Review for DAKOTA BOYS AND GIRLS RANCH FOUNDATION, Minot, ND, USA
I've worked at Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch since 1998. They have truly changed many children's lives. One child loved the Horse Program, and in particular, her horse Itch. This child had issues with anger, stemming from a tough home life. At one point in the summer of 2010, she helped another girl overcome her fear of horses by taking her out to the pasture with a staff-led group, allowing her to pet Itch and to stand beside her all the time. This was a beautiful moment when our resident could feel "success"--something she dearly needed.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
my capacity as a servant team staff leader in 2010. Christian church youth visited the Ranch and saw first-hand the fruits of "their labor" to a population that is considered at-risk. They learned so much!
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
More easily allow other children from outside North Dakota to become residents of our successful programs for at-risk youth.
