This charity's web page is gone, their Facebook page goes to a personal page of someone who lives in New York City.
I believe that this charity is defunct.
It is just nice to be able to give to an organization where you know that your dollars, your service and your prayers go to a great cause and where every dollar goes directly to the place you designate it!
I have volunteered to assist this amazing organization on various occasions because the work they are doing is so incredible. They have gone into areas that no one else was interested in going to in order to help an entire village to improve their standard of living. They have been able to get running water, electricity and phone lines into the village they have assisted in Peru and have helped refugees in Uganda, slaves in Sudan, political prisoners in Kenya and impoverished people here in the US. I am proud to help them raise funds for their amazing endeavors!
Without Shekinah Gloria Ministries there would be 50+ children who would not have ever had the chance to have an education, or have the blessing of learning about Jesus and most likely they would not have the meals and clothing that they have now. In addition to the daily care and love of these children who are so precious, there would be thousands who would have never heard the Good News of Christ. Every summer Shekinah Gloria brings a group to various areas of Peru to spread the good news and so many end up giving their lives over to Christ. The group also visits the garbage dumps where many are forced to live in horrible poverty. The group brings tons (literally) of rice, other foods, clothing and hope. Shekinah is a huge extended hand of Christ who needs your prayer and support to continue in the care of these kids. Hopefully someday they can expand the school or build another one so that these kids will not end up working on farms with no education. No hope and insufficient care. Thank you so much for all you do. Maria Arthur
Shekinah Gloria Ministries is a great ministry that God is using to reach and help people in the world. God called all the world to be fishers of men and this ministry is being obedient to Gods call and going into the world. Where they go is tough and not for the faint at heart, but they have the burden of reaching these people and we all should be supporting them in one for or another.
I love the work that Shekinah Gloria is doing for the children in Peru. Matt has such a heart to see these children get an education and to give the children much needed food. He works hard to raise the funds needed to keep the school going and growing.
I have heard Matt's story of how he started this school and seen many videos and pictures of trips that he has made with teams from our church.
I have been a donor and a volunteer with this organization. I saw lives changed when I went to Peru with them in 2009. I visited a school that that they built in Peru and met the children and families that they are helping. Many of them wouldn't have a chance for a better life without this organization. Praise God for this ministry.
Just recently learned of this ministry! Very excited that it is so close to home. Plan to pack a few bags to send with them in July!
This is the kind of organization that makes you wish you had $20,000 sitting in a can somewhere.
I've always wished I could do more to help these people because they are doing an amazing work and seeing amazing results.
I have watched them start off as a small effort and turn into a multinational organization with little help and insufficient funding.
God is doing some great things through them and I hope this review helps others to see what a blessing they are!
I have been working in ministry for many years and have had the privilege of doing humanitarian work in various nations across the globe. I had the honor a few years back of visiting Nuevo Jordan school in Trujillo, Peru while I was doing some outreach work in Peru. This ministry was one of the best I have seen in my travels and is a highly autonomous work even though the funding is external in nature. Their staff were wonderful people and the students were some of the happiest children I have ever met. I could feel such a peaceful presence when I arrived at the school and will never forget that wondeful little oasis in the middle of the sugar cane fields!
I have been a donor to this charity for many years and am well pleased with the level of commitment and dedication that Shekinah Gloria Ministries has to assuring that their donors money goes directly to the cause. We have seen them do some amazing things over the years with a shoestring budget and the staff of the charity has worked probono in order to assure that they do as much work as possible. There are hundreds, maybe even thousands of kids whose lives are better because of their hardwork and dedication and I hope that they continue to grow and to operate with the high level of integrity that they have! They're not just a great nonprofit. They are an amazing nonprofit!!!
The child I personally sponsor has written me saying how changed their life is because of this organization and my giving and I wish everyone would give so that they could help more kids like mine!
I had the opportunity to travel with Shekinah Gloria Ministries to Peru in 2009 and to see firsthand the amazing work that they are doing!
The village in the area they planted their school has flourished in leaps and bounds since they began their project there back in 2004. To see such a huge impact in the lives of the locals there moved me like nothing else in my life!
The school felt like an oasis in the middle of the desert and the children were some of the happiest I've ever seen in my life.
To see the thousands of lives touched as we traveled around the country, and to give away multiple tons of food was lifechanging and I cannot thank Shekinah Gloria Ministries enough for the amazing opportunity!
Some large organization have a tendency to utilize a majority of their funding for administrative costs and salaries and these guys have never once spent a single penny from donations on administrative costs or salaries! THEY HAVE TAKEN NO SALARY AND PAID ALL ADMINISTRATIVE COSTS OUT OF POCKET SINCE DAY ONE IN 2004!!
I really hope that this organization grows and expands, while keeping the same objectives and mindset that they currently have- the world has become a better place because of their work!!!
