Maumee Nonprofits and Charities

We own a wedding barn venue and some of our older guests were struggling to walk a long path to the ceremony area. I asked John if he had any equipment we could use, he didn’t hesitate. The wheel chairs and battery operated chair has been a “Blessing”. One grandpa wanted to walk in the ceremony procession with everyone for his grand daughter’s wedding but couldn’t on his own, he was so thankful when we showed him the battery operated wheelchair that he could drive himself with no assistance.

The price for adopting a pet here is VERY high. I would think they should be more interested in getting animals homes than making money.

My experience in being treated with an esoteric healing session is pretty extraordinary. It has brought about a change in thinking in my life, thus wellness has returned to my physical body. I am so excited to know about this modality of healing. More people should be award of the many benefits of this work.

I went on my first walk in Germany with DVV (Deutscher Volkssport Verband- German Volkssport Assn.); Germany's version of this international walking organization in 1983 when I was stationed in Frankfurt, Germany with the US Air Force. The chance to meet many like-minded people, see the beauties of nature, and get some exercise is a triple win. Since then, I've done these organized walks in 16 countries. So many memories my wife and I have shared. In fact, I met my wife in 1995 at the AVA biennial convention in Portland, OR. We've planned vacations and leisure travel to find events sponsored by member clubs in the USA, Canada, and all over Europe. There are events in Asia, Australia, and South America, which we look forward to discovering soon. Hope to see many folks out on the "trail".

Calvary Church each year has hundreds of people spending dollars and time trying make Maumee Ohio a cleaner better place. They also do many good works in other areas of the 419 area.

Maumee Valley Habitat has a heart for helping people through building lives, hope and homes. I've volunteered for seven seasons helping others fulfill their dreams while fulfilling my calling of serving others. The smiles of delight on the faces of the partner families show and tell it all. It makes serving all the more rewarding. <br> <br>I encourage everyone to get involved. Count your blessings and pay it forward today. There truly is, "No Place Like Home".

I am a client served who became a volunteer. Pam Hays, the founder of this non profit has the biggest heart of anyone I have ever met. She truly wants to make an impact in the community there is no doubt about that. I am the wife of a veteran with ptsd and it has been a very rough road. When a soldier comes back from war they are not taught how to handle the emotional scars, nightmares, or how to transition back to civilian life after being literally shot at for a year or more. My husband was very angry all the time and it made our home life very unpleasant. It was like I was walking on eggshells trying not to say the wrong thing that would set him off. We have considered divorce on more than one occasion but I never wanted that. I was trying to figure out how to help my husband, for better or in this case for worse, while he was taking out his problems on me and blaming me for things I had no control over. He did not trust any of the counselors we had previously tried out, but he trusted Pam. He could tell she truly cared about him and wanted to help him get out of his dark place and have a better life. In our group sessions, my husband as well as the other veterans referred to her as a second mother. I am so glad we found The Arms Forces as it played a huge role in getting my husband on the right track mentally. We are in a much better place than we were a couple years ago and I know if I ever need anything Pam is just a phone call away. I cannot wait to see what else she has up her sleeves to continue reducing the stigma and helping make the community aware of what life is really like with ptsd and/or tbi.
