I am very grateful for their help, they always make me feel cared for, and go above and beyond to support me. Without their help, I’m afraid I wouldn’t have any hope in controlling my seizures.

I had a very enjoyable time helping out at A Gift for Teaching for half a day. Everyone was really nice, polite, and professional. The location is clean and well organized. Knowing that we were all helping the teachers who are helping the kids makes it that much easier.

I have been a pastor of an evangelical church for 14 years, I recently moved to Florida and wanted to help with my gift for preaching and serving the homeless and addicted. I was allowed to preach a church service Wednesday night and 7 souls received salvation.I was embraced and Loved.after a week I was ignored more days was contacted by one odd the directors I was asked to come in and speak to Mr.hall who very unchristian like treated me like some kind of enemy because of some of my biblical beliefs.I you donate to this group you need to find out what they believe, they don't believe in the rapture, they don't believe in dispensation and they are calvinist. The way they treated me was very mean and I was only asking to preach to which they told me that they were protecting the pulpit and Ritter men, like i was some kind of cult.please consider what your supporting and or what your part of.

VCI a non-profit organization that not only says they care, puts it in ACTION! Staff members sacrifice a lot and work hard to make a difference in the Orlando area. This is truly a great organization, Orlando is luck to have them here.

I have found it is possible to add to the pleasure of attending a Philharmonic concert! It's easy -- and rewarding! I've been a long-time patron, thoroughly enjoying the music, so about five years ago I persuaded a few friends to buy season tickets for the Pops. They were a little dubious beforehand, but as the season progressed, so did their enthusiasm. At the end of the series they were eagerly inquiring about tickets for the next season. The feeling was contagious, because each year since that time we have added to our number. There are now more than 30 season ticket holders in our group. We attend Pops Saturday matinees, and usually go to dinner afterwards so together we can rave about the performance. Watching my friends enjoy the Phil has increased my pleasure exponentially. I am now trying to convince them to go with me to the Classics, the operas, Focus, summer series, and Friends. There is so much to enjoy.

My brother in-law had a 12pm appointment and signed in at 11:50am. At 12:50 he asked the receptionist when he would be seen. He was told he was next in line. I arrived to pick him up at 1pm. At 1:40 he still had not been seen. By this time I was extremely irritated to say the least. I ask the receptionist when he might be called and she her self seemed shocked that he had a 12pm appointment and had not been seen. The receptionist then informed me we would have to wait until the staff returned from lunch. I asked to speak to the office manager and rather than her addressing the issue she went into a back room and closed the door. Both my brother in-law and I stood at the front counter completely ignored. I am a manager at a non profit medical clinc as well and my job would be terminated immediately if my customer service didn't reflect excellence at minimum. After being seen he returns to the lobby only to find the pharmacy was closed for lunch. This clinic is a customer service nightmare and the mission statement should include the truth, they'll see you on a walk-in basis and there is no such thing as a scheduled appointment.

This place is a complete fraud and money making scam. They claim to be non profit christian program helping men get on there feet and be closer to god. They are the farthest thing from it. They prey on the homeless and people who are fown and out and sell them a fake dream. They make you sign over a power of attorney so all of your money goes into their bank account. Theu dont give you statements to let you know how much money you have and what you have saved. They loose paychecks freaquently and they also make you sign up for food stamps and take all of your ebt benifits. They make you take a van to and from work or where ever you need to go and charge you 10 dollars a ride. Even if ypu work one block away they wont let you walk to work you must pay them. If you ahow any defiance or question the program they kick you out and take all your money and kick you to the streets with absolutly nothing. No money no food stamps and no help. If you try and leave the program early they will call your job and ask your employer to fire you . even of you got the job by yourself with no help from them they yry and destroy your life if you lwave the program. This is thebfaryhest thing from a christian program that they claim to be that i have ever heard of. What they do is borderline illegal and morally wrong. Stay away beforw they have all of your money and life in their hands and they use it over your head and threaten you if you try and leave. Spenser the man who runs it is a complete con artist and gets rich off of the helpless people he is abusing. STAY AWAY!!!!

I wanted to take a moment to say what a wonderful experience my husband and I have had with New Missions. We've been sponsoring a child in Haiti for the past seven years. We have actually been to Haiti and had the opportunity to meet our sponsored child and witness the goings on of New Missions in Haiti. For only $30 a month, the benefits are a blessing to both of us. Just knowing that over 10,000 children are being fed, receiving an education and free medical care for them and their entire family is worth every penny we donate to New Missions. And most importantly, they hear the great news of God love for them. I would encourage anyone inquiring about New Missions to know that your money is definitely going where it is meant to go: to the Haitian children and their families. God bless each and everyone who supports such a fine organization.

My experience working at Children and Families was extremely challenging. Although training and meetings emphasized open communication, support, and protection for staff, my experience did not reflect those messages. When I raised concerns related to harassment and discrimination, they were not addressed appropriately by management. Instead, I received disciplinary write-ups, which discouraged me from continuing to speak up. This created a stressful work environment where I often felt anxious and uncertain about how I would be treated. Confidentiality was not consistently maintained, and matters involving me were discussed with others rather than handled privately. I experienced repeated, unwelcome comments and actions that contributed to a hostile and uncomfortable work environment. I was also held to standards and expectations that differed from those applied to others in similar positions. This is an amazing organization providing meals and other much-needed assistance and services to Central Florida's seniors!

The Orlando Gay Chorus is a welcoming community where people from all walks of life can sing, dance, and/or lend their time in support. I joined two years ago and have become part of the leadership team because I care so much about our mission and the important work we do in the community. OGC feels like family and I truly feel that I belong. I love singing with the chorus and I hope more people can learn about this gem in the Orlando community.

Living in Orlando, I have the opportunity of supporting those hospitals in our Greater Orlando area, which include Arnold Palmer Medical Center and UF Health Shands Children&rsquo;s Hospital. <br><br>Why I Give<br>When I think about why this cause and these hospitals means so much to me, there&rsquo;s many things that come to mind. I&rsquo;ve been fortunate to meet many families with kids who have been treated at these hospitals and every story has proved to be so unique. There are two miracle stories however that has always stood out to me. The first is Sam. Sam is 14 years old and due to spina bifida, he has had 28 surgeries in his lifetime. The first time I met him, Sam&rsquo;s mom was sharing his story and she said one thing that I will never forget. She said, &ldquo;Of all my kids, Sam has the most to complain about, yet complains the least.&rdquo; As soon as you meet Sam, you can tell that this is true. However, I realized that this is something that is so true of all miracle families. Families dealing with childhood illness or injuries, you realize that although they have the most to be angry, sad, scared, or nervous about, they&rsquo;re families who show so much love and courage to let their stories be told. It&rsquo;s inspiring and leads me to my next miracle story &ndash; Holden. Before Holden was born, doctors already anticipated he would have heart problems. When he was born, it wasn&rsquo;t long until Holden were to have open-heart surgery due to the heart defect he was born with. Unfortunately, at just 2 years old, Holden lost his battle and passed away. During my time being involved with Children&rsquo;s Miracle Network Hospitals, Holden was the first (and only) story of a loss I had experienced. Holden&rsquo;s parents are a prime example of parents who may have so much to be angry, sad, scared, or nervous about, yet they were not. I was able to attend Holden&rsquo;s funeral service where Holden&rsquo;s parents welcomed the community with arms wide open to honor the baby we all knew and loved. &ldquo;A heart is not judged by how much it loves. It is judged by how much it is loved by others.&rdquo; Holden and his family taught me that. <br><br>I could go on for days with stories of families that have touched my heart. But something that I noticed is true and is my reason for giving is &ldquo;you never know until you need it.&rdquo; You never realize how important children&rsquo;s hospitals are until you need to bring your child there. You never know how important current equipment, technology, and research are until a child&rsquo;s life is depending on it. <br><br>These children being admitted to these hospitals sometimes have conditions they can&rsquo;t even pronounce, much less understand. Although I have no children myself, I can imagine the amount of strength not only these kids have but their parents and families have, as well. <br><br>I will forever give back to my local Children&rsquo;s Miracle Network Hospitals, I will forever be For The Kids, because it&rsquo;s true, you never know until you need it.

I write on behalf of Servant's Heart Center, a hunger relief charity located in Orlando FL, focused on child and senior hunger. <br> <br>SHC is a member of the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida. The charity distributes weekly groceries to over 400 households where children and seniors are at risk of hunger. Seventy five percent of food donations we distribute are accessed from the SHFB. As a result of our partnership in the fight against hunger, SHC is able to offer its recipients assorted and nutritious foods including frozen meats, dry goods and fresh vegetables. <br> <br>We are grateful for the stewardship practiced by the SHFB. I love to volunteer. Volunteering with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Orlando is right at the top of the organizations I just LOVE to be involved with at every opportunity. <br> <br>The work my hubby and I have been involved with at Habitat most recently have been with events which involve the generosity of different trade shows/conventions that come to Orlando and so graciously offer to leave BRAND NEW items they have presented at conventions for Habitat to use in building houses for those in need. <br> <br>I cannot possibly explain how much FUN it is to collect these items from generous vendors! It makes the vendor happy and it helps so many people almost all of us will never meet. <br> <br>You may ask yourself 'how is this 'fun?'' Let me explain. Habitat leaders put us together in teams, most of us whom have never met each other before, and send us off to collect items from the vendors that donate. The 'fun' begins when we try to compete with another team to get our items back to the Habitat collection area the fastest. Actually, as each team is assembled and assigned a task, teams are all quick to stop and help out another team that might be struggling, so we do not actually 'compete' against anything but time, as Habitat has a limited window of time to get things dissembled and placed on pallets. <br> <br>Habitat does so much for our local community in need! But what I don't know that there is a secondary need that is met at these events: building volunteer bonds across across all generations, genders and such, of like-minded volunteers with a passion to serve. At my first event, I may have shown up as a stranger, but at the end of the day, left with volunteer friends and hugs that will last a lifetime. <br> <br>We are already planning to meet up as volunteer friends for our next big Habitat event next month! <br> <br>Thank you Habitat for Humanity Greater Orlando for all you do everyday to serve our community. <br> <br>You are AWESOME!

This is a great organization, I am very impressed with the way it is run.

Orlando Ballet is the only not for profit professional ballet company in Central Florida. Under the artistic direction of Robert Hill, the company produces year round programming, arts education and community outreach. The Orlando Ballet School <br> is award winning and trains more than 1,000 students annually. I am proud to support this organization as it continues providing the highest level of artistic excellence and training.

Recently Michelee Puppets has stepped into my life -- what catches my attention is the power of imagination through the stimulus of a puppet to engage a child in an aspect of their development process. In many instances it brings attention to the negative through the word power of puppets, imaginary friends, not adults. It prompts my thinking as to how can puppets engage older children and adults with significant public and social issues. I look forward to learning more about their process, results and directions. For me innovation engaging the imagination is vital to puppet power.

I have not gotten a chance to volunteer with Heart of Florida United Way directly but I was just recently introduced to this wonderful organization last month when I was recognized at the Inaugural United Way Community Volunteer Excellence Awards which they graciously hosted. For the short time I've been exposed to the world of volunteering it was an amazing experience just to know that you can be recognized for the work you do. I was lucky enough to win one of the awards presented but even if I didn't the time that they took to recognize everyone nominated was amazing, I felt so thankful to be apart of a community that was so supportive and respectful of each other and I am so glad that I was able to experience that. I really hope they understand that being able to be recognized for doing something that you love was life changing for me because I was so doubtful of myself before and now I can see a future that I can be happy with, a future that can't be made without the amazing influences of programs like these. In the future I'm making it my mission to volunteer for this amazing organization which deserves to be recognized! :)

My son attended the preschool and than the kindergarten class at Orlando Day Nursery. The ladies that work there are really attentive to your child. There is a great level of communication in this organized facility. It was a wonderful experience to have such a close relationship with my son's preschool and than kindergarten teacher. How easy a transition it was from preschool to summer camp to kindergarten to summer camp again. I truly loved these years of my son's schooling.

The Epilepsy Foundation has taken a deliberate and thoughtful approach to funding answers that will make a difference. Their insight and knowledge of the field can only lead to the furtherance of amazing solutions to the good of all.

Linda Markowitz is the slowest, most disorganized attorney EVER. If you have not retained her, yet, but are considering it...STOP! You would do better to select ANY of the lawyers, from any directory, in the White Plains area. Linda went to law school as an after thought, and she treats her job as an after thought, charging more than highly skilled attorneys that actually WIN cases. I have spoken to other people who have had Linda. More than one person has told me that they paid her twice the money for half the work, before hiring someone else. Even worse, she will force you to spend hour upon hour organizing all the papers for your trial, and then she will LOSE them! When the opposing attorney sees that she is on the case, they breathe a sigh of relief...this is not good news if you are the one to hire her! When she supports your cause...everything she is saying is anecdotal, and personal...it does not mean you have a case or will win. This makes her dangerous. It borders manipulation
