I volunteer as a prayer minister and I'm a board member. Ann and Dan Geroy are an encouragement to mein many ways. I love their humility before the Lord and their compassion for woulded souls.and broken lives. The Lord Jesus truly reigns in this ministry.

New Hope has helped get my family through the hardest 3 years of our lives. I can't express what a difference they have made to the mental health of myself and my children.

I began my association with CPI in 2013. <br>While my help has been limited, the outpouring of love that these men & women of God have been able to bless orphans in Mexico has caused me to desire to promote & give this organization a definite "2 THUMBS UP." <br>They are tireless in their desire to pour the Love of God through their continued efforts of visiting & witnessing to the people in Mexico. <br>And this year the need has more than doubled to obtain gifts for more than 200 children. <br>So, my prayer is for anyone looking to pour JESUS love into the heart of a child, give to this organization. After open heart surgery I lost my job, my home, my insurance, everything I owned. I didn't know where to turn. <br>Raphael Community Free Clinic has treated me with such kindness. They not only gave me care and prescriptions, they also offered a therapist to help with my depression. The care this clinic gives you is extremely professional and more caring than any doctor I have seen. <br>I'm down on my life and have hit rock bottom. Raphael Community Clinic has helped me in so many ways, I will forever be grateful for all they have done for me. I highly recommend them. <br>God bless every person who works and/or volunteers there. The entire team is amazing!

As a new family to the area, I liked the idea of being able to fund vetted nonprofits. There are so many groups in need. This is a great way to help projects that matter to the community and that you know are making a difference, not just taking your money. Once I joined the board, I learned even more and am in love with the way Kerr County United Way is organized and the way the money is valued not just spent.

Mary Lee Gowland, the star of our hearts—age 73— quietly passed into another realm on April 5, 2023, attended by her husband Joe at their home in Kerrville, Texas. <br>Mary Lee maintained a good sense of humor throughout her life moving to Kerrville, Texas, in 2010 from Coarsegold, California. <br>Within her first year, she established Hill Country Poets, taught creative writing at Club Ed and in children’s programs, and met her beloved husband, Joe Conklin. Up until recently Mary Lee served as treasurer of Friends of the Butt-Holdsworth Memorial library, assisted Art2Heart after school programs, participated in the Butt-Holdsworth Memorial Library teen workshop, worked with the Kerr Legacy Christian Academy, Tom Daniels Elementary and Ray and Joan Kroc Center, and also taught adult poetry workshops. She had recently completed the second volume of her memoirs along with a book of poems inspired by writing prompts.<br>

This llama & alpaca rescue has been helping animals since 2001. This all volunteer group has taken in llamas or alpacas or other animals that were in need and found homes or continue to foster those who need long term care. The volunteers have helped to train and care for over 1200 llamas or alpacas. Southwest Llama Rescue, Inc. coordinates with other rescue groups nationwide. One rescue in 2011 involved over 600 llamas, burros, horses when a large animal sanctuary closed down in Montana in the cold winter months. The volunteers do what it takes to get the job done. Support them and you will be supporting nationwide efforts and long term sanctuary of llamas and alpacas.

It is wonderful that we have such a caring medical clinic in our town. I have no insurance and they were able to provide tests and pills when I need.

Volunteer programs have been an important part of Kerrville State Hospital for almost as long as the hospital has been in existence. <br>The Museum of Western Art opened on April 23, 1983, and was first known as the Cowboy Artists of America Museum. In the years since, thousands of visitors have walked the Museum galleries and have seen the West brought to life through the artwork on display. The hardworking cowboys, the Native Americans, women of the West, settlers, mountain men and others are featured through various themed exhibits. Through other displays, the history of famous ranches as well as other diverse aspects of our Western heritage, are shared with an ever-widening audience. My family has a long-term relationship with Cross Trails Ministry through its programming at Lutheran Camp Chrysalis and Ebert Ranch Camp. I have personally been attending events at Camp Chrysalis since 1974, both as a youth, adult and now as a parent. I have seen various groups in leadership and changes in programming. One thing I continually appreciate is the loving hospitality that is expressed throughout any encounter. <br> <br>My family has been impacted by our camping experiences individually and as a family. Each of our three children has attended camp for several years. Our faith in God has been nurtured and strengthened as we worshiped and studied in serenely beautiful outdoor spaces and indoor facilities. Our family has attended family camp off and on for over 15 years and we have yet to be disappointed. We are always fed wonderful food, provided excellent activities and cared for lovingly. <br> <br>The strength of Cross Trails is definitely in its staff. They are always attentive and work well with a variety of age groups. They take great care in training their summer staff, especially, to deal with all age groups. The staff is more than ready and able to share their own faith journeys as they work and play with kids in Bible study, crafts, archery, worship, sing-alongs, swimming, canoeing, hiking, high ropes, and other “camp” activities. We have special memories of family camp where my dad had attended camp as a teenager and was eager to return with the entire family. What fun to see my mom (grandmother of 7) ride the zip line and giant swing screaming with joy at the top of her lungs. My husband, kids and I also have special memories of our first year at family camp that we attended with our best friends. The two families completed the “ultimate hike” across the challenging bluff in record time. The surprising part of the story is our group included a 2-year old boy and 3-year old girl who did most of the hike on their own. <br> <br>I remember coming home from camp as a young teen and asking for a guitar so I could learn to play camp songs. That was probably the start of a ministry that has now led to me becoming a parish lay minister. My love of “camp songs” was encouraged as my children returned home from camp and taught new ones to me so we could teach them to our congregation. Now, after attending camp for more than 15 years (beginning at age 5), our son, Benjamin, has learned guitar and is sharing camp songs as he returns home each year. <br> <br>Cross Trails holds a special place in our hearts and we hope and pray that its ministry continues so that more generations can receive the special joy of attending its programs. <br>

GIVE ANOTHER HUMAN BEING A CHANCE AT A BETTER LIFE, WE HAVE TO START WITH THE CHILDREN, OR THE FUTURE IS GOING TO BE WORSE THAN THE IMMEDIATE FUTURE LOOKS.
