Review for Jewish Family Services, Columbus, OH, USA
A friend of mine recommended that I contact JFS when I was initially unemployeed. I contact Jim Hatch and he mentioned that they had just closed the open enrollment, but to stay in touch and they would have another enrollment in July. While attending JobLeaders, I met Mindy and attended her siminar "Ace the Interview". I stayed in touch and in June I was called by Karen. I was invited to attend their weekly Wednesday meetings and I had a chance to network with many qualified people. Karen also helped me fine tune my resume. Over the time that I was with JFS, they were always supportive and several times we meet and reviewed the progress that I was making. I even recommended that a friend of mine join the group. During the time that I was with JFS, I got involved with The United Way and took part in the LogisticART program througn Columbus State. Without being about of the JFS group, I would never have had that chance. It was through a brainstorming meeting in February, that my resume was sent to someone that the staff knew and he forwarded by resume onto others. I landed an Operations Manager position that was not posted anywhere on the internet. Without the help of JFS, I would not have his job now. I will stay in touch with Karen and her staff and I will continue to recommend JFS to my friends.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
By them helping me finding a job. Through their network of contacts, they sent my resume to thers, who in turn forwarded my resume onto other companies and as a result, I landed this position.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
I think they do a wonderful job. When I use to go with my friend to te meetings, we both commented that sometimes it would be nice to have a questions and answer meeting with the entire group. There are questions that people face being unemployeed and I am sure there are others in the meetings who have gone through this previously, that could help answer the questions.
