Review for Mary Mother Of Peace Medjugorje Charity Inc, Bethesda, MD, USA

Rating: 4 stars

As an example, we found it very compassionate for Mary Mother of Peace to continue to help the poor people stricken by a devastating earthquake in Haiti in 2010. The project is called The Path to a Better Life. Working in partnership with the Fonkoze Foundation reliably present in the field, Mary Mother of Peace-Medjugorje Charity participates in their CLM program --Chemen Lavi Mayo, i.e. "on the Path to a Better Life" by assisting with the education of children and poverty alleviation of their families, especially mothers, to make them creditworthy for a micro finance program. This will help them develop revenue-earning activities, urban or rural. Each dollar spent is going a long way in Haiti; project is progressing well and is helping now 300 CLM children enrolled in school (200 in 2010), and their mothers are getting out of poverty. A reliable monitoring system and a strong local presence allow to properly controlling the use of funds disbursed locally through a special account managed by Fonkoze CLM Youth Fund. We are now gearing up to raise additional funding for the program. Budget is US$15,000 for two-years (2012-2013) for a total of about 1,000 target beneficiaries. Thank you for your help. MMP-MC is also helping wounded US service men and women in their transition into civilian life. God bless you all.

The MMP-MC non-profit and its President Claudine Dussert, Ph.D. and others are doing a superb job bringing emergency relief, alleviating poverty, and helping orphans, poor children, disaster victims, refugees and suffering people of all faiths rebuild lives, improve their living/educational conditions and regain dignity at home and overseas.
I know first hand that the Bicycles Project, India, and 2 other post-tsunami reconsteruction projects also in India have demonstrated results and I strongly and warmly support this Charity.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization also in 2008 when I realized that the Bicycles project in India (bicycles to go to school) was making a great difference in the education and life of boys and girls and their poor families and local communities in Kerala that are still in great need.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

This Charity is small in size but well managed financially. Keep on the good work, and improve fund raising capacity and results with help from organizations like GlobalGiving and others who care.

Role:  Donor & I'm a regular donor to this organization that I scrutinize each year. I have also traveled with Claudine in Bosnia to see first hand the wonderful job the Charity does here to help poor children and orphans. .
