I asked my husband to find a place where my daughter could learn ballet. He made some calls and talked to the owner of Laurel Ballet. He was very impressed at everything she told him our daughter would learn about dance and live at Laruel. It has been 7 yrs and her two sisters dance now also. The girls all dance beautiful, but more important , they are exposed to teachers that care so much for them and teach strong morals and self esteem. They have made wonderful friends and feel part of a family at Laurel.

Stage Right as an organization has become a juggernaut of a performing arts school. Chris and the team have done incredible work over the past two plus years to make this organization better than ever. Stage Right is a place where kids can go to get their feet wet in the world of theater performance and dive deep into their special interests. This company is a safe haven for kids to explore theater, experiment with production elements and learn valuable life skills whether or not they end up in entertainment. I am proud to be a professional member of the company who has gotten to work with this staff and the kids alike. For anyone looking for a warm welcoming, eclectic and humble performing arts company for their kids or themselves to become a part of, Stage Right Greensburg is a 12/10. Can't wait to see what the future brings!

I was looking for a companion to rescue and bring into a loving home. I thought Wayward would be the perfect place to do this because I have heard such good things. So I went and visited the cats at the cafe and fell instantly in love. I put in an application immediately for this cat. As I have rescued many animals in the past, I knew the process would be a lot information wise, but not time wise. It took almost 2 weeks for them to respond to my application and by then, I was told the cat I wanted was already adopted a day ago. Now if they said the cat was already adopted a week ago, I would normally understand that, but my application was put in 2 weeks ago.<br><br>After that, they were very willing to help me rescue another cat which I had no issues with doing. I found a cat I liked and they contacted the foster parents to give me a call so I could set up a meet and greet. The next day she called but I wasn't able to answer the first call. So I called back 3-4 times everyday to see if she would pick up, and there was nothing from her. After a week, I texted the foster mom to see if she was able to better communicate that way. In the end it worked better to text her, but she responded by telling me that because of poor communication the cat was already adopted by another family.<br><br>Now I don't mean any hate, but I found it a lot easier to rescue a cat outside of Wayward because I was able to adopt 2 in less that half the time it took them to respond to my application at Wayward. I think their communication could be a whole lot better with people trying to adopt pets. But I think the foster parents who hold some of the cats also need to be better at communicating as well. It doesn't take long to send and text or an email explaining the situation. But if there's an even bigger change that they should approve upon is to not give cats away when someones application has already been accepted but communication on the foster parents end is poor.<br><br>So I will say it again, go somewhere else if you want to adopt a cat because you will be devastated by Wayward.

As a previous member and supporter of the YWCA - I am concerned over the rhetoric of "aspiring to be a leader in Women's rights by way of increasing pay within the institution" vs. what they are chartered to do? As specifically stated in its own goals and write-ups. Although we (community) realize most nonprofits benefit and wages are below that of the for-profit industry, perhaps aspiring to its critical mission and serving some of our communities less fortunate and vulnerable should be of up most importance. The disparity of women's rights should be at the forefront and its employees.

hi my camper cought on fire on 2/21 /2023 and my boyfriend is in the hosp with 3 degree burns and we lost everything so i was woulding if u could help us out we are homeless at the mont we are stay with a friend for now

Tri-City Meals on Wheels has been serving those in need for over 50 years. They serve the communities of Greensburg, S. Greensburg, Southwest Greensburg, West Point Area, Ft. Allen Area, Jeannette & Harrison City. They have one (1) paid employee, the kitchen coordinator, and approx. 125-150 volunteers. These volunteers cook, package and deliver meals Monday thru Friday. They serve approx. 180 meals nutritious hot meal each day. Meals are prepared daily. For the cost of $3.50 per day each client receives a meal consisting of a protein, starch and vegetable. Each client also receives a cold pack which includes either pudding, jello , yogurt or fruit, bread, a dessert and ½ pint of milk. When the meals are delivered the clients open their door to a smiling volunteer face who hands them their meal. Tri-City is completely non-profit and depends on the income from the meals served and donations. They have many satisfied customers and devoted volunteers who love what they do.

I am proud to say that I have been a volunteer for the Westmoreland Cultural Trust for 10 years. I believe that WCT strives to uphold their mission statement for enhancing the cultural and economic development of Westmoreland County through a variety of venues. The Palace Theatre shows, events at Greensburg Garden and Civic Center, fundraisers throughtout the year like TGIS (Thank Goodness its Summer - Palace courtyard), Bocci and Fashion Show (GGCC) and their signature fundraiser, Hollywood Party at the Palace (this years 10th on Feb 28, 2015). WCT has a caring board of trustees, and a tremendous staff that makes volunteering a joy! "Volunteers do not necessarily have the time; they just have the heart!" <br>Peg Colosimo
