I learned of Kim Sturla and Animal Place many years ago through the work of Jeffrey Moussaieff Masson, the writer, former psychoanalyst and animal researcher. His feelings about Kim and Animal Place as well as the film, The Emotional Lives of Farm Animals which was shot at Animal Place caused me to read everything I could about Kim's work and to begin contributing to this wonderful place. I have never visited the sanctuary but I have spoken to Kim at length and like what I hear. I also read everything that she publishes and continue to be amazed at what she has accomplished for these tortured and forgotten souls. My knowledge of other sanctuaries such as the Catskill Animal Sanctuary and The Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary, both in New York where I live, help me greatly in evaluating Animal Sanctuary and make me feel comfortable in continuing to support Animal Place.
