Review for Shekinah Gloria Ministries, Inc., Liverpool, NY, USA
I have been working in ministry for many years and have had the privilege of doing humanitarian work in various nations across the globe. I had the honor a few years back of visiting Nuevo Jordan school in Trujillo, Peru while I was doing some outreach work in Peru. This ministry was one of the best I have seen in my travels and is a highly autonomous work even though the funding is external in nature. Their staff were wonderful people and the students were some of the happiest children I have ever met. I could feel such a peaceful presence when I arrived at the school and will never forget that wondeful little oasis in the middle of the sugar cane fields!

I am not fully aware of how this organization works, but the only change I could suggest based on my limited experience with them would be to get more indigenous forms of assistance in funding their ministry in Peru.

What is unique about this organization?
When I visited their work I had a conversation with their president and he sent me full financials for the previous year. Not one board member or officer of the organization had a salary and as a matter of fact the adminstrative costs did not come from their donations- they paid them out of pocket! I've never seen another organization do anything even remotely similar to that!!
