Wow!! This Foundation have been Making a Difference All Over the Country for over 22 years...even in Africa. Its a shame that (2) disgruntle people out of tens of thousands take the time to try and destroy the character of a good man on a mission for his mom and humanity itself. Sooo Sadd. They are referencing the the beginning almost 20 years ago...and have Grown Tremendously from here. Facts are, The only reason anything even was said negative from the State is he did not report that he did not Fundraise or Raised any money. He did not know he needed to report earnings despite being zero. I was working with him back then. He had a chance to pay a fine and continue he decided to just continue creating wealth to donate and give to youth and communities vs this non profit. Since then, sooooo many great things have happened since then, through this foundation. Make sure you don't let some haters from almost a decade ago stop you from meeting this great man on a mission for his mom and humanity itself. 5 Stars for 22 Years. Thank you for all you do. I came in contact with SHSC in January of 2023 when I lost my son and his organs were gifted to others. They have not only became a trusted resource to me in this journey I never wanted to be a part of but found myself in but they have become family along with the others they have connected me with on similar (never the same) journeys. I have gained knowledge and support through this amazing organization.

I adopted Hattie in December of 2020. I called ahead to ask a few questions about some of the cats that had caught my interest online. It was very obvious from that conversation that the staff knew each of the animals very well and took great care of them. <br><br>Once things calmed down after the pandemic, I decided to try volunteering and started in July of 2023. I am still volunteering today and I love it. <br><br>The staff work so incredibly hard for the animals not only in the care of the shelter, but throughout the community. All of the fundraisers, tv appearances, and social media show their level of compassion and dedication to helping these animals find their forever homes.

Pleased to follow Asia Wild’s launch here in the United States. Impressed that the mission not only follows and supports Asian animals abroad, but their care and support domestically. Cheers for your great work.

The work that Wings for Kids does for children is phenomenal and so critical. Teaching kids life lessons and mentoring to them at such as impressionable ages is absolutely necessary. The staff at Wings for Kids deserves all the credit in the world; especially during this pandemic. Thank you for all that you do for our communities!

In 2006 a small group met to begin this organization, Jackie Baer, Marge & Tom Veneziano and Mel Whack. We chose the name Fields to Families because that is what we wanted to do, bring fresh produce to those who did not have the means to purchase and enjoy the fruits of the garden. The organization grew, as did the board of directors, to what is still viable today. The Low Country is blessed to have this organization, and this year marks 15 years of receiving and giving of fresh vegetables and fruit to residents of Charleston, Berkley, and Dorchester counties. <br>Marge Veneziano

As an Avery Institute Board Member our single focus is the Avery Research Center at the College of Charleston so we support them in their mission to acknowledge and preserve the history and culture of the African American in the low country. Horrible. Extremely deceitful staff. Church/board assisted with instating convicted felon (cyndee cave) as director/head of the entire child care/youth programs. Total disregard for parents and negatively utilize religion to justify actions.

The support Florence Crittendon does for these young ladies is simply amazing. Lifeskills and continuing education and paramount for a successful and functioning life. The compassion and understanding they provide include housing, medical care, educational services, career and life skills training. I am thankful for what they do and happy to support them.

Celebrating 50 years of service to Seniors in the Lowcountry! <br> <br>Charleston Area Senior Citizen's Services, Inc. was founded November 29, 1967 and led by founding chairman Nicholas J. Sottile, to help frail impoverished seniors in the Lowcountry. <br>Overseeing the Charleston Area Meals on Wheels program, during our 2016-2017 fiscal year 161,500 meals were delivered to frail seniors in their homes by delivery technicians that check visually on each seniors well-being; 310 clients were provided a thirty day Emergency Food Box; 378 at-risk seniors were provided help in finding emergency shelter, food and medications; 8925 hot lunches were served at our Senior Center located at 259 Meeting Street; 60 Foster Grandparents volunteered over 46,000 hours at 38 sites benefitting over 400 at-risk children ten years of age or younger; and, 61 Senior Companions volunteered more than 48,000 hours to assist 150 frail elderly residents and help allow them to continue to live independently. <br> <br>Charleston Area Meals on Wheels serves frail seniors in Charleston and parts of Berkeley and Dorchester counties. <br> <br>Volunteer opportunities abound in the following areas: <br>Meals on Wheels: packaging and assisting on delivery routes <br>Senior Center Activities and stocking Food Pantries <br>Foster Grandparents--senior stipends available <br>Senior Companions--senior stipends available <br>Ansonborough House--assist with phones and food mart <br> <br>Thank you for donating. I went to the Dee Norton Lowcountry Children's center during a difficult time in my life. I was sexually abused for many years. One of their incredible counselors helped me work through the abuse. I am now in a much better place. Their staff is so kind and understanding. Definitely one of the best counseling centers I've ever been to.

This is a marvelous organization that is dedicated to educating the public about birds and specifically birds of prey such as eagles, hawks, falcons, vultures, etc. In addition, they have a superb medical facility for rehabilitating birds that have been injured. They have just released their 7000 rehabilitated bird which happened to be a Bald Eagle. Our family have an annual membership and we also donate our time as transporters for injured birds. I urge anyone to visit and donate to this wonderful cause. You will NOT be disappointed. Therefore, we are donors, volunteers, photographers, and members of the general public. I volunteered with the construction team. It was the most rewarding experience ive ever had. They are the best.

I have given to Remember for several years. One of the things I appreciate most is that one of the Board members of Remember personally verify every need before they contribute any funds. This ensures that your donation goes to a legitimate need. <br> <br>I was also able to volunteer on a Remember medical missions trip. This was an unforgettable experience in which I got so see the needs of persecuted Christians around the world--in this case, specifically in Burma and Kachin refugees in China. I highly recommend a Remember missions trip!

I know this organization helps many in need, but my personal experience trying to attain assistance for my 89 year old grandmother left me disappointed. I went in to ask about the commodity supplemental food program and was told by the receptionist the program was closed. I asked for an application and she said she would give me one but they were not accepting new members. No one else was visible on 10/17/2013 when I entered the building, just a large empty room with the desk clerk. She didn't offer any help with other programs or ask if she could assist me in any way. It seemed to me that I was wasting my time even though my grandmother fell well within the eligibility guidelines and struggles with her limited income to make ends meet. I hope that my experience was an aberration and not the kind of help someone in need would get when they contact the organization in person

Palmetto Medical Initiative is an amazing organization. I volunteered in May of 2012 to Uganda and will be on the December 2012 trip to Nicaragua. This is by far one of the best medical non-profits in the world. They are a talented group of individuals teamed with expert leadership and the skills necessary to change the world. Their sustainable model is a very successful and unique one that you do not see in other organizations. If you want you life to be changed, volunteer with PMI. I dare you.

I am a neighbor of the new illegal halfway house Rev. Jenkins is building o Dorchester Rd. This area is not zoned for shelters, apartments or rooming houses but this so called man of God insists in building one disregarding the law to join the other illegal facility on Commander. Yes he is asking for your money and donations but what real man of God does not follow the law???

About a year ago, my wife and I decided to take the plunge and attempt to "foster" a basset for Carolina Basset Hound Rescue (CBHR). I guess fostering to was the same as tryout for a new baby in the family. We failed miserably at fostering. That baby was adopted in less than 12 hours. Since that time, we have been active in several activities for and with CBHR. This rescue group is phenomenal! CBHR is the most dedicated group we have seen. They a highly organized, well-oiled machine with dedicated volunteers throughout both Carolinas. If you are interested in "dog rescue", you cannot find a finer, more active group than CBHR.

I donated to several of the convenient donation areas in the Charleston area this year, and I must say, they really have the process down to a science. It is a good feeling to know that my donations are helping put people to work in the down economic times that we are having. After I donated on several occasions, I drove around and parked, went into the retail store and during the time I was in the store, the items I just donated hit the sales floor! That was efficient! I was so impressed that I actually considered buying back the items I just dropped off!

The CLS hosted the Charleston Academy of Music's Kidzymphony recital last fall. It was wonderful to partner up with them and they allowed us to invite the public to the concert.
