Duncan Nonprofits and Charities

I have had the honor of working with the Hospital Health Foundation for several years now as a volunteer board member. I have watched the different areas of our Hospital grow with the constant work and efforts of our Health Foundation Executive Director, Cyndi Crook always supported by our Duncan Regional Hospital CEO, Jay Johnson. Cyndi is constantly looking for ways our Hospital Health Foundation can do more, not only for patients at the hospital, whether the person is staying in the hospital or an outpatient, but she also diligently searches for ways to be of service to others in our community so that their health will be a top priority to them as well as to our hospital. After learning of a women's event, she brought the idea of this event to our hospital campus, sponsored by the Health Foundation, for one afternoon and was responsible for getting many of our areas of the hospital represented at this event. As a result of her hard work, a woman who came to the free event discovered she had breast cancer and within two weeks had a mastectomy which, we all know, probably saved her life. Without this one day event, the patient has said she would not have gone to the doctor because she was not aware of any symptoms at that time. This is only one of many areas in which Cyndi has been the front runner in bringing ideas that better our hospital. Cyndi works tirelessly every day for ways to improve our Foundation and new opportunities to be of more service to our community and the individuals that live in and around our area. It has been an honor to work along side her and to know I am a part of an organization that is always there for others.

I adopted my lovebug dog Dollie from Stephens County Humane Society. It is run and staffed by insanely caring, competent and committed people. They treated Dollie like family and it was clear how much she was loved. They made sure she got excellent care and even leashed trained her and got her used to riding in a car so I could do a long drive home with her. They made sure I took her favorite toy home with us. They also arranged for a wonderful grooming at my request (I paid of course) before I picked her up so she was super clean and fluffy. They went above and beyond and it's clear they love what they do. I am so grateful to them!

This group really cultivates an atmosphere of inclusion. I also like that they are charity driven with their Golf Gives Back initiatives focused on women's issues.

Me and my family visited the Heritage center in June 2011. We loved it! Both my daughters 15 and 12 yeras old and my 7 year old son thought it was fun and they got to see little bit of how their Great great great grandfather lived his life as a cowboy on the Trail. Everyone was very helpful and all the questions we had were answered. 5 stars to everyone who works there!
