documentaries and they have their own app (Most High Media) so it is easy to find, listen and share to the ones who are struggling! They also train in production to people in recovery. They are always looking for volunteers to help with admin, camera, events etc.... Follow them on Facebook The Most High Show
