The American Chamber Orchestra continues to bring top quality music to Fairfield County. One arts council recently rated the ACO as one of the top five orchestras in the county.

My last visit with my Dad was not the best. I asked my dad what he had for lunch and he told me he was not given anything because he did not fill out his menu. The menu was on the other side of the room and he had no no access to it. He told me he would like a nice bowl of Lobster Bisque Soup. I went to Big Y (just down the road) Big Y had Lobster Bisque. ..... My Dad was eating his soup, when staff member entered the room. Upon discovering the soup was Lobster bisque, the staff member told him she'll fish was not allowed because one of the staff members had a shell fish allergy. We told her to just keep that particular staff member out of the room until he was through eating. The staff member tried to take the soup away, but we would not let her do that. She told us she would need to change personnel around. This should have been the end of it, but is was not. Another staff member came in and she expressed anger and berated us in from of my Dad. This conversation should have taken place in the hallway, away from my Dad. .... This staff member was BRUTAL! ...the very next day, Monday, I returned, but was not allowed to see my Dad. Instead staff member directed me into another room and began to interrogate me. They told me that I had placed the entire second floor in danger. They were so melodramatic. They wanted access to my bag because previously, I brought in shellfish, unbelievable! ...I refused to be searched or interrogate d, I went home and decided to giver the matter time to diffuse. ..... My Dad passed away before my next visit.... I returned to retrieve my father's belongings and staff on the second floor gave me the cold shoulder treatment. I did not want to be there myself, but all I wanted was my father's address book so I could make my phone calls. No one would even speak with me at all. I contact ed the administrator, she told me my Dads belongings were bagged up and taken to the Funeral Home with my Dad. I wish staff members had a bit more civility and had simply told me this.

This summer will be my third year as a camper at camp rising sun. My experience here was life changing. I went in with no confidence and I felt like I was different because I had cancer, and I came out feeling accepted and I made some of my best friends there.

I'm so impressed by The Small Things' work. I've volunteered and worked for many non-profits around the world and TST's dedication to getting kids back home with their families is unmatched. I also love how nearly all of their staff (and especially those working directly with the community) are skilled Tanzanians, and how their residential care is evidence-based with a focus on best practice.

I walked through the Nat and Jack Farrell House before it began to house less fortunate men than myself. <br> <br>It was simply inspiring to see the job that Ray and his team had done getting all the work done, inspections passed, thoughtful preparation, and, of course, the wonderful home/facility that was so graciously donated by the Farrell family to make this men's homeless shelter possible in our great little town of Branford, CT. <br> <br>I was able to Google it and found their GoFundMe page. That was the easiest way to donate to the cause...

While other literacy organizations focus on life after age 3, Read To Grow educates a parent on the day of that child's birth about the critical importance of reading to the child immediately while the brain is developing. By meeting with the parent/s in the hospital, they learn that literacy is to a healthy mind/life as nutrition and the avoidance of disease is to a healthy body. This is a unique program that exists nowhere else.
