The first time I went to Animal Place in Grass Valley, two of the pigs flopped over at my feet so that I could scratch their bellies. I immediately stopped eating pork. How could I eat something that does the same thing my beloved dog does? How could I eat something that expressed love towards me the first time they met me? I love going there and seeing the animals that are so happy that at one time lived in terrified fear. This place is amazing and makes me feel really good.
I love Animal Place as its focus is the animals. The stories about the animals rescued are captivating and the other articles I receive through the newsletter are interesting and practical (eg. recipes). Please support them, for a better world for animals.
As a follower of Animal Place, we at Permaculture in Paradise hope to one day be as great a service as they are. We have learned so much through there articles and strive to follow in their footsteps on the east coast.
Thanks so much for your help!

I received an email about Animal Place in Grass Valley in 2019 and read about their love and dedication to farm animals, I donate and buy products from them as often as I can :) I have also been keeping up with them ever since! Thank you to everyone who is a part of this amazing charity and sanctuary!
Animal Place is an exceptional rescue. They do amazing work saving the most vulnerable and poorly treated creatures on our planet. Their outreach is helping to bring light into the shadows of these animals lives and helping humans understand that they are not here for us but with us.
I have been following Animal Place for a few years now. I look forward to their emails and newsletters. I donate when I can and hopefully, some day I will be able to visit. What an impressive organization. The compassion and caring is amazing. It is a good feeling to know that there are people out there who go to such lengths to rescue farm animals and to educate the public. I cannot even imagine the suffering that these animals have endured, yet Animal Place does all within their power to be there for them.
Animal Place must be a truly amazing place ā living in Germany, I've become aware of this organization by incidence and wish I could visit it in person. Happy and grateful their stories, pictures and petitions show their dedication to helping even in "hopeless situations"...
Animal Place is awesome!!
Animal Place seems like heaven for the animals that have been through so much pain and trauma. It makes me happy to know that there are people who care and let them live like God/nature intended. I donate when I can and hope to visit someday!
I am so impressed that this place even exists... and functions! I always feel good when I get my emails, letting me know that at least a few of my fellow creatures survive their years as human food producers, and are able to live on in retirement. I live in Oregon. I have friends and neighbors who raise chickens and treat them well. However, I was horrified to learn that my one friend, regularly, as her chickens reach 2 years of age, has them "humanely slaughtered" and gets new chicks. She doesn't need all those eggs. She is relatively well off, and only gives most of the eggs away. Why then? what excuse? That's just how its done. I am so greatful that Animal place doesn't think that's how it needs to be done. Please give them nonprofit status.
Reese folks are 100% helping rescues lives & I am 100% a supporter ! The animals roar are blessed to find forever home here are truly blessed indeed !
No other non profit does what this one does. How special to take in hens who could no longer pay for their keep by constantly laying eggs so they were meant to be killed in a most horrible manner. But Animal Place took them in. It's one of a kind - the very best.
I appreciate that Animal Place helps & saves many farm animals from horrific treatment in factory farms. They also provide education to the public & bring awareness of the inhumane conditions & suffering these animals endure. Not everyone thinks or cares about farm animals. Animal Place provides an abundance of information to change that. Bravo to them for efforts.
I haven't been to Animal Place, but everything I've read says that the people who run it and care for the animals have the biggest hearts in the world toward ALL the creatures! I would like to visit there some time!
Animal Place does amazing work, from rescuing 100ās of hens to coordinating national virtual conferences and sanctuary tours. Pre-pandemic they also had a wonderful vegan store in Berkeley, which is sorely missed! Animals deserve more places staffed by caring folks like Animal Place, so grateful for
the work they do!
As a 40+ year animal activist and advocate, I have known for a long time about the abuses and cruelties animals suffer, especially farm animals. ALL animals have feelings and to be viewed only as something to eat or wear is not something I support. Over the years, the more I learned, I also became first vegetarian and then vegan out of my ethics toward these animals and also became aware of the places trying to help them. Animal Place is one such place that literally moves mountains to help these beings who have suffered so much and finally get a chance to be cared for and loved. Everyone should know about them and the work they do!
Over 25 years ago I had my own dog rescue group. I received a call from a woman who wanted to know if I could help her find a home for her goat! Someone mentioned I should call Kim at Animal Place. I did and she helped find a home for the goat. I immediately liked her energy, so helpful and kind. Thru all these past years I have been a donor. I find them to be one of the most outstanding nonprofits and I especially appreciate how they inform people of what goes on in the life of a farming animal. They make us aware of the cruelty that is sadly involved.
I love how they see each animal as an individual...from cows to chickens, and others...especially as they age and their "productivity" decreases...but that is an advantage if someone is not equipped to handle baby cows or chicks or whatever running around all over the place. And these are animals that society typically views as animals to eat. And that needs to change. There is nothing so hurtful to a child as to have a bond with an animal that they helped raise, and then to have their parents butcher them - but the animal had a name! All animals have a name to their mothers.
I first learned of Animal Place when they made national news with a rescue of about 2000 chickens from a Midwest farm that was failing during the early Covid pandemic. The chickens were starving to death and would have died in the miserable, tiny wire prison cells they had suffered in for their entire lives. Animal Farm saved them, brought them home and gave them a chance to be real birds, feel the sunshine and stand on soft grass instead of sharp, cold wire.
I am so touched by their dedication to the victims of factory farming. I love reading the Newsletter stories of animals they've saved who are now living in peace with loving care. It's an honor to be a monthly donor!
I decided to go Vegan in 2018, and soon found the Animal Place organization. I love that they help farm animals because they suffer so terribly. Iām a widow and donate whenever I have a little extra.
Animal Place is one of the few non-profits concerned with the plight of farm animals. They deserve our support and appreciation.
I haven't been to Animal Place, but I love to read about what it does for the precious, innocent animals. They are a voice for the animals. I've been vegan for over a decade, I do it for the animals. I don't want to contribute to the suffering of innocent animals.
I first heard about Animal Place from vegan animal rights activists, Kery & Terran, and they shared high praise for the work being done by Kim and her dedicated crew of animal lovers and caretakers. I havenāt had the opportunity to visit Animal Place in person yet, but through videos, mailers and the organizationās Facebook page, I feel very connected to the humans and animals there. Because Iām so inspired by and grateful for the important work theyāre doing, Iām a regular donor to this nonprofit charitable organization. I encourage you to get on the organizationās mailing list so you can learn about many of the animals who were saved by Animal Place, and be inspired to donate whatever you can.
I have stage 4 cancer and at the back of my mind is knowing I wonāt be ācured/cancer freeā. Life is precious, whether human, mammal, primate, amphibian, avian, etc. I am so against killing animals that no longer produce milk, eggs, meat. Tearing newborn calves from their mothers and killing them just so we can drink milk. I love this rescue that never saw no to any animals they learn of that need a new lease on life and give them a sanctuary to live the remainder of their lives in peace and comfort.
Through stories and photos this nonprofit highlights the plight of ignored animals.
This org. does remarkable life saving work for animals, that rivals the best sanctuaries and rescues in the world. So lucky to have people who can devote their lives to these unfortunate animals that humans have forgotten.
I am 85 years old. When I was a child in Little Rock Ark, every Sunday my parents and I went to
my father's home place, a farm 50 miles away. As a child, I didn't realize the animals on the farm
were killed for food. I remember vividly when my grandfather gave me two calves as a gift (Barbara and the other name I can't remember). At age 6, I was fascinated that they would swallow my arm to the elbow! We moved to the DC area soon after, and I never knew their fate.
My parents always told me they were fine. But, strangely, I feel they played a big part in my lifelong interest in humane issues.
As someone who wants to do the positive and runs out of time, I find solace in Animal Place. It keeps on keeping on. Its timely activities (for example, turkey-time alternatives) help us to be better humans. When I need hope, I go to Animal Place.
I have donated to Animal Place for many years because of the wonderful compassionate rescue work they do. We are so grateful they are here to stand up for farmed animals who endure some of the most horrific abuse imaginable. I will always support them because I know the work they do through having seen the videos and read so many testimonials about them.
Humans have been abusing animals in all sorts of horrific ways. Farm animals are rarely treated humanely and are born to die young. Truly cruel. Animal Place changes the future of these animals to one of happiness and health. What could be better!
I started following Animal Place a few months ago, I am in amazement of all the animals they have helped. I am so grateful for all the people that run Animal Place and the volunteers that work there. I want to thank each and everyone of them for giving these unwanted and abused animals a place to live out their lives.
ANIMAL PLACE ROCKS! I have been following and supporting Animal Place's amazing farm animal advocacy and rescue since the mid 1990's! Their dedicated "boots on the ground" activism, compassion, and care for farm animals is phenomenal! Greatly inspired me to adopt a vegan diet! How could you not after learning about the horrors these sentient beings are subjected to!
Every life has value and worth. Animal Place epitomized this in their mission and relentless love for all creatures and how they work endlessly embrace 'life'.
Animal Place is a wonderful rescue that gives homes to abused farm animals. They are very dedicated to animals that otherwise would be killed or live out there lives in misery. Lucky are those who are rescued by Animal Save! I have visited their well kept premises, seen the happy animals and have known about their great work for many years.

As a supporter of Animal Place, I have been alerted to the unacceptable situation that is life for farmed animals. Factory farms are a major component fueling the demise of the environment, - the very thing we all need to survive! Animal Place shares informations, informs the public of alternative eating habits, and saves animals from the farming industry. I like to shop with them and show my support and adore their message about loving all things.
Amazing farm and sanctuary!
They are doing the most important work of improving the lives of ALL living things, humans included. Thanks for all the love and support of the four legged, two legged and winged that are abused and forgotten!!!
It is my belief that sometime in humanityās future we will look back on animal consumption and itās industry as we look back on human slavery, as unthinkably cruel, unnecessary and shameful behavior. Now humanity is aware that we can all be optimally nourished by a plant based cruelty free diet- and from this have greater health than if we consume meat.
Animal place awakens our compassion and brings us a clear view to see the reality of the meat industry for what it is: unnecessary suffering for humans and animals alike.
Thank you Animal Place.
Beautiful rescue. Our family fell in love with the stories of animals rescued many, many years ago. We have adopted hens and made several visits for special event & are always amazed at the resourcefulness & dedication of the volunteers. We love Animal Sanctuary!
Animal Place is an excellent organization super dedicated to helping the most vulnerable members of our planet. I am happy to support their mission.
Animal place saves abused animals that should have the best lives and the most humane endā¦because these animals are livestock, raised for food. Cows and pigs are deeply sensitive and intelligent And hens are loving and make great pets. They should have happy lives and not be made afraid at the end of their lives and under no circumstances should baby animals be sacrificed.
What amazes me most is the scope of the work being done by Animal Place. They care for ALL animals, conducting rescues, treating ill and injured animals of all breeds, and restoring them all to a happy normal life. I have donated to this organization a number of times, and I always feel proud that I am helping to make possible their incredible work of caring for neglected and abused animals.
Surrounded by animals is joyous, surrounded by the love of rescued animals is like heaven on earth. There is no such greater joy to watch the animals realize that they are safe and loved. The love they reciprocate in return, just fills you up and make you want to burst with joy.
The "Animal Place" welcomes all the animals with love and provides individualized care as needed. They are a wonderful nonprofit.
I don't live close enough to Grass Valley to visit Animal Place in person, but I so enjoy their newsletters and emails. It's quite amazing the lengths they go to in rescuing abused farm animals especially. There really aren't many organizations who could or would step in after a goat, for example, has been savaged by dogs running loose, or farm workers have deliberately injured pigs or chickens. I'm always pleased when I hear of any animal escaping on the road to a slaughterhouse. We need to pass/enforce laws that prohibit transport to Mexico, for example, but only a handful of groups such as Animal Place even care. Great work, ladies and gents! Your humanity is outstanding.
have been following the work of Animal Place for the past few years. The stories of their rescues and how committed they are to the recovery of abused and neglected farm animals has been continually inspiring. Their work is exceptional. They make a profound difference in the animal rescue field.

Animal Place has been vital to my greater understanding of other species! How we care for them affects how we care for other human animals also.
Animal Place is an incredible organization. Their dedication to spreading their mission of compassion is inspiring. I am always in awe knowing that they have rescued over 30,000 farmed animals in just the past 10 years. Keep up the amazing work, Animal Place!
Animal Place provides safe haven to animals rescued from the animal agriculture industry. For rescued farmed animals, Animal Place is heaven on earth.
In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, I helped rescue more than 1,000 starving chickens from a destroyed farm in MS. When Animal Place found out about the chickens, they sent a trailer to rescue them. Thanks to Animal place, these poor starving animals were given a new lease on life. Animal Place is a fantastic organization that provides rescued animals a lifetime of love and care. They are fantastic!
Animal Place is such a loving, giving environment for farm animals unwanted and abused! Their careful treatment of each species is an inspiration for all, and they take their place proudly among the best of the best farm animal rescue organizations. We cannot possibly experience the conditions of abused and neglected animals in our imaginations, but the staff lovingly exceeds the imagination in their daily life with these creatures, lucky enough to have found this refuge. I support them when I am able, and I encourage others to help them reach each of their magical goals for these animals.
I have been a huge supporter of Animal Place for over 20 years. They do fantastic work caring for rescued farm animals and educating the public about the animals, the farmed animal industry, vegetarianism and veganism. I've volunteered here a few times and had fantastic experiences with super friendly people who have an obvious devotion for the well being of the animals that live here. Best of all, they brought me to my true love, Juanita, a mexican street rescue dog, who is my sweet girl and completes my life. I cannot say enough positive things about this organization, the work they do, the positive difference they make in the world, and the people who work tirelessly so that animals have better lives.
This an amazing organization that helps rescue farm animals from cruelty, educates the public about factory farming, and offers healthy vegan alternatives. Nonprofits like this work tirelessly and truly help to save the world. This lifesaving work allows animals to live in peace as they deserve. It is also essential for public health and safety (including prevention of future pandemics), and for overall environmental health.
Great animal protection and salvation charity! They are the most compassionate organization I have come across and they do admirable work in saving and giving animals the lives they truly deserve.
Animal Place is a wonderful organization, providing care for rescued animals. They also have wonderful educational programs. Love everything about their mission and amazing work.
I am so impressed by the work of Animal Place and by its excellent communications.
I feel a member of the community though I live thousands of miles away. In these sorrowful and difficult times, Animal Place has continued to rescue and shelter animals in need. All blessings to Animal Place, its volunteers And donors.
I get periodic emails from Animal Place and I just love them for the great, heartwarming things they do for animals. I love the animals I see and I am so grateful there are people and a great place for animals to call home, it is so inspiring. It makes this crazy world more tolerable knowing the love and protection animals receive here. Knowing that there are people and a place like this for animals it helps me to sleep better knowing animals are in their hands. Thank you so much. The closest place to heaven.
This organization has huge hearts and really truly cares so much about their work. They are extremely compassionate.
I have been a volunteer for Animal Place for many years. They are a wonderful organization full of dedicated staff that care for many rescued animals. I always enjoy visiting the sanctuary with its beautiful 600 acres, and of course, the animals.
Bless you for all the hard work you do. Please keep it up. as an animal lover I have learned so much from your organization.
I am glad there is Animal Place, I have always loved animals and had a pig that I played with and treated like a baby, it disappeared, I know now what happened also raised a rooster, he was killed because he attacked a child, it was later brought out the child kept coming down and chasing him with a stick, my father felt bad after that. I have live without beef, chicken, pork for a very long time and have not missed it, I am also in good health. Letās save more farm animals.
Animal Place is a top notch peaceful and loving place for rescued farm animals. The staff is super friendly, knowledgeable and caring. It is wonderful to know that amidst the horrors of animal abuse there is a haven such as Animal Place!
From my very first visit to Animal Place I fell in love with the animals as well as the people who work tirelessly to ensure the well being of its residents. It is wonderful to experience the care and effort that is put into Animal Place. The staff is super knowledgeable, I have learned a lot about farm animals, I always look forward to my next visit to this beautiful peace of heaven!
Animal Place does an excellent job in providing a needed sanctuary for a wide variety of farm animals as well as in offering public outreach and education to improve how people view and relate to farm animals. I attended Animal Place's recent online Farmed Animal Conference E-Summit and appreciated this excellent learning opportunity. Animal Place's combination of helping many individual farm animals as well as addressing the broader systematic problems related to how farm animals are treated is very effective.
