The young lady told me that she was glad she finally asked for help and that her tutor does not make her feel dumb. She has been to two meetings with her tutor, but she feels good about herself and hopes she will be able to help her child do better in school than she did. If she couldn't go to tutoring in private I don't think she would have attempted to get help with her reading.

My purpose for giving is to do my best to make a difference in the lives of the youth in our community's youth center. Since joining the E. B. Williams Youth Center in 2012 as a major volunteer, donor and sponsor I have learned that the definition disadvantaged youth is varied, starting with the fact of who is to say what child is disadvantaged, just because a child is labeled as disadvantaged does not necessarily mean that they come from a broken or abusive home, I've noticed and realized that disadvantaged children can range from a child that is living in a single parent home, a child with parents with drug abuse issues, a child that has trouble comprehending in school, a child being bullying, a child that is socially held back etc. Being able to watch the youth that have come through or joined the youth center overcome their disadvantages have been the envision that the youth center is built on. Even parents talk about the difference the youth center has made with their children. Every child should have a chance to succeed in the world regardless their backgrounds or disadvantages. I do my best to help the E.B. Williams Youth Center in giving these youths more than some of them have ever seen or envisioned they would ever see, from field trips to numerous museums to attending college basketball games, Disney shows on ice and just a fun time. I give because I was brought up in a single parent household and understand the challenges from the parent and the child's perspective, I give because being a Disabled Army Veteran I feel the need to promote peace in the lives of today's youth, I give because today's youth are in desperate need of POSITIVE guidance, I give because money is not everything to these kids'TIME IS, I give because most kids just want affection, to be acknowledged, appreciated and affirmed, I give because more importantly, it's the right thing to do. <br /><br />PLEASE LIKE and SHAre this post to help the E.
