I love it- not one story on this page is from an actual person who is homeless. All volunteers or board members. Here’s a sign. You all think you’re wonderful. I’m homeless. I can GET ANY HELP!! I’ve called. I have went to into these places, I was handed a piece of paper by Monroe with a list of apartments and shelters. Wayne metro gave me Detroits Number it was a 1800 number. I’m glad all these resources exist YOU CANT GET TOO. I can’t get on a waiting list because they are all closed!!

Very disappointed in the lack of integrity and professionalism amongst the senior staff at DLI. Verbal commitments, and some written, are not fulfilled. The organization has deteriorated over the past 20 years and recent attempts to revitalize Downtown have missed the mark. Throwing money at a problem without understanding the root cause is wasteful….businesses are still moving out because of the lack of foward movement.

I was in a postion where I had to do community service for an assistance program. At first I was not exactly excited about having todo it when I felt like I already had enough on my plate. After the first day at Hannah's House I couldn't wait to go back. I enjoyed spending time with the irls and getting to know their stories. I felt like I was having a positive impact on their lives by being able to share my experiences with them as well. When I needed help with diapers for my children I was able to access their services and get get help too. It is an amazing place, doing amazing things!

I have rescued 2 dogs from APB now. They even rescued a kitten from my neighbors yard once. I try to donate items when they come into my possession and I pass them on. This group are mighty warriors when it comes to taking care of dogs that find their way to them. I always recommend them to anyone I know looking for a dog to adopt. I rescue where I can . Below are my adopted Fur Babies Heny and Zoe.

I have worked with Woldumar Nature Center on several water quality monitoring events for approximately three years; however, Woldumar has been coordinating the Global Rivers Environmental Education Network (GREEN) program locally since 1995. They have done a phenomenal job, involving several local students over the years. The students love the program because they are able to get a hands on approach to understanding water quality.

As the Red Rider Ambassador for the American Diabetes Association 'Tour de Cure', I've purchased my last three bicycles from KRP to ride and train. They are a wonderful program for the children and I highly endorse this program. A great group of people!

You always get the finest, down home, welcoming committee who are just itching to meet new clients and if you have a drug problem, no worries they'll point you in the right direction . Theu are all ears and very patient and have been where you arez so have a seat and all the free coffee you want and they have great advocates, like Darvis, who is stead fast and brave, full of integrity! So, find ypur way in, with a smile, you'll never regret it!

They really help a lot of people in the local community. A very worthy cause.

After a long period with a too-expensive policy I looked forward to downgrading to something more affordable yet I had many questions. I called our local Senior Services and they told me about MMAP. Michael called back later that day and spent the better part of an afternoon educating me about my options. He was very kind, patient, and informative. I left with a clear understanding of the lay of the insurance landscape and confident of my next step. Michael even gave me an important tip for ten years in the future! The value of this help to my quality of life is very great, inestimable.

Shared Pregnancy Women's Center has provided crucial services to women and families who are in crisis. I have had the privilege of serving alongside of some amazing people in this organization and have seen the compassion and love with which they work. They provide hope and encouragement to those in need.

The Arc Michigan is an amazing organization that has been an enormous part of improving civil rights for people with disabilities.

Zonta Club of Lansing organized in 1922 in Lansing, MI. 94 years in the Greater Lansing area helping advance the status of women and girls through service and advocacy. A group of people who with service projects and fundraising events work to empower women worldwide by improving the legal, political, economic, educational, health and professional status of women at the global and local levels. With generosity and collective projects in 57 countries Zonta Club of Lansing and Zonta International provide scholarships and awards to women around the globe thereby transforming the world and women's place in it. The Lansing Club and her sister clubs work to end domestic violence, stop human trafficking, create understanding, goodwill and peace in the world. Together they are united internationally, fostering high ethical standards, universal respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms. Every member of Zonta is a leader and serves Zonta proudly.

This place saved my life and family...ive never felt alone since i made the decision to stop drinking and live a sober life. The program of AA is a blessed way of life and the people at this club make you feel welcome and truly teach you that they will love you until you learn to love yourself. My experience within the club is mostly positive..clean facilities, courteous staff in coffee shop, great fellowship and events ,many meetings daily, including alanon.

As the Community Manager on staff at this organization I've seen countless men and women give to help make Mount Hope Church in Lansing become a meaningful center of progress which inspires Godly initiatives that an entire city can rally around—no matter the denomination, organization, or background. From the families who have been restored and strengthened through it's weekly services and Gilead Healing Center to it's community outreaches like Bless The City where tons of food was given in one evening to the homeless. Mount Hope is a worthy place to invest your time and resources. Their A Little Boy's Prayer "strategy" is the beginning of something very significant in support of foster and orphaned children. I'm looking forward to the day when Mount Hope can say that their involvement in this issue caused Lansing to no longer be a city with fatherless children.

The City Rescue Mission of Lansing-MI is the best and well run shelter anywhere... They cater to the Men, Women and Children from all over the Lansing area... They do this for free... All of the Lansing Homeless that stay at the City Rescue Mission of Lansing are kept safe, they eat well, they are clothed with fresh clean clothes, they shower and sleep very comfortably.. They have a tremendous, dedicated and loyal staff.. You(homeless) come first... They work tirelessly to improve your life... There is never a charge for the lodging, food, shower or clothes... This is all accomplished by the generosity of wonderful people like you who donate to the Mission... The City Rescue Mission does not get any Government funding.. Never!! They do by continued contributions and donations by wonderful and caring people from all over Lansing. They are led by Executive Director Mark Criss... He is a tremendous leader, a true Christian and a man who has dedicated his life, along with others, to helping the homeless... The City Rescue Mission also feeds the Gospel Nourishment to all who will listen.. Spiritual and Physical needs go hand and hand.. When it comes to shelters for the homeless, there are some good shelters.. However, the shelter of shelters is the City Rescue Mission of Lansing.. They are the real thing... They talk the talk and they walk the walk... Please don't ever become homeless... But if you do, The City Rescue Mission of Lansing is there for you... All of you!!!

I founded this in 2006. There is a growing trend in high schools these days. They are either incorporating athletic participation fees or increasing their fees. <br> <br>While we are happy they aren't cancelling the athletic programs all together, we regret the financial burden that this causes on families with student-athletes. <br> <br>It is our goal to help relieve the financial burden for these families. <br> <br>Each year, we are doing good and getting better.
